1 - it raised some eyebrows when PHI traded down with divisional rival DAL... the cowboys selected pass rusher anthony spencer in first (they gave their first to CLE earlier for a second & 08 first earlier)... later PHI grabbed kevin kolb for QB depth in second with DAL pick... it would be ironic if mcnabb got injured on a spencer sack in the future & kolb is pressed into action...

2 - some will say that CLE gave up a lot to get brady quinn, especially if DAL gets a top 10 pick in 08 draft... but if CLE thinks quinn is a top 5-10 talent, it makes sense for a few reasons... they get to start developing him immediately (instead of possibly waiting until next year)... also, the beauty of mortgaging a pick next year for a highly rated player from this draft that fell, is that they potentially get top 5-10 overall talent... at hugely important QB position... but only have to pay him money for a #22 slot (actually, he may make more than a OG would - see some of escalators leinart received despite being 10th pick)...

3 - KC has needed an upgrade at WR for a while seemingly, but they also had pressing need to upgrade OL that has lost roaf & shields in consecutive seasons... they opted for good looking dwayne bowe... even that could have indirect positive impact on run game for LJ... upgrading passing game can force safeties to play more honest, creating more space & running room... also, bowe is one of top blockers at WR position (along with the acrobatic but hulking physical specimen calvin johnson)... he has almost LB size, a hardnosed disposition & plays angry...

What's so strange is that, it was the Eagles who connacted the Cowboys about the trade. :bag:

Good observations. Clev pulled off one the best trades in the draft I've ever seen. After making the unpopular but right choice in Thomas, they recognized an opportunity and capalized on it by getting Quinn. These 2 picks combined with Steinbach & Lewis has put them in much better shape offensively. When they get Winslow healthy and if they get Bentley back, then they will be very solid. Not sure why KC is so popular to bash these days. It's alomost as iff people are waitning for LJ's legs to fall off. KC has a great track record for producing solid Olines and solid running games. I doubt that's suddenly going to change. Adding Bowe helps but WR's take time to develope. It might create more room for Kennison at times but certainly LJ too. I for one will expect more of the same from KC. Let's not forget that are likely better on D. That's going to mean more time for the offense. It's a complimentary D/O with that defense and that running game.

As a Shaun Alexander keeper league owner I found it interesting SEA did not draft another RB.

Wasn't overly impressed with Morris last year with SA out, given his age and minor hints last year that he could walk away from the game soon, I was expecting a 3rd or 4th round RB to go to The Grreat Northwest.

Don't really know Seattle's needs at other position going into the draft so can't say if they had more pressing issues.

All said, SA might have some nice value for a few more years if he can stay healthy. :D

excellent point that no one on TV (that I heard) bothered to note . . .

I never heard it as a positive for Cleveland but as a negative for Quinn.

i watched the draft with baker, & we noticed that, too...morris may be OK as situational RB, but doesn't look like starting material... & SA is about 30... looks like they will wait until next season to draft a RB that might be groomed as replacement (plus there is always free agency)...we thought HOU & ATL also might be looking to add a RB, but guys like bush & pittman kept dropping...
