You ranger fans are really decent dudes, and I'm truly sorry for your loss. I would say I can't imagine losing like that but having lived through 2004 as a Yankee fan, I can relate from the fan perspective. It sucks, but you guy are obviously an organization going in the right direction. I also feel for Ron Wash, who's easy to make fun of, but also easy to root for. To get that close, ugh, I just hope he gets to stay in Texas. If Nellie Cruz doesn't prance around in RF, well, you know the rest.
And Cards fans, congrats, what more can be said. Its a Buster Douglas-Olympic hockey level upset to have gone from August 1-October 28 on this run. I might be biased in putting the NY football Giants 07 run ahead of it, winning 4 playoff games on the road, including your heavily favorite division rival Cowboys, Favre at Lambeau in -10 degree weather and an undefeated Patriot team, but this has to be damn close. I mean, to get in the playoffs was a miracle based on thats last weekend, and beating Halladay 1-0 in Philly to complete one of the bigger upsets in Philly(after rallying against Cliff Lee down 4-0), and getting past a team of destiny feeling Brew Crew and then this Ranger team, which is probably mano a mano better than the Cards. A suspect bullpen a bunch of nobodies.
I'm watching a DVR of the last out last night and I have chills. I haven't been this psyched for a team I have no vested interest in to win since Duke beat UNLV in 1991, I have Goose bumps just watching it. What a special bunch, and thanks to both teams for one of the more memorable World Series ever. Such amazing stories here, Pujols in the walk year, Freese the hometown Hero, Larussa the cagey veteran, Carpenter with brass balls. Wow. Sick Sick win boys.
Now sign Pujols TOMORROW. This puts enough money in the coffers to end any debate. He belongs in the Lou.
