You guys aren't sure what McGahee brings to the table? For one, he is the better inside runner and and second he is the best RB pass blocker than anybody on the roster. Yes his fumbles are annoying as hell, but frankly I'm not certain we can trust Bell/Moreno not to have the same issues and Hillman isn't built to handle the inside runs and get the tough yards you need. Not to mention his pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. This is a good point. He's supposed to be old reliable. He's not a guy who's going to break huge runs and he's not particularly good as a receiver out of the backfield. If he's not securing the ball then he's not delivering in the reliability dept. I really do think this is an issue the staff is going to have to monitor down the stretch. Turnovers can be the death knell in a close playoff game. Here's to hoping Willis gets it figured out. Maybe it's a conditioning thing? It seems a lot of his fumbles are occurring late in games (Wild Card game last year, NE game earlier this year, yesterday--off the top of my head). Maybe the staff needs to make a better effort spelling him more during the early parts of the game? Ball security issues aside, McGahee has proven to be the best back on the team. But the fumbles and the late-game mishaps are hard to ignore.Frankly, I'm not sure what McGahee brings to the table right now that Moreno is incapable of.
I really disagree with this. All this RB talk would be quashed if they'd just stop handling Hillman with kid-gloves. He is their best RB and the time is over for grooming, Fox. Christ.
I see that, and you may be right. But I think McGahee is possibly overrated (great system). You have an old RB, but who does everything right (almost), coupled with a conservative coach, who's paranoid as hell at having Manning take a hit. And so he's the unquestioned starter. Look, I know all that makes some sense but I would rather they were more agressive here. But I've always liked coaches that were risk-takers. I think Hillman is the most talented and therefore should be in the mix by now. This window is a small one.I really disagree with this. All this RB talk would be quashed if they'd just stop handling Hillman with kid-gloves. How do you know this?I think rascal nailed it. This team ain't gonna throw a RB in there full-time who is gonna get Peyton killed back there. If Hillman knew the offense as well as McGahee and was good as pass blocking, he'd probably be the starter by now, but it's obvious that he is still isn't on McGahee's level in one or both of those areas.

Clear candidate, absolutely. LEADING candidate? No. Watt leads the league in sacks and has double digit passes defensed as a 3-4 DE, perhaps the second hardest position on the field from which to fill up the stat sheet (behind only NT). Peanut Tillman has a pair of touchdowns, forced 4 fumbles in a single game, and has been arguably the best cover corner in the game. These three are the clear front-runners, and Miller is definitely in the conversation, but I think as of right now he has to be 3rd in the bunch. A few more games like that one and yeah, maybe he becomes the leader in the clubhouse, but as of right now, I'd give it to Watt all day long.Von Miller should be the clear leading candidate for DPOY. He is disruptive, dominant and game-changing. LT-esque.

The Broncos have historically had a hard time at 11am, particularly in Balt. I think this year will be different, but we'll see. yeah. The Broncos may drop the Baltimore game, but I doubt it's a matter of getting soft playing poor teams. One other factor: Denver historically has not done well in December. They have had a winning record only a few times in my lifetime. Hell, both seasons they won the Superbowl, they were 2-2.Regardless, this will be a good test to see if Denver can measure up with the Raven's style of physical play. The Broncos have historically had a hard time at 11am, particularly in Balt. I never understand observations like this. There are totally different players on the team now with a different coach and a different playbook. Why would the month have any effect on them? Are people who spend time in Denver more susceptible to being tired in December? Does the shorter days wreak havoc on them?I get the idea that traveling east and playing early could cause problems. I get that Baltimore is a good team. I just dont see how the month on the calendar is relevant.yeah. I don’t get it either, but its a streak that has spanned a long time. I think even in the Reeves era, the team faded late. It's only the odd season that the Broncos have finished strong. Here's hoping Manning/Fox can cure this.Honestly, one new guy who may help here is Luke Riccheson (?), the new strength & conditioning coach. Tuten was one constant - he was there forever. Who knows if the problem was fatigue.I never understand observations like this. There are totally different players on the team now with a different coach and a different playbook. If you believe in it that strongly, put money on the Colts in Vegas and you could hit the jackpot...frankly, I think that's a HUGE long shot given how they play on the road.Broncos and Patriots are definitely the two well-rounded teams in the AFC, and unless the Texans get healthy on D, it feels like a two-horse race to me. The Patriots TEs could exploit this D all day long, so if they have Gronk and Hernandez available, it will be a nail-biter. I fear it will come down to how much the refs allow pressure on Brady though...wow. dominating game, on the road, vs a team with a good record. I know - Baltimore is banged up, Dierdorf seemed to make it his life's work to point that out, but man, a road win vs a good team is always a good thing. No turn-overs, and a competent running game! And, how about that D, huh? Broncos should have two CB's and two OLB's in the pro-bowl this year.
Denver now controls their own destiny for the #2 seed. They have to beat Cleveland and KC, both games at home, to secure it. I see no way they lose either, and will be booking my flight/hotel to Denver tomorrow to fly out for the Divisional round playoff game.
Here's how I see playoffs shaping out:
[*]Patriots beating Bengals, Colts beating Ravens. with all of the injuries Baltimore is dealing with and a hot Colts team, I can definitely see this happening.
[*]Broncos beating Patriots, Colts beating Texans. Patriots won't be able to play their up-tempo game at altitude and with crowd noise. Brady vs Manning - this game will be epic. Texans will have the task of playing the same time 3x within a 5 week span. It's tough to beat a team 3x in a season, i think the colts can pull the upset here.
[*]Broncos beat Colts - Manning vs the Colts, for a trip to the Super Bowl. Yes, I'm calling it right now - I think this is a superbowl team, and i'm pretty damn excited about it!!!
Spasms? Nothing on roto about it...from what I understand, Fox said there were no injuries in the post-game presser, so probably no biggie.Might as well post this here, too...I still can't find out what was wrong with Moreno's back (it appeared) on Sunday. Anybody? He was getting worked on, on the trainer's table and never returned, although the game was in hand. When he stood up to kind of test/stretch it, he started wincing.Spasms? Vegas is. Denver's 4:1 odds are currently second in the league behind San Fran's 7:2.I stream 104.3 in Denver on my in and out of work every day and at lunch sometimes too. Pretty much every host is talking super bowl at this point, and proclaiming Denver as the best team in the league. Is anyone buying it?
So there was indeed a problem, his ribs. I'm surprised there hasn't been more concern in FF circles. That's something that could rear its ugly head with one hit. Or even with a large lead which they are predicted to have, they take the added precaution of not leaving him open for further injury. It must've just been a bruise, and he's practicing fully, but still...from what I understand, Fox said there were no injuries in the post-game presser, so probably no biggie.Might as well post this here, too...I still can't find out what was wrong with Moreno's back (it appeared) on Sunday. Have fun at the playoff game! The stadium was electrifying today! What an awesome experience.Wow...the road to the Super Bowl now goes through Denver. Most importantly, NE and Houston will eventually play each other - Denver won't have to play both. That's the difference between #1 and #2. in divisional round, Denver will have either cincy, Baltimore, or Indy. broncos have already beaten the first two, on the road... shouldn't be much trouble handling these guys at home, with a weeks worth of preparation. and then - New England or Houston in the Championship game!I'm freakin pumped. I have my playoff tickets bought and paid for already. I have to fly in from Charlotte so it's a big deal for me to go - bought airline tix for the divisional round a couple of weeks ago. A buddy of mine is an airline pilot - told him that if he can take care of transportation, i'll take care of tickets...hoping his schedule cooperates. Here we go, it's gonna be an awesome ride from here on out!
It's true. Only 2004 featured more TDs or a better rating. Only 2010 had more yards.I too am quite pumped for the post season. I don't know if you listen to the Denver sports stations via Internet, but everyone here is really pumped... and why not?
The D is just amazing, PFM is having the second best season of his career (I've not researched that personally, it's what the media is saying), and the O-Line is in BEAST MODE.
Have fun when you come out here. Weather has been decent but unseasonably humid by our standards (at least it seems that way), so it 'feels' a bit colder than usual, which means it's still not THAT cold![]()
See you there. I favor the ORANGE CRUSH by 9 over Cincy. 8 vs Balt. And 11 against Indy. That's a lot.Wow...the road to the Super Bowl now goes through Denver. Most importantly, NE and Houston will eventually play each other - Denver won't have to play both. That's the difference between #1 and #2.

Considering the injury he's coming back from and the fact that he has an entirely new cast of coaches and teammates, that's amazing. Keep this winning up, Denver. It's true. Man that Ridley stat leaves a bad taste in my mouth. More than a small part of me hopes we get NE in the AFC Championship game to see that match-up again. First, however, we need to get past the BengalsBroncos allowed only three backs to eclipse 100 yards rushing - Foster with 105, Charles with 107, and Ridley with 151.

If we're cutting Moore, do we have to cut Doom and Miller, too? #1 pass rush in the NFL this season went completely MIA in the postseason. Maybe if Flacco were feeling just the tiniest bit uncomfortable in the pocket, we wouldn't be talking about how many bombs Denver's defense gave up. Not to take anything away from Moore's play (what a terrible angle), just saying he was hardly the only defender who didn't show up.Rahim Moore should have been cut the second tonight's game ended.John Fox's game plan was conservatively gutless. Sadly for Manning, he played really well most of the game, but that awful INT in OT is all many will remember from this game in regards to his performance.
When Von got hurt and left the game in the 4th Q, I joked to my buddy that he probably did it on purpose just so that his name would finally be called. While it's true that neither of your DEs had a good game, sometimes you have to give the opponent a tip of the cap. "They are getting paid too" as the saying goes. But Moore's catastrophe was self-induced. There's no giving Jacoby Jones credit on that one. Moore simply blew it.If we're cutting Moore, do we have to cut Doom and Miller, too? #1 pass rush in the NFL this season went completely MIA in the postseason. Absolutely. Dude has a career losing record in the playoffs, and has never really had any postseason success to speak of. Plus, if Bill Cowher, the patron saint of conservative coaching, couldn't win a title, then no other conservative coach has a prayer.Fox has to go if they have any chance at winning a Superbowl.

Right. And Fox has a winning record in the postseason (6-5 after today), including numerous playoff successes (a SB appearance, an NFCCG appearance, and last season's upset over Pittsburgh- which was a bigger upset than today's upset to Baltimore).
