observations from every draft ive done this year (1 Viewer)

Ive done 4 big money drafts so far this year and when i look at the draft board after the draft, no team has great wr depth, yet many teams are stacked at rb. I feel that a solid wr will bring practically any rb in a trade during the year because no one will be willing to trade a wr. My new draft strategy for my biggest league is to get Royal or Desean Jackson as my 3rd wr in a start 3 wr league. I feel royal and desean are usually going in the 4th or 5th round and i think both will significantly outperform there draft slot. i plan on " punting " my rb 2 slot and taking lottery popshots on a rb 2 later in the draft. for example, this is the team someone should be going for

round one-best rb available ( for example forte )

round 2- best wr available ( for example steve smith )

round 3 - best wr available ( colston )

round 4- Royal or Desean

round 5-best rb available ( Rice )

round 6-best rb available ( beanie wells )

round 7-best rb available ( julius jones )

round 8- best rb avilable ( bradshaw )

this would give u 3 stud wr, a stud rb, and many lotto tickets rb's for your rb 2 spot. Lets say beane wells or bradshaw hits, with a little luck you could have a stud at both rb spots and 3 sick wr. plus, im convinced a good wr would be worth almosr any rb in a trade during the year

Thoughts?

I go back and forth on this. On the one hand, it seems like there is great RB value in the middle rounds so you can take 3 guys and if one pans out, you are good to go and can use those 2-4 round picks on WR.

On the other hand, it seems like nobody wants to go RB-RB anymore. Thus, in many of the mocks I have done (12 team from the 3 spot), it seems like by the time pick 22 comes around, there are already 6-8 WRs gone, 2-4 QBs and there are still some great choices left at RB. Guys like Slaton, Portis, Westbrook, and Gore are guys that I have often seen sliding.

I have decided that if Slaton, Westbrook or Gore are there, I'm just going to take them and then hope to stock up on WRs later. I am not sure about Portis. If it is him vs. somebody like Jennings, that is a tough call. I'm leaning towards going WR/WR at the 2/3 turn though if all the top RBs are gone.

Wow I just finished a draft tonight that looks nearly identical to this draft strategy. 12 team league. Drafting at #1 overallADPBoldinColstonRoyal RiceOlsenPalmerAveryDonald BrownI think I drafted a winner if my dudes can stay healthy. I wasn't sure when you are planning on going TE/QB with that strat but I did so in the 6/7 rounds. Got great value with Olsen.

It went something like that

.75 PPR 12 Team

RB RB WR WR keepers, then

5. (59) Jason Witten TE

6. (62) Eddie Royal WR

7. (77) DeSean Jackson WR

lynx4ben has my dream team, your in great shape my friend! and yes, the only thing that throws a wrench into this strategy is if westy/slaton slip, they are hard to pass up as ur 2nd or even 3rd best player

I took Thomas, Pierre NOS RB with my 4th. Royal was gone by time my 5th came around.

Jackson, DeSean PHI WR was taken at the end of the third.

This is what I've been seeing too. If everyone is implementing this stud WR strategy (which I've tried to do as well), I think the value in the late 2nd becomes RB.

This is from my one and only big money league. 12 teams, .5ppr 6point tds. I went a little different this year and I am loving my team

Fitz

S Smith

Bowe

Romo

Mcfadden

Ray Rice

Cedric Benson

Felix Jones

Chris Henry

Lesean McCoy

Vincase TE Minn

Matt Cassell

Shown Green

NE defense

Kris Brown

Nate Washington

i would like pantherclubs team a little better if u went rb in 1st round, say sjax, and went royal or desean in the round u took romo or mcfadden. this is some good analysis though, keep it coming
