Kassian breaks Gagne's jaw on a high stick in the preseason that was no way accidental, as much as he tried to make it look that way. Tonight he taunts him, saying "what's that" pointing to his jaw guard. That's a perfect 10.0 in the category of being an agitator. Puck daddy blog has the video. I watched the end of the game but didn't know who Kassian was talking to.

And the Oilers just let it happen. Somebody (Gazdic) should have grabbed Kassian and rag dolled him. My team is gutless.

Wild awful in Columbus tonight. Just brutal. Jackets kicked their asses in every facet.

Chance of a Parise and Stoner 2 on 1 is about 1000:1 and it happened twice tonight. About their only good two scoring chances too. So weird.
It's tough to see any positives in the Minnesota Devils. Boring team in a wide open conference.
lol, sup Burt
Sorry I hurt your feelings. A few years ago, you'd completely understand your team is boring as hell and not really all that competitive in the Western Conference. Recently, you've become this blind homer that is all Minnesota this and Minnesota that.

You used to be one of the few who I thought had some insight into hockey but now you are worse than the Penguins homers who everyone trashes.
Why not stick with Burt, had some decent shtick going?Call it boring all you want, but this team plays nothing like New Jersey. That's your ignorance.

Wide open West, really got your finger on the pulse there :lmao:

Sorry I hurt your feelings again. For someone so passive-aggressive, you sure are sensitive.

No ignorance on my part, your lack of awareness is showing.
At the risk of my feelings being completely devastated, you mind telling me how this Wild team resembles New Jersey's style of play and how a conference where the 9th place team is on pace for 99 points is wide open? While you're at it, why don't you tell me how I can be a little less homer-ish when I rip the Wild for a brutal loss in Columbus. All I can do is learn from you, show me the way. Careful, my feelings are on the line.

they are the best team in the league. maybe show some enjoyment once in awhile? I know it must be really hard being a fan of the best team in hockey when they don't play a perfect game every night.
I enjoy the hell out this team. I just think it's funny how you bust my balls when I complain about one of the leagues worst PK units, and wonder what hell happened from last year to this year. Last year they were very good, aggressive on the puck, challenging every shot. This year they are quite often collapsing into a very passive box. It's a legit concern. I am not all woe is me the Hawks suck. Their PK sucks bad and it's a huge fall off from last year.
they were in the midst of a 7-2 rout last night and your only posts in here were complaints. it's just so strange to me.

I read your posts and think the Hawks must be getting embarassed on the ice. then I check the score or watch the game and they are usually toying with the other team.

your ratio of positive posts to negative posts regarding the Hawks are like 1 out of 10. that's what it seems like anyway.
 Guess I don't like to post crap like the Pens fan when they are dominating, not a fan of gloating. And when I actually posted that it was tied 2-2 and the Hawks just allowed 2 PPGs.
 I probably run the same ratio of negativity, the problems of a team are what generate sports talk here or anywhere. We have the Hawks thread for rosterbating.

Engelland is gonna be suspended for a headshot on Abdelkater. Got 5 minutes and an ejection. Shoulder to the head knocked him outta the game.

Hope Thornton is ok with his 15 game suspension. Somehow through all this he's become the sympathetic figure who was sticking up for a teammate.

Wild with the greatest shootout win in the history of the NHL tonight. Nino easily locks up the Hart with the brilliant tip in the 3rd. Suter no doubt for Norris and Harding is brilliant again and a shoe in for Vezina. Might as well just call it a season and give them the cup now. While you're at it just contract the Avs...terrible. Should be Minnesota Hockey League, no point in acknowledging anyone else.

That good enough?

No he hasn't.

Yes he has. Dave Reid on NHL network sympathized with him, said he was just sticking up for a teammate. Kelly Chase said something to that effect, but wasn't as straight forward as Reid. Every time the situation is talked about it's mentioned that Thornton is great teammate, stand up guy, follows "the code". None of those things matter when compared to the crap he pulled that night.

B's fans will bring up the Neal suspension. I'd be fine with Neal getting more than 5 games. He's shown that he plays dirty. The knee was intentional. Give him 15 games, if the league thinks it was intentional then he deserves it. 15 might deter him from doing it again. 5 won't.

Exactly, that's what I was alluding to. It's great that he's a great dude off the ice or whatever, but that stuff is pretty well irrelevant after you just punched a defenseless player's head against the ice multiple times. And the "sticking up for a teammate" excuse is complete bull####.

San Jose Minnesota game is the worst officiated game I've seen all season. Pathetic
Let me guess, the Sharks were flopping and embellishing all over the place?
Let me guess, you think double minors for being near an opponent high sticking his teammate is the right call?
No. I saw the Sharks embellishing all through the first round of last years playoffs. Just sayin' I've seen this movie before. That Wingels guy, among others, is in line for an Academy award

Gotcha. Totally misunderstood where you are going with that.Other than Jumbo getting the hook call on a clear dive to give them a near full 5 on 3, I didn't have alot of diving complaints. Just a poorly called game, horribly inconsistent, and heavily weighted in the Sharks favor. And I rarely complain about officiating because it generally comes full circle.

Regardless, Harding had to make a couple remarkable saves just to keep them in it so it likely didnt matter, though they did play them fairly well 5 on 5. They somewhat stole one from them in Minnesota the week before though so maybe there's the even up.

Caps very fortunate yesterday in getting 2 points after being down 4-1 with around 9 minutes to go and being badly outplayed from the 2nd period to that point.

Ovie once again bails them out last minute,Orlov is playing the best he has since being a Cap and Backstrom has also been tremendous but until they address the huge holes in the team I still think they are a very average at best.

was there ever an update on Malkin? never saw one.
Heard a quick thing on it last night, something like a torn something or other. They said it wasn't as serious as it looked. That said, I have no idea how long he's out for. So basically, I know nothing.

#askhartnell on twitter. It's been fantastic.

Lucic fighting in a Couver bar on video this weekend.

Thornton was so sorry for what he did he's appealing his suspension.

He's appealing the 15 games, not the suspension itself.
Ya. What I said.
It's possible to think that Thornton deserved to get a sizeable suspension, and still believe that 15 games was too much.
Torres got 21 games reduced from 25 for his hit on Hossa. I think what Thornton did is worse than what Torres did. Torres' was a dirty hit to the head during play. Thornton's was a cheap, bush league move after the whistle that is just a hair away from what Bertuzzi did IMO. 15 was a gift and if he was at all sincere about his regret he should have taken it like a man.
