he did go 11-5 during his last playoff run with anaheim after going 27-30 in his playoff career prior to that point.

they are a top 20 team.  decent, not great.  crazy to have 16 wins at this point and the best is a split with an okay St Lawrence team and win and tie against a decent Notre Dame squad.  but they (players) don't make the schedule.  and it's still impressive what they've done in 5 years.  number one pairwise rank is funny though, but that's the pairwise.

Good article out of Buffalo on how the Leafs have jumped past the Sabres in terms of progress in rebuild. No big surprises in it (Babcock is great, better GM, luck in getting Matthews who is better than Eichel, Andersen in net, Leafs rookies have been outstanding, Sabres have not). Leafs are so much fun to watch right now, 9-1-1 in last 11 and pretty clearly looking like a playoff team.

I don't understand why he ranks 9th in avg toi/game among Red Wings forwards.

15 minutes/game and 3 of those are on the PP.

basically getting used like a 3rd line winger/PP specialist. his Corsi numbers at even strength aren't bad. basically 50%.
