**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (3 Viewers)

I watch more Astros games than any person should, because I'm a degenerate gambler. Jason Castro has such a beautiful stroke. I'd be surprised if he's not hitting .300 year-in and year-out down the line. And Springer is such a good-looking prospect, though you don't see that reflected in his numbers just yet. That team is gonna be a handful in a few years when all of their young talent matures. Until, of course, they trade all of them.

Segura needs plastic surgery (read stitches). Probably won't go on the dl though, at least early reports are saying
Caught one in the on-deck circle? Missed the story there.
Braun warming up at the top of the dugout. Brings the bat back with the weight on it right into Segura's face.
Don't Jews usually like the blacks? I know they all like me, especially the broads. ;)
Segura is Dominican. Do they count as blacks? Where's icon when you need him?

Chris Davis to the DL. Ugh

He was pressing in every at bat since his power numbers started the season off slowly. Over swinging on almost every pitch and I guess the oblique couldn't handle it.

Anyone could correct me, I don't know that they will. I think they knew that they were in a bad situation and just decided to rebuild from scratch. I think they are committed to being good long term, not like a marlins situation.

Everyone is awful. There. I said it.
Hang on, I'm not done yet.

What's with striking out, then glaring at the pitcher? Lester just humiliated Reyes on three straight pitches. After the third one, Reyes glares at Lester for ten seconds like a tough guy as he's walking back to the dugout. Here's an idea... SIT THE #### DOWN!!!

I nominate Mark Ellis as the worst-hitting non-pitcher currently in the major leagues.
Definitely in the team picture.

If you look closely, that's Colby Rasmus standing right behind Carlos Santana
I nominate Freddy Galvis for President. Going 1 for 27 on the season for a lusty .037 and playing in his 5th straight game.
J.P. Arencibia can give him a run for his money.
Don't sleep on Matt Kemp. He just made De La Rosa look like a legitimate major league pitcher.

Dan Uggla thinks you guys are funny for not mentioning him.

Oh, and after losing Medlen and Beachy before the season started, Atlanta's starting rotation through 24 games has around a 1.63 ERA. Totally crazy.

One of the worst blown calls today in the Reds/Braves game. Cueto pickoff and was CLEARLY out. Not even a little close. Reviewed and still called safe?

WTF is the point of replay when you can't get obvious #### like that right? Someone needs to lose their job based on the implementation of this 'system'.

If they were saying that was too close to overturn then pickoffs shouldn't be reviewable. It's basically impossible to pick someone off by more than that.

Who's this Christopher Russo guy coming to MLBN?
Awful
I'm generally a MLB Network fanboy, but even I can't support this hire. Maybe one of the worst decisions since the launch of the network.
I guarantee you every New Yorker in here thinks he's fantastic

Not trying to insult anyone, it's just a cultural oddity
huh? read a few pages back. All of us that knew of him thought he was awful

never heard of mike and the mad dog? He was the mad dog. Mike francesas long time co-host
not exactly a ringing endorsement
wasnt supposed to be. The guy is an idiot. SF giants fan like you, who is not an idiot
OK Im the only one who commented in this thread but a number of us rip on him in the Mike & Mad Dog thread.

Much like john sterling and michael kay were awesome together but a disaster separately, mike and the mad dog have gone the same route. Both are unlistenable without each other

I used to turn on MLB in the mornings and sometimes it would be on all day in the background without me even realizing it. Not anymore. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. TV goes off instantly when he comes on.

1000x :goodposting:

I do the same thing.

Didn't see it mentioned, but the White Sox' winning pitcher from yesterday was 29 YO Scott Carroll finally making his MLB debut. Pretty cool.

Apparently, he was Kyle Orton's back up at Purdue too.

don't remember hearing his name when he was at Purdue...but then again, I'm a horrible fan.

Heard it on MLB Network, so I could've heard it wrong.

Plus schools only have about 25 back-up QBs so it's easy for one to go unnoticed.

Another incorrect ruling on replay in the St. Louis/Milwaukee game. Why do we even bother with this if they aren't going to use the tools they have to fix things?
