Oakland will DESTROY the Eagles on Sunday! (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Mainly because the game doesn't count in the standings. :bag:

How pumped up is everyone for kickoff?!?! :banned:

Use this thread to discuss anything and everything happening in the game.

I can't wait to see all the scrubs that will never make the team play. Can we just FF to week 4 of pre-season already?

Hell no! Part of getting the juices flowing is seeing the "scrubs" who play in the4th quarter, and they play their hearts out trying to make the team. Who wantedto see a 6th round pick named Tom Brady playing in the preseason in 2000???

I want to see if Brooks and Moss are on the same page or if they are still trying to build some chemistry.

Definitely the latter. They aren't exactly going to look like Culpepper-to-Moss circa 2004 right off the bat. If there is one thing Brooks does well, it should be the ability to hit Moss on the deep 9 route.

If they look good on sunday. I will seriously consider drafting him in my pay league later on this month.

I'd be surprised if we saw anything more than a 3-and-out from each team's first unit and then scrubs for the rest of the game. No way does Moss get sent deep in the first game.

You also get a feel for the way that the higher drafted rookies are playing. For example, his preseason performance (particularly his success in both catching and running the football) was a major reason why I drafted Edge as my RB2 during his 1999 rookie season.

Yeah, typically one series from the starters in the first fake game.... especially since both of these teams have an extra preseason game. Still, it wouldn't shock me to see Oakland's 1's stay in a bit longer, with the new coaching staff/players/system.

Moss will retake his thrown this year as the best WR
:lmao: Had to read it 3 times before it made sense. First time read it forward, then my eyes travelled backwards across the middle to see if it made sense that way. Finally slowly and out loud. Go hydoponics!

It was about 50 weeks ago that I noticed LaMont Jordan getting a lot of targets in the preseason. Needless to say I'll have my eye open on that front this Sunday.

Madden's induction, Raiders on Sunday. Should be a great weekend.

RN,

Also I'm sure you have the NFL Network. There's a program they've been showing called "John Madden: The Trip To Canton" (or something close to that) that you need to check out. Brings back a lot of great Raiders memories.

We (in the Mountain time zone) didn't have to sit through Dateline, but I propose a drinking game for every time they mention TO in this game.....

Ooops---2 minutes in and I have had 2 drinks....
