Can't believe Klinsman looks like he didn't sweat at all. I've been to Salvador and just standing around makes you sweat.

Great game, however you feel about the outcome

Chris Wondolowski won't sleep for a month after that sitter in the 93rd minute.

Got run off the field overall, but they sure did make the end exciting for all those new fans.

At some point it would be nice to stop watching and talking about "plucky" Americans and see a team that can destroy with the best of them

Bradley won't be to blame for this. Nobody was helping him out any time he had the ball. Didn't seem like they were trying to get open for him.

One minute is a #@$^# joke. Each goal takes a minute from which to reset
It was worse than that because added time started right at the same time as a goal kick so the ball was never even in play until 120:31 and they blew the whistle at 120:57. It was basically 26 seconds of added time.

Congrats to Belgium. Clearly the better side.

The US got the most they could out of a very average team.

That ends a really fun cycle and I can't wait for the next cycle to start in September. We might be saying good bye to many players and starting to integrate new ones in for next summers Gold Cup.

Well there's this, from the rather hard to please folks over at the Guardian

Result: Belgium 2-1 USA - Belgium advance to the quarter-finals

Peep! Peep! Peeeeeeeeeep! It's all over. Belgium are through. By the skin of their teeth, Belgium have prevailed in one of the greatest football matches I have ever seen. Romelu Lukaku turned the game, but USA deserve immense credit for their contribution. They will be devastated, but can be very proud of themselves. Their energy levels, their desire, their dedication and their refusal to give up were simply astonishing.
Since they don't mind slagging off the US at any opportunity, I feel better about things.

Klinsmann has to wonder what would have happened if he turned them loose earlier. To me, the story for the US were the wingers. We went defensive with Zusi and zBedoya and they just didn't give us the presence we needed going forward. Hard to know what might have happened asking more of our fullbacks defensively, but I think we needed to pull that trigger to chase games earlier.

Good run.

####.

And #### you to all the ####ers jumping in here to piss and #### on this
Easy, fella....I think all of is are proud of our team and also bummed at the outcome. It's team USA, which represents all of us with ties to our great nation...soccer geeks, soccer noobs, soccer trolls alike. You're a good egg, Floppo...

Ughhh. Just feel destroyed. Maybe it's better if the Vikings never make another Super Bowl. That really might kill me. Lakers have won multiple. Kings multiple. Dodgers got me one and maybe another this year. Maybe I'm just being greedy. :X

Yeah, we knew coming in that our wide players were our weak spot. Lets hope that changes early in the new cycle.

Against Portugal, stoppage time started at 4' and when it took us 15 seconds to sub out J. Jones they changed it to 5'. In this game it was 1' and when it took them 35 seconds for a goal kick they did nothing and blew it dead 20 seconds later. They need some freaking rules around the clock, it's so weird to have so much stuff just up to the discretion of the referee and how he feels on that day.

I'm a new soccer fan. This was/is amazing. Great WC.

I think the USA did well but it's not about that. ####### great sport. Took awhile to take to it but glad I did.

Man, I can't get over how intense that was. Something about rooting for your country's team that makes other professional sports pale in comparison.
