I would think Cooper. Avant is an excellent slot receiver and it would lessen both positions if he was made the wide out with Cooper the slot. Avant may be in on 2WR sets though. Cooper would definantly be the wide out in 3WR sets though.

I think it's a safe bet he's a go....although he does need to get in playing shape so I see where you are going with this now. I'd probably throw Riley Coopers name in there and keep Avant in the slot.

Then I would think Avant. As the more experienced WR on the team, they would rely on him more. Cooper might have larger plays though since they'd be more downfield but Avant would have Steve Smith 09 potential if he were the #2 IMO.

Not sure why this is surprising. He was viewed by draftniks as a complete backup, special teamer from jump. This is classic Andy seeing something in a linebacker that NO ONE else does. I would trade two or three of our other offseason moves for Kirk Morrison.

I don't think I nee to voice my opinion on the past few drafts and those selections lol i was pretty vocal about how assy mcgee most of those pics were with the reaching and what not. Its showing right now too at LB....and we are two weeks away from week 1.

I'm not very worried about safety. Granted Nate Allen looked absolutely lost last night for some reason (playing SS instead of FS maybe). I just think these things are fixable. Once this team gels, watch out.

The looking lost thing I hope can be fixed, it should be. New system, and such, new position even, sure he got a bit mixed up. You DON'T expect to see that out of a 2nd year player though. What worries me is the slowness he was showing. This is a reason I don't like the fact that did not resign Q. Made all the sense in the world to resign. Sure, its preseason, yadda yadda but i posted this over at BGN too. It is time to worry. If this was a 5-11 type team then you would go through your normal moans & groans but they arent that team. Its fine to question anything & everything after that performance. From past draft choices ( project players high, reaches for no reason, etc ) to current coaches ( not sold on Juan at DC at all . I'm sure the dream team comment didn't help. He doesn't seem the same as the Vick situation. VY still seems like a knucklehead and hasn't hit rock bottom like Vick. I don't think he would come in if Vick went down anyway. Kafka has looked way better. If they cut young and make Kafka the #2, I'd be all for it. I wonder how high a pick they are talking here. Round 3 seems like the Eagles style. Thats pretty high for a supplemental. I wonder if someone will go round 2 though.

We were at the workout, so I'm not shocked. But (having not seen the workout personally), I heard he looked like an awesome athlete...that can't play quarterback. If we do bid on him, I wonder if it'll be as a QB?

Been saying this for two weeks. Wouldn't surprise me if we cut Young, which sends a "message" to everyone about how nothing comes without commitment.

I don't see the eagles making a big play for Pryor unless they projected him as a QB. He'd be a project for sure. He'd be the QB3 for the next 2 years in the hopes that by that time if Vick is winding down, Pryor is ready to step in. Two things it does say though if they go hard after Pryor is that Kafka is much better than we thought and Young still doesn't get it.

I think those are all reasonable. We should see a crisper game tonight. Last weeks game had to wake a few guys up and I'm sure Andy and the coaches have used that as an excuse to ride them all week in practice. Matthews needs to show something tonight. Still don't understand why Cheney isn't the Mike with Matthews the Will.

I think it's a given Vick will play better. I want to see much better paly from the defense, especially stopping the run. Is Hillis playing tonight? Should be a very good test for the defense all around. I think Cleveland's O is going to be very good.

What I am hoping for tonight:-Vick plays sharper. He doesn't have to have a great night, just show better reads and make better decisions.-The front seven stops the run. If the Eagles show no ability to stop the run, then teams aregoing to run the ball on them all season long. The Eagles having great corners will be irreleventif we can't stop the run.-The LB's make at least a few plays. Given the weather, I'd add 'no significant injuries playing on a sloppy field'.
