In an unusual development, Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jeremy Bonderman has given up a run in the 1st inning of the game today.

Shocking...you may now go back to whatever else you had planned for the day.

I notice he never throws a high fastball...thus never changing the eye level of the batters. Combining this with him not having a 3rd pitch he is confident is are the 2 big reasons he has struggled. He would be lights out if he had an off speed pitch, either a curve or a change. He has to get over the mental thing that is causing his first inning woes.

So is his problem mental or merely lack of a 3rd pitch? :pirate:

Not that it matters a hill of beans what I think, but I can't believe how far he has fallen, and how fast. I am sitting him this week (tomorrow, is it?) against the...

You know a guy has hit rock bottom when you can't trust him against the Royals.

His first inning problem is definitely mental.

time to trade bondo this offseason
When he blew up, having a little hissy fit when Leyland took him out of a post season game last year (can't remember which game, exactly), I thought he was gone then. I think his value is too high, long term, to trade, but God he needs some serious offseason mental help. He is a total, gone fishing, out to lunch, nut job.

Bite me, Bonderman. Nice game on my bench today.

(Although 3 K's suggest it wasn't so much that he was good, but rather that the Royals are, you know, the Royals.)

The guy is a mental midget.
This is a problem, I think. He may just be too dumb to be a good pitcher.
I think this is exactly right, unfortunately.
He was not only drafted out of high school, he was drafted out of the 11th grade due his being old enough at the time. I blame his longer hair now. He used to have a one razor cut, not he has about a four.
Maybe he should start wearing women's underwear and breathing through his eye lids.

He may be the second dumbest player in the history of baseball. Only Shoeless Joe and his legendary dumbness surpasses good ol' Box of Rocks Bondo.
