So, Lynn, Kelly, Wacha?
You're kidding, right? You don't win playoff series by having hangover games.hammerva said:Hoping that this is a Wild Card game hangover
Lance Lynn is pitching tomorrow, so if it is a hangover, good time to bounce back. You're kidding, right? You don't win playoff series by having hangover games.hammerva said:Hoping that this is a Wild Card game hangover

Brady has been too busy waffling on whether he wants to see the Pirates beat his Cards or not that he has lost track of when the games are. For shame.
Rationalize it away however you need to, GB. I'm praying to Stan for you.Not feeling too bad if the Pirates win does not = wanting the Pirates to win.Lynn is pitching today...Lance Lynn is pitching tomorrow, so if it is a hangover, good time to bounce back. You're kidding, right? While I dont recall it ever happening that early in the game with Burnett, usually more the 5th-6th inning, there has been at least a handful of starts he's had since the All Star break where he was clearly done and Hurdle just left him out on the mound to die. Not surprised to see it again but you'd think he learn his lesson at some point.Did Clint borrow Dusty Baker's coaching manual last night? I like Hurdle a lot but what was he thinking letting Burnett get pummelled like that?
It's going to be a road start, and he has a 4.57 ERA away from Busch. He has a 5.32 ERA against the Pirates this year. He has a 6.10 ERA in 2 starts in PNC.Not sure how you leave Shelby out.Bob Sacamano said:So, Lynn, Kelly, Wacha?
Yeah, I wasn't even saying you were wrong to leave him off. More just a statement to how difficult it is to actually leave him out of the rotation. That said, you can't argue with the 3 guys starting. If anything, I would have put in Miller today over Lynn. You can't sit Kelly or Wacha right now.
I thought this was a slam dunk. Lynn in the long relief role would have been the way to go imo. Though he did get it back together a little down the stretch. If he struggles to find the plate today, I hope MM doesn't hesitate to yank him for Miller.Yeah, I wasn't even saying you were wrong to leave him off. I'm not sure if having this tough of a decision is a good thing or a bad thing yet. Today will kind of let us know.
You can get the entire postseason on mlb.tv for $4.99. Considering you wont be able to find a free stream in HD, totally worth it.At work, anyone with a link to watching the game online?
Already up to 70 pitches too. Just praying he can get through the next 2 innings without any more damage and at least save the pen.Lance Lynn makes me want to poke my eyes out with hot pokers.

I want Cole out there. He's only given up more than 2 runs once since August 8th, and is 5-0 in his last 6 starts. Im also not worried about him being a rookie because dude has icewater in his veins.Who starts game 5 now if needed? I think Hurdle will go Burnett but I'd be happy with Cole.

Burnett is a leader of the team. I really don't think you can do this. I am really hoping we don't see game 5. If we do, I don't really like the Pirates chances either way.fred_1_15301 said:+ 1 for Cole with Burnett in relief.....Kenny Powers said:I want Cole out there. I don't care if he's a leader of the team. The Cards couldn't touch Cole and quite frankly not many teams have in the past month. His stuff is electric and he seems to be able to handle pressure. I think Cole gives them the best shot in a game 5 situation on the road. I agree that Hurdle will probably go with Burnett though. I pray it doesn't get to that because Burnett in St Louis scares the crap out of me.Burnett is a leader of the team. I really don't think you can do this. I am really hoping we don't see game 5. Yeah, I say #### leadership. If Burnett wanted the chance to be on the mound in Game 5 if it gets to that point, he shouldn't have given up 7 runs in 2 innings. He's probably not coming back next year anyway, so why not show you have confidence in your young stud who has earned that right.I don't care if he's a leader of the team.
