It's always nice to see a negative team punished. Especially when it's Brazil playing at home in the freakin' World Cup.

But doesn't this also justify some defensive minded schemes. Because now teams won't want to be embarrassed off the field.

Right. They still had a ton to play for against the US. People are stoned if they think they took the game off. That goes against everything the German team stands for.

Didn't take the game off but 3rd games in group stages have weird dynamics. No doubt they weren't opening themselves up for the counter b/c a tie did it for them. But Low was visibly upset at the misses at the end.

I don't know if they took off, but they looked like they were just playing to not lose against us, where in this game it looks like they are playing to win. My soccer IQ is equivalent to a potato, but I just think if it was a win or go home game USA vs the team I just shut off bc this game is over, I feel like they role the USA by 3-5 goals.

Germany beat a team 8-1 a couple of WC's ago.

They won't kill themselves with a 5-0 lead but the way Brazil is defending they may not have to.
