***OFFICIAL 2010 Scouting Combine thread (1 Viewer)

BEST WHO ARE NOT GOING:

QB Jonathan Crompton, Tennesee - his performance at the Texas vs The Nation Game should have been enough for him to get a late invite.

QB Ryan Perrilloux, Jacksonville State (LSU transfer) - like Crompton, he had a good showing in El Paso. A better passing version of Josh Johnson IMHO.

QB Matt Nichols, Eastern Washington - looked good in the Shrine Game, and better than most of the QBs there (D.Clark, J. Skelton, T. Reesing, M. Hall, M. Kafka) - better than everyone but Skelton IMHO.

RB Dimitri Nance, Arizona State - ran over fools in Orlando, compact runner, good leg drive, and a BIG BOY.

WR Freddie Barnes, Bowling Green - speed at the Shrine Game in Orlando, great hands.

I'll add a few more in a little bit!

Interesting that OC Jacob Hickman (Nebraska) was invited to the combine, despite announcing in the press that he his retiring from football, and will not seek to be drafted.

NFL | D. Thomas breaks foot Wed Feb 17, 07:58 PM

NFL.com reports Georgia Tech WR Demaryius Thomas (foot) broke his foot working out Tuesday, Feb. 16, according to the NFL Network's Mike Mayock. Thomas' agent says it is a clean break and will take four to six weeks to heal and rehab. It is unknown if Thomas will be able to work out for anyone before the 2010 NFL Draft, but his agent says he will be ready for any team activities.

maybe Barnes gets the invite now?

That would be nice. Is there a precedent for that? I don't remember last minute injury additions like that from previous years, is that how it works?

So did he end up getting it?If not, that is terrible! It is terrible he was not invited in the first place!

Looks as though the o-line, d-line, and RBs will be the most intriguing stories of this combine with most QBs and the 'consensus' Top 2 WRs all wussing out of the drills. Well, at least Demaryius "Bay-Bay" does have a broken foot, so he has an excuse
