Living near detroit let me clue you in how this sort of thing worked for the Lions. They were trying to supress the fire Millen signs that were carpeting Ford Field. So people brought them in anyway, the media made a bigger deal of pointing them out, and then thy started appearing at UofM games, at MSU games, at Redwings games. It made the matter much much worse.

Trying to take away the fans ability to voice displeasure is just not a good idea. They'll find a way, and it will become a bigger story.

Snyder has a far better chance of actually improving the team than he does of supressing this dissent via censorship, which should tell you something about how futile it all is.

"Let's not figure out what the problems are and how to solve them. Let's stop thousands of people from talking publicly about the problems."

Really, unless you have an army and nobody else has one, this idea always fails. It's childish to even attempt it.

I love the Mister Irrelevant guys and it's great that we have a good local sports blog like that, but their Jason Campbell love is getting out of control. Medium? Really? Virtually all of his completions and yards came against a defense that was soft because they knew the only way they could lose was by allowing huge plays over the top. A high school quarterback can run up decent numbers against an NFL defense playing with a three-touchdown lead in the second half. They also cite his stats but ignore his fumble numbers (which at this point have crossed the line from bad to surreal), his INT, and his sack numbers- obviously the sacks weren't all his fault, but a good QB gets rid of the ball on at least a couple of those.Anyone who watched the game knows that Campbell wasn't the worst Redskins on the field by a longshot, but he is one of the worst starting QBs in the league.

You should probably pull it back a bit on the feaux outrage schtick. You're going just a bit over the top. As for the whole "It's his stadium" thing, what's your point? Pretty sure if you want to run a profitable franchise, you need to grow a little thicker skin and mature a little more than your normal six year old who doesn't get his way. In the long run, I really don't think that's going to work out the way he thinks it is. As for your Microsoft example, I'm pretty sure if you dropped $100 on a ticket to walk in the door of Microsoft and Bill Gates himself saw you wearing a shirt that said "Fire Bill Gates," that he seriousy wouldn't give a rats ### and would probably even get a chuckle out of it. The issue isn't only what Snyder has the right to do, it's also how he exercises that right. Nobody disputes that he can eject fans from the stadium for virtually any reason or no reason at all. The issue is why he has opted to do this based upon pretty mild and even humorous personal attacks. He's a public figure (very much so in the D.C. area) and public figures take criticism. It makes him look thin-skinned, and by the way seems to confirm all the things people criticize him for, to try to censor this. It makes him look like a guy who wants to be out front when times are good, but who wants to hide from negative attention when things aren't going well. To me, in his position you simply take it and do what you can to improve your team, knowing that these things will take care of themselves over time with success. That's what a strong leader does. Dan's not a strong leader - he's a martinet with a big time fear of being inadequate that he wears on his sleeve.

I feel bad for DC fans. At least the joke of an owner in Oakland has a history and credentials (even if the game passed him by a decade ago). Not to mention he won't be around to continue to embarass and humiliate a once proud franchise for decades to come.

I have said it...I think...If I haven't, I apologize.Refusing to remove the shirt (or get rid of a sign or whatever) when told to do so by the Redskins on the Redskins' property and then acting like you're some patriot for fighting the good fight is childish in my opinion. I heard the shirt guy on The Sports Junkies today. The way he told the story, it escalated to where it did because he refused to remove the shirt. He demanded to see written policy. But, hey, if the thinks that worth being hauled off, then so be it. I just think it's childish.

Maybe it's different around D.C., which makes sense for obvious reasons, but it's certainly not a national ban. Last Saturday there were multiple banner-towing planes flying around a full L.A. Coliseum for the USC game.

Or do you want to do a "Frie Vinny" banner? Snyder is already going to fire Vinny. It is pointless.

Dan hired a below average GM in Vinny. It didn't work. Time for another try. Vinny-Gibbs team gave it their best, then Vinny by himself took a crack at it. He has let them all play their course as he should. Firing Vinny last year would have been too early. At the end of this year and tied to his coaching hire's success is the right time, and it will be done.

No need to be so dramatic guys.

It would make Snyder more uncomfortable and more embarrassed, at both the team's condition and the fan reaction (and media coverage of both of those). Why do you want him insulated from that?

I don't think any more can be done. We get way more attention than a 2-5 team should already. Everyone knows what the problem is and everyone knows it will try to be fixed after the season. No need to keep the self-serving drama spotlight on us for 2+ more months.No one has anything to say about Garcia or Booty coming in? I don't like having a lame duck QB. All Campbell is doing at this point is auditioning for his next job. Collins serves no purpose. What else can we do? Two more random Skins thoughts:1. I really want to like Danny Smith, but he keeps putting El back to return punts!!! He is making it very hard for me to hope he comes back next year.2. Where did all this Jerry Gray talk come from? To me this guy is part of the problem. He has not done well in my eyes as a postion coach. Yeah, I'm talking about everything.

Sacks, no pass protection, many players today said you guys didn't address the line, you knew it was a problem and you didn't address it, people have said it's one of the worst lines in the league. All that.

"Who's people around the league?"

People on other teams, commentators on TV, say you haven't addressed the line.

"We tried to address the line. We added Dockery, we added Mike Williams. When we were in the draft there was nobody at 13 worthy of it. Are you having the results you wanted? No, we don't want to have sacks. If it was Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas in there would it be better? Absolutely. If you lose a Pro Bowler it's definitely going to drop off. I guess where we're standing right now, to have more depth, that would be great."

Is it too early to say this is going to be the main target going into the offseason?

"It's too early to tell."

Did you think the depth was acceptable?

"Look at the depth around the league. Nobody has a pro bowler to back up a pro bowler. Look at Philadelphia last week when Jason Peters went out and they had six sacks against the Raiders. When you lose some quality people there is a dropoff. I'm not making excuses."

You had to think you wouldn't get 16 games out of Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas.

"Chris Samuels has been -- With Randy we anticipated not going 16 games. We anticipated that part."

Anyone put behind center from now until the end of the season will be a lame duck QB. Next year's QB will come from the draft or an offseason trade.

Hall of Fame receiver Steve Largent thinks that the Redskins have been trying to get his former teammate, Jim Zorn, to quit his job as head coach of the team.

It now appears that Zorn might be throwing caution to the wind in the hopes of being fired.

On Tuesday, executive V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato defended his work while also throwing Zorn a little deeper into the undercarriage of the bus. Specifically, Cerrato says he thinks he gave Zorn a roster with sufficient talent to make it to the playoffs.

Though Zorn hasn't spilled strawberry sauce on Sammy Baugh's uniform (yet), the second-year coach tempted a fate he might welcome in responding to Cerrato's statement.

"If we've got a playoff roster, we'll earn the right to be in the playoffs," Zorn said during a Wednesday radio appearance, per Ryan O'Halloran of the Washington Times.

Firing Vinny last year would have been too early.

Vinny has been part of player personnel decisions for as long as he's been employed by Snyder. Last year would have been about 8 years too late.

He was never THE guy until Gibbs left. I agree he had done enough to not get the job, but once Snyder decided to let him have the full reigns after Gibbs left he need to give him more than a year to put something together. Synder gave him enough rope. Vinny took his time, but he finally tied that up into a nice, tight, noose. At least Vinny will leave behind:OrakpoJarmonHorton (despite some troubles I think he is still developing into a quality starter)DoughtyMarkoFletcherHaynesworthI know that is a very short list, but I do like those guys. Hall and McIntosh might work out as well. I am really dissapointed in Rockyt this year. I thought this would be his break out year.
