I was not joking at all. I think the 1.3 is the safe play and popular on this MB. But setting aside the issue of the compositions of the rosters of the respective traders, in a league with large rosters and taxi squads and therefore a diluted FA pool, the importance of picking up multiple good players cannot be understated. Yes, the 1.3 is more valuable than the combined worth of the 10th and 24th picks, but if either Blackmon (I think this is unlikely) or Gordon (a little more likely, but no sure thing) "hit", the team which acquired the multiple assets wins going away. And hey, if those guys both end up in a cell somewhere together and never play again, the team which traded the 1.3 purchased a pretty cheap lottery ticket with the grand prize a monster dyno team. I guess it's a matter of risk tolerance. I would roll the dice in a calculated gamble.

I can totally see this angle.

I mean even if only one of those guys ever plays a single game or two again you may get a pretty solid asset in return

Let's be honest it's not just a "chance". It's more likely than not one of those 4 will be there. Take a look at pre-draft rookie ADP from the past couple years and compare it to post draft on DLF and DFW. The top 5 players do not repeat ever and usually 2-3 players move in and out of the top 5. Landing spot matters.

I dealt the 2 1sts because I want an extra year of performance from a player I want to get at 1.5. Is it so hard for you to imagine that not everyone thinks like you or prints out DLF or whatever ADP you want to use and follow it religiously?

Like I said, I'm happy taking WR3 there for the cost of 2 FUTURE 1sts. If you disagree, that's okay.

It's unlikely. Way too unlikely to be dealing multiple 1sts and other pieces for that chance

Let's put it this way, in my idiotic mind, it is more likely those are the top 4 picks than it is that they aren't the top 4 picks.

In my idiotic mind, it is also more likely your team would benefit my correctly using two 2016 1sts than pick 5 will both this year and in the future (and most certainly will more than pick 7 like the earlier deal)

Agreed, there has got to be some very important missing context. I don't know why you'd unload two of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy football to move up from 1.10 to 1.8. (And I don't see pick 2.9 having serious relevance.) Even with a short bench those are guys you'd want to keep. Salary cap concerns seem unlikely. What in the world happened?

That would be some weird salary cap where a 2nd and 3rd year player skyrocket themselves out of being worth having.

Some day, some league will hold an actual live meeting for something like this, and post the video for all to see.

It's a rarity these days that all league members can schedule to all be in the same place at the same time, or even live close enough to each other to make it happen, but this would be pay per view worthy.
