Flirted with The Turk this week. A combination of bad luck and egregious user error almost doomed me. I went with the 2 QB choice -- Romo (easily my worst decision thus far) and Fitz. I didn't bother to check Fitz's opponent during Romo's bye week. Needless to say that was a mistake on my part. Then Amendola got hurt and my 2 defenses (Balt and KC) dominated but didn't score any points in this format and my 3 TEs all went "m'eh" at the same time. Thank you, Percy Harvin and James Jones.
I advanced, but it was not pretty. But hey, since all of my players have a fixed number of bad weeks in them, I'm that much better moving forward. At least that's what I'm going to tell myself to feel better about my team.

Slam-dunked 214.05 on the board this week...(Well hello Mr. Josh Gordon). In hindsight, I obviously should have grabbed a few more players with week 5 byes as this was overkill.
My last three weeks I've averaged 210.63. Iggy, care to stroke my ego and tell me where that ranks compared to the field over the last three weeks?
I feel good about next week, but Week 7 and 8 may be the death of me. Week 7 I'm looking at no QB with Ryan on bye and Locker still chicken-winged. Week 8 without Benson and Foster, I'm rolling with an RB corps of Evan Royster and Taiwan Jones. Yikes!!
Out of curiosity, I wanted to compare my team this year to my team last year (28th place overall). The best metric I can think of to compare the two seasons is average weekly percent score above the cutline. To use that metric, you have to throw out week 1. Here's what I got through Week 5:
Last year: average 22.45% above the cutline
This year: average 39.07% above the cutline
Another possible metric would be using the "How close was I to getting Turk'ed" meter.
Last year: 4.89% above the cutline (week 4)
This year: 24.75% above the cutline (week 4)
So I'm quite pleased with the progress so far, but the Benson news this morning has me a bit freaked out.

+1I sure hope Romeo is in this contest and has Cassel as his lone backup to Brees too. If he is out, which is looking to be the case, I could be in some trouble. Just need one of my stud TEs to pick up the slack...thank u tony g!

Hey Iggy...if you get a chance, can you tell me how many people will be without a QB this week? Either by choice or injuries (maybe too early in the week to know that with RG3, Cassel ect)
How many people are down to only 1 "backup" qb? Backup meaning it was their second choice money wise.

pretty sure that's how many points already scored by a player in the same spot on their roster, so the named player has to score more than that to count.

Main concerns: Locker as 3rd qb with Flacco and Luck. Benson may be done for the year. Both DEF have byes in Week 8.
Went with quantity and value (in my eyes). Why i stuck with Royster in stead of Morris, i have no idea

Gets complicated sometimes when you have multiple positions left as the flex can come into play.-QG
Cleared the cut line by 35-40 every week. Could have gone without a QB every week. Makes me feel a little better about the upcoming bye weeks even though it doesn't look good on paper. It's hard to digest that everyone is dealing with the same problems of missing players.
