***OFFICIAL 2014 WORLD SERIES THREAD: KC vs. SF*** (1 Viewer)

Nice outing. Almost made it out of the 2nd. Twitter-bombing Peavy up next.
Oops. I guess he had enough of me all summer. :lmao:

Can one of you pick up the slack please?

"CLUTCH outing tonight, douchebag!"

"You weren't even out there long enough to yell at yourself."

"Still a chance to luck your way into another ring!"

Etc, Etc.

I'd just put Lincecum in for the final 6 innings. Even if he's awful. Losing 7-0 or 14-0 doesn't matter. Only tomorrow matters now.

When you try the Royals with a sorry pitcher like Peavy that is the results you are going to get.

Is Lincecum healthy?

Forget using him tonight... roll out Big Time Timmy Jim as the starter tomorrow and let the magic happen.

Buncha cheap ### dodger hits.

Glad they get all this #### out now. Wow.

I'm on TiVo delay. At least KC got their first real hit of the inning from butler. Buncha garbage...but that's the way we play too.

Respect to KC

The three Royals loses have been two Bumgarner gems and one meltdown by the back half of the pitching staff.

Peavy is hittable and Ventura is on full rest. If Ventura has a similar performance to what he did in Game 2 (23 batters faced, 2 runs given up, exit in the 6th) the game is winnable.

The descriptive-but-not-predictive history is on KC's side, too. Home teams in Games 6 and 7 of the World Series have won 22 of their last 25. 15 of the last 17 Series that went 6 or 7 games were won by the team hosting 6 & 7.
The 82 Brewers have a bye this week.
That's when the "trend" started. The 81 Dodgers closed out the Series in 6 at Yankee Stadium. Since then, it's been just one of the Blue Jays title teams and the Josh Beckett Marlins to close out a long series on the road. So this means the road team is due, and I clearly cannot choose the glass in front of me.
The game tonight reminds me a lot of Game 6 in 1982. All that's needed is John ###king Stuper and a few rain delays.

I was less than a year removed from Wisconsin so I was all over the Wallbangers all summer. Watching Stuper pitch the game of his life on that very long night is one of my least favorite baseball memories

Whitey kept sending Stuper out there after each rain delay because he wasn't sure how long Andujar was going to last the next night. Joaquin took a hit off his knee in Game 3 and had to be carried off the field. Sutter frequently pitched the 8th and 9th during the season so Whitey knew Sutter might even be an option to finish the 7th, but the rest of the bullpen was thin.

This sounds stupid, but every pitch you throw in Game Six means something. Hoping the Royals can get through this with minor damage to the bullpen.

By the way, D. Lowe started on two days rest in 2004 in the ALCS and dominated Game Seven. 6 IP, 1 ER, a few hits (two?), etc.

Can't wait for this. Won't comment much except for wooting.

Kind of passively watching but whoever it is that keeps selling how great this is, is cracking me up. I mean blowouts are never great. Was it the same guy who earlier asked if football season had started? What a clown.

It will be interesting to see how many eyeballs FOX gets for game 7. Entering tonight, this was on pace to be the least-watched World Series ever.

I turned this one off early but Game 7s always have some more interest.

 This WS has been bad for my liver, but going to have to suck it up for 1 more game.

It's game 7, can we please have a thread about it in the FFA? JFC, it has to be better than ebola.

That game was an awesome live experience. Sat in the same section as the giants owner and he can ead.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow but I'm nervous we used up to many runs tonight.
