Cameron is a little bit better two-way player, but otherwise I think we'll see basically the same from the US.

I don't believe we'll actually play the way tweet shows us lined up.

think US fans are dumb enough to not know the difference. They seem to think we're favorites against Belgium. While they know Messi, they'll probably look at Switzerland taking them to OT and think the same thing.
Link?
I can't really link random conversations that I've had or overheard. One guy said as long as Jozy was healthy, we should win.
You should prob start hanging out with smarter people.
Smarter people in terms of soccer? Then I'd probably have to leave the country.
You don't think there's anyone in the USA who knows more than some idiot who thinks USA will win because Jozy is healthy?
Starting to seriously question sporthenry's intelligence too.

Is there a dummies guide to the different types lineups and what those lineups strengths/weaknesses are? :bag:
This is the best I have seen. It does not insult your intelligence but still makes things pretty clear

If this isn’t complicated enough, every once in a while a team will basically play without a striker. If Spain does this at the World Cup, as it has on occasion, feel free to throw your hands up in frustration and scream at the heavens about the absurdity of positional definitions in the modern era.

:lmao:

"although soccer adds a wrinkle by sometimes splitting the midfielders into two groups. Instead of calling a formation a 4-5-1 (four defenders, five midfielders, and a striker), it may get called a 4-2-3-1, 4-4-1-1, or a 4-1-4-1 in an effort to more accurately describe what’s going on."

I hate this. (even though i did it up above). I know its old school and it may more accurately describe where people start to me its still a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3. Just a pet peeve and it really is insignificant but I had to put it out there.

 US could have called this a 4-2-3-1 pretty easily, but did not - they seemed adamant to call it 4-3-3, and not the 4-5-1 they have been using. Not having Beckeman anchored in the back in front of the back line is a fairly significant departure from the first 3 games.

Makes me wonder what Voigts saw scouting Belgium that he thinks this will work. I didn't watch them religiously, but we play fairly skinny anyway, so maybe the thinking is when Bradley goes forward you want Cameron and Jones pinching in.

Well I think Juergen doesn't want them to sit back like against Germany. Also might like Cameron against Hazard hence why it might not be the 2 holding mids in front of the back line.

From what I've seen of Belgium, they've played almost exclusively down the flanks. Their build up through the middle has been non-existent so far.

I might be totally wrong with this - but it seems to me that a lot of Bradley's struggles coincided with Altidore's injury. I like the idea of opening things up higher and maybe creating a little more space for him.

One thing I do really like about JK, the smiling, he seems to love coaching/being a part of the game. Yeah, there's pressure..but freaking enjoy it
Germans are renowned for their sunny dispositions
While I've found the Men In Blazers a bit too shticky this World Cup, their line about the German free kick routine even making the corner of Ballack's mouth turn up made me laugh out loud.

I will drink Stella in honor of your defeat after the match, Fighting Sprouts! USA!

i'm nervous for a soccer match...MAN I love sport.

Are all of you also referring to the USMNT as "we" or is cappella the only one?

Almost time for soccer tangent.
If it makes you feel better, I also refer to canada soccer as "those losers".
OOOH Burn. You got me.

Canada is very happy to keep it on the ice where WE'VE been kicking your ### for quite some time.
And we're better at everything else. :bye:
 Coming from a hick who lives in TB. Have a nice life, loser! :bye:
This is rich coming from the guy who has to brag to people on the internets about how rich he is to feed his shallow ego.Go start another Ferrari thread, we all are jealous.
If you had anything to brag about, I am sure we'd all know about it.

Instead, you seem to have focused your efforts on being an internet troll and bully extraordinaire. Congrats! Keep up the good work.
Yes I'm the internet troll. You mentioned me first cowboy. I have plenty to be proud of, but I don't need anybody here to make me realize it. :bye:

Felix Magath vas nicht amüsed

For the Germany game, ussoccer tweeted the formation as 4-5-1, with the two deep midfielders and Bradley, Davis and Zusi up higher, behind Dempsey.

They are generally pretty accurate with how they show the line-up/

Just an FYI - a lot of cheers when the US team took the field for warmups. and a smattering of boos when Belgium took the field - sounds like it could be a good US crowd.

Cameron starting in CM?
No looks like Bradley will be at CM, with Cameron at RM, and Jones at LM
Right, I didn't see that when I posted it.Have to think they'll all be playing more centrally though, right? Almost like an LCM and RCM. Perhaps Jones and Cameron lying a little deeper, pseudo-triangle in the center mid with Bradley as the point-man?
That's what I'd expect. Whatever width the US has is going to be provided by Johnson & DMB.

That is where I think it will be - the tension will be how much does Bradley push forward - I think JK wants him to move forward frequently, but Bradley himself will stay back.

chet/Capella is the West Ham/Millwall of iFeuds. Heated, passionate, and completely inexplicable to me.

Guy's been bullying/trolling since forever and I guess I fell into his trap. He's just another internet tough guy/loser who's accomplished nothing but an internet persona.

I will move on and stop hijacking the thread.
