Never seen anything like it. I've been watching football pretty hard core since 1974 and I can't think of any more amazing catch. Incredible.

I literally just told my brother this. That was the best catch I've ever seen and I believe it will be for the rest of my life. Just insane.

I'm sure there have been "bigger" catches like the Tyree one, but that's the first one that ever brought me out of my seat (with little/no rooting interest in the game anyway)

That was the best catch I've ever seen. Props to NBC for showing that snipping of his warmup, couldnt have gone better.

Immediate reactions are usually over-hyped, but I'm still going to say it's the best catch I've ever seen. That was unreal. It's like his hands had tar on them or something.

Not just the catch but call me crazy I don't think there's any WR I'd trade him for in fantasy football right now. And I'm talking redraft. Dynasty it's a no-brainer.

Over react much? Thats a bit much. He is having a good game but lets not be prisoner of the moment.

Amazing catch, best catch ever? Lots of great catches out there, but this one was nice.

There's a lot of circus catches you can think of that should have just been caught normally without all the drama in the first place- but that was the only possible way that pass could have been caught. Absolutely amazing.

I've been watching Giants games for weeks specifically because of him. I don't see anyone playing the position better. He's uncoverable and he catches everything.

I just called my brother about it. There haven't been any pure catches I've seen that have been better in my memory. Watching football regularly since the '70s, though not like you guys.

What would someone have to do to have a better catch?

Interfered with. On the sideline One handed at ridiculous angle. For a TD.

Only thing that would top it would be same scenario but he catches it behind his back or between his legs with one hand.

Oh God. Even me and shady agree on this one...

Other great ones:

1) Brandon Lloyd against the Giants (down at the three - similar type of one handed snatch)

2) Antonio Freeman against the Vikings ("He did what?!" - though more luck than skill...)

3) Santonio Holmes (Superbowl toe tapper)

4) Edwin Baptiste from Morgan State http://youtu.be/iZ8OHM1IGQ0

There are certainly bigger "moment" or "high stakes" catches but I don't remember one I have ever seen better than this based purely on the physics and mechanics of the catch.

What would have made it better if it was a critical game and a critical time. Athletically it was the most impressive catch ever.

I'm not saying the catch I'm posting below is better. However, when I saw that play by OBJ tonight and saw this thread, it reminded me of the Antonio Freeman catch on Monday night to win in OT. That's the first catch I thought about when recalling a moment I saw live and my jaw dropped as I knew it was clean during the live moment.

This is a whole different type of amazing. Tonight's catch is hard to beat from a pure skill/freak perspective.

i remember because I had Freeman going that night for the win :)

While we're on the topic of great TDs, in my search I found the below video. It might be the most improbable TD I've seen. Not a great catch by any means but just an amazing TD.

Ok, so I feel absolutely ashamed that I have never seen that video before. That blows the Cal/Stanford/trombone player touchdown out of the water. That has to be the coolest ending to a football game ever - on any level.Anone care to count the number of laterals? 10? 20? 30?

Find me a video of any catch, at any level, that's better.
That one of the great things that will come from that catch: This discussion will rage everywhere and we will see a lot of great catches this week as a result on TV and the web. Not sure if I will see one I think is better than this one.

FWIW it is offensive pass interference which directly led to defensive pass interference on the play. An accurately officiated play would have resulted in offsetting penalties, no catch.
