**Official 2015 Off-Season Dynasty Completed Trades Thread** (2 Viewers)

Green seems to be very polarizing in our league for some reason. Half the owners said I sold Green cheap and the other half said I stole the 1.9.

No way I do it just for the 1.1. And while I do think I undersold a bit, I wanted to cuff Murray and I like Mathews to have a good year in that offense.

I think you undersold a little, but it isn't that bad. Certainly not as bad as DT for 1.04 or a few other deals lately. I'm actually cautiously optimistic about Mathews, I think he'll get enough limited use to be more than just a handcuff (maybe an RB3?) while staying healthy and being a fantastic handcuff for Murray too.

Team A Gets:

Jeremy Hill

2.04

2016 1st

Team B Gets:

Le'Veon Bell
Any idea where the 2016 1st projects?

Only way I think about dealing Bell for this is if I pretty much knew for a fact that 2016 1st belonged to a terrible team.
I would say probably a playoff team at this point. 1st and a 2nd though seems like pretty good value to go down 5 spots in RB ranking.
The bolded is really meaningless to me. Imagine saying this about TE, and going down 5 spots from Gronk? Some years the #1 RB isn't light years ahead of the #6. This year Bell is. And its not like Hill is the slam dunk #6 either.

Hill and a later future 1st, plus a 2nd this year, is not enough for Bell. Actually, that is a pretty bad return from what Bell SHOULD fetch.

I could see taking something like Hill and pick 2 or 3 this year. But if selling Bell not even sure that makes me do it.

FFPC 12-team TE Premium

Team A

AJ Green and 3.4

Team B

1.1, 1.9, Ryan Mathews, and 3.2 (team also has DeMarco)

Flame away! :D
Just baffled at how picks 3.2 and 3.4 get tossed into this. Makes no sense.

Green side but close.
When I have a deal I liked always ask for more like this swap of 3rds. This year it could mean the difference in getting someone I want in such a deep draft.

Why not improve draft slots at every chance?

Some people don't like to knock on the glass when it comes to reaching.

what a player is worth to one person may not necessarily be worth the same to another. how you value a player may not be how others value a player. a pretty basic fantasy football fundamental.

I'm a definite no on Cooks for 1.03, I think he's being hyped too much. But I expect in most leagues, there are multiple people who value him there, especially as long as New Orleans hasn't acquired or drafted another legitimate WR. I think a lot of his perceived value right now is that he's Brees's "only" target. He's a promising rookie besides that, but that's why people are willing to give up top 3 rookie picks for him imo.
He was a pretty high pick in just about every PPR draft last year, looked good when he played, and has opportunity. If his value only SLIGHTLY went up, that puts him right near pick 3.

In my two current FFPC leagues, last year he was drafted at pick 3 in one and pick 5 in the other.

Did he lose value??
Sure. Brees looks to be starting his decline, the Saints are going through what could turn into a huge upheaval, Cooks will be facing a lot more defensive pressure without Graham, the Saints' run game might become more featured, etc etc. A bunch of the 2014 rookies shined more than him anyway, so I'd expect he wouldn't go 1.03 or 1.05 if people could re-do the draft now, right? I still think he'll be decent to good, especially in full PPR, I'm just not as high on him as some of you other guys are. I think a lot of his perceived value is based on his situation, and I'm not sure it's actually as good a situation as "Brees' main WR" looks like. But we'll see, I could be too low on him. I'd still super easily deal Jordy for him and the 1.01, but I'd look to sell on Cooks before New Orleans brings in another WR and dampens Cooks' perceived value a little.
im still confused as to why brees is in a decline?

he had a 69% completion pct which was good for 2nd in the league while having the most completions and attempts in the nfl and led the league in passing yards with just a few shy of 5k and had 34 total tds not to mention a qb rating good for 6th in the league.

where is the decline again?

16 teams PPR - 53 Men Rosters (IDP)

Team A: Alex Smith, Allen Hurns, Latavius Murray, Rookie 1.08

Team B: Newton, Huff, Garoppolo
Tough call.Probably the 1.08 but if Alex Smith is my new QB I might not make that deal
Im the one buying Cam. Heard that two guys in top 8 are going to draft a qb so im losing the chance to get one of the top 6 rookies In addition to Murray.

I take the cam side but it's certainly fair.

Each of year for the last 4 years, yardage and TDs have declined. I definitely don't think he's past it or anything, but he has been declining. Looks like in standard scoring, he finished as QB5, after being QB2, QB1, and QB2 the previous three years. He also just lost his best red zone target, one of his two promising rookie targets, and rumors are that the organization wants to lean more on the run game. He's still easily a top 10 QB, but he's getting older and less of a sure thing top 3 QB.

just 2 points behind wilson in my standard ppr for 4th (was 4th after 15 weeks) and did not score less then 16 points but once all season.

your splitting hairs on the decline to back up your case. he threw over 5k each of those 3 years and still lead the league this year. he had the same type of year he had in 2010 in which the following two years he blew up. anything compared to those 5,100+ yards and 43+ tds seasons will be a decline.

im not shocked though that people seem those type of stats should be the every year norm. those are not normal stats 5k and 40 is not normal. manning has never in his career thrown back to back 40 td and 5k seasons let alone having back to back 40 td or 5k seasons at any point.

manning has only throw for 5k once and over 40 tds twice in his entire career. most things brees does will be a decline in stats hardly a decline in his talent.

to add more

brady has only thrown over 40 tds once and had a 5k season once. not in the same season and not more than once so no chance at back to back.

rodgers has never thrown for 5k and has only thrown 40 tds once.

just providing a little perspective to those stats since everyone expects those stats from brees every year when those stats are hard for anyone to achieve more than once let alone every single year.

16 team league QB's are tougher to come by and Cam is a guy I own/trust in a few so I understand having a stable QB1. Hurts a little knowing DGB/Parker is a possibility @1.08 but I don't think you are missing out on much with LMurray

I think reports of Brees's decline are really overblown, but you asked why people would say Brees is in a decline. The reason: his numbers have been... get this... declining, whether you look at fantasy points or real life production.

Total fantasy points: 2014: 304, 2013: 356, 2012: 345, 2011: 387

Fantasy points per game: 2014: 18.9, 2013: 22.4, 2012: 21.6, 2011: 24.2

It isn't about whether I expect some passing or TD totals to be an every year norm or not. They were for Brees, and it looks like those times might be past him. He's still a great QB, like I said easily top 10. But I wouldn't expect him to be top 3 next year, which is where he has comfortably been for the past few seasons before last. That's partly due to Brees's trajectory, but a lot due to the changes that the Saints have made this off season.

Which is all totally beside the point, as I was originally just bringing up reasons why I am not willing to pay the 1.03 or more for Brandin Cooks (and I'm pretty sure we agree on that, haha  ). A lot of the negatives for Brees (losing Graham, losing Stills) are positives for Cooks, but in general I'm cautious about paying a ton for someone like Cooks or Watkins that is a promising rookie (which is already a relatively risky asset) on a team going through a pretty uncertain situation (will their team's start prioritizing the run game? will new personnel come in and steal the spotlight?).

Because after a short while of doing that every deal, every other team will hate dealing with you.

But hey, if you dont think so..................

Well, other than the obvious that Brees does not LOOK as good as he has in the past.................Graham is gone and they are shifting to more of a running approach, probably to help save Brees's life as a football player for a bit longer.

I'll eat my own poo if Brees duplicates those numbers

I will want a video to verify that...

Not sure I believe this whole Saints becoming a running team. Payton has always run the ball but his offense is a passing offense. Losing Graham was a big hit as evidenced by the Saints incompetence to move the ball without him last year. I think losing Stills hurts some too but imo more is being made of this declining skills, running offense than I am putting into it. They traded away their best G and added a C...not exactly beefing up the line although I do think the C fits better in NO.

Brees is the Saints best player...he was while Jimmy was there too. I think they just want to reload and getting a LB and a 3rd for Stills is a coup imo. The kid has potential and looked good but if they can now draft a more prototypical #1 WR with a 1st they can address the D later in the draft

i win many titles, as a matter of fact i am current champ in two of my three dynasties and i pay whatever i need to get my guys to help me win those titles, not to help me win trades in april.

good owners get the pieces it takes to win no matter what and do not worry about opinions on message boards. i do not ever post any of my trades here because i do not care what others think of my deals and judge them in a vacuum but i like seeing other deals i think most good owners do that but when you start running your team and making trades based off value of others on the internet you may be one of those bad owners.

Long time Brees dynasty owner, and I would love to agree with you...but if you watched him play last year you did not see the same player you had seen in the previous 3. Granted, the numbers were still good, but he was turning the ball over way too much, and often on critical drives late in the game. Drives that in other seasons would have likely netted you 5-7 more points instead ended up costing you 2. The numbers were still good, but the player was not the same caliber player we have been watching for the past few years. The guy who could single handedly win you a week, was not doing it last year. It was apparent. Unfortunate, but true.

im not shocked though that people seem those type of stats should be the every year norm. those are not normal stats 5k and 40 is not normal. manning has never in his career thrown back to back 40 td and 5k seasons let alone having back to back 40 td or 5k seasons at any point.

manning has only throw for 5k once and over 40 tds twice in his entire career. most things brees does will be a decline in stats hardly a decline in his talent.
Unfortunate, but true.
seems you validate my point that people expect 5k and 40 tds from him every year even though i explained how rare it was.

he turned it over 20 times last year, he turned it over 20 times in 2012 and 22 in 2010 and 19 in 2007. it happens.

turnovers count as turnovers in fantasy football it does not matter in points when in the game they happen.

Each of year for the last 4 years, yardage and TDs have declined. I definitely don't think he's past it or anything, but he has been declining. Looks like in standard scoring, he finished as QB5, after being QB2, QB1, and QB2 the previous three years. He also just lost his best red zone target, one of his two promising rookie targets, and rumors are that the organization wants to lean more on the run game. He's still easily a top 10 QB, but he's getting older and less of a sure thing top 3 QB.

I actually dont expect those numbers anymore. That was more my point.

ETA - Still love having him on my team, and I had better. I tried to trade him last year (have Ben also) and I couldnt get much for him. He is viewed as old and in decline, and anyone who watched him regularly last year would have a tough time disputing it. The fact that he starts his decline from such a high perch means he still has value, but I dont see him as a guy who is going to dominate the stat sheets like he did a few years ago. Still a blue chipper, but barely and not for much longer.

When I have a deal I liked always ask for more like this swap of 3rds. This year it could mean the difference in getting someone I want in such a deep draft. Why not improve draft slots at every chance?
Because after a short while of doing that every deal, every other team will hate dealing with you.

But hey, if you dont think so..................
That's weird because it happens to me all the time the other way. Maybe your leagues just have more refined owners.

more value to get those players does not equal to more points. while value gets you the players you want maybe the player he wanted was nelson.
So get him another way. Not just pay 500 bucks for something that should cost 250
what a player is worth to one person may not necessarily be worth the same to another. how you value a player may not be how others value a player. a pretty basic fantasy football fundamental.
Right. There are good owners and bad owners. I dont see the good owners making deals where they give away a ton of value for a guy, even if they HIGHLY value the guy.

The good owners find another way
i win many titles, as a matter of fact i am current champ in two of my three dynasties and i pay whatever i need to get my guys to help me win those titles, not to help me win trades in april.

good owners get the pieces it takes to win no matter what and do not worry about opinions on message boards. i do not ever post any of my trades here because i do not care what others think of my deals and judge them in a vacuum but i like seeing other deals i think most good owners do that but when you start running your team and making trades based off value of others on the internet you may be one of those bad owners.
What are the stakes and how do i get in?

Sort of selfish.
I post my trades in here. I also don't care what others think or how the judgement comes out in a vacuum but think the more deals out and available for people to see the less stupid ones I might see in my inbox someday

Just completed one myself. No PPR, straight dynasty:

Gave:

Calvin

Trent Richardson

Received:

D.Murray

Martavis Bryant

DeAngelo Williams (cuff for Bell)

Tough to trade Calvin, but I like the return a lot.

Not a whole lot of true RB1s out there, and while Murray took a hit by moving, I dont know that it is a huge hit. Still a good OL and a powerful offense that will put up puntos. A plug and play every week RB is a valuable commodity. Especially in non PPR.

Big fan of Martavis too. 6'4, 210 with wheels. Great red zone guy (8 TDs on just 48 targets), and just Marcus Wheaton to compete with for snaps on the other side of Antonio. Obviously, he is not in Calvin's class, but he is young, and has a pretty high ceiling IMO.
