*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (1 Viewer)

Austin being on the team is one of those Andy Reid things. If he were cut today idk that anyone would pick him up. Not getting that other foot down is pathetic for someone with his experience

This is definitely one of, if not the most, galling games of chip's tenure. They finally fix the slow start stuff and then blow the rest of the game. Argh!

Disappointing loss but not one to get too hung up on, provided Bradford/Mathews's aren't out longer term. If all you saw were the stats (without the TDs) you'd swear Philly won the game relatively easily. Fluke things happen and I have little doubt if they played 5 times, the Eagles would win 4 of them.

It's a missed opportunity, but not the end of the world. The Eagles had little hope of a bye anyway, but are still in a great position to take the division, and have enough talent that if they can iron out a few of the little things they could still be rolling come December/January.

Whine and complain all you want to folks, but it's too soon to declare this year a bust.

At least Foles isn't lighting the league up with Quick, Cook, and Welker right off the streets. I'm comforted in losing
Couldn't even complete 50% of his passes against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Oh, and he was benched. Worst starting QB in the league right now. By a mile.

Commendable Ren, but this is bad.

In the grand scheme, what's the point? They're not good enough to do anything worthwhile, let's be honest.

Probably not, but we've seen more than one 4-4 or 5-5 team make serious noise in the playoffs, and a couple even win it all. The Eagles still have a lot of talented players and stranger things have happened

not sure why it's even worth a response to this guy at this point. He's finally shown his hand to the rest of the members in the thread. I agree about Foles though... sucks to see him failing so bad but its really rough there. Thrown for over 200 yards in ONE game since October, 2014.

"Nick Foles completed just 17-of-36 passes for 200 yards and an interception in the Rams' 37-13, Week 10 loss to the Bears.Analysis: Find us a worse starting quarterback in the league, we dare you. Foles was embarrassingly awful Sunday and has been for much of the season. Except on Sunday, the Rams' defense and Todd Gurley weren't enough to cover up the black hole that is Foles. He missed several throws that should be easy for an NFL starter. And there were too many to count. The 200 yards passing was Foles' most since Week 1, and he had garbage time to do it for much of the second half. The Rams are 7-for-50 on third down the past four games. It's time to start wondering if Foles will be the quarterback for the Rams next season"

Even if Sam doesn't turn out I get happier and happier we at least took the risk. He'll still find a way to stick up for him though, its pretty sad.

We really needed this one though. Giants look decent and are holding their own vs New England. Right now they have to be the favourites for the div.

And he was benched for the punter

Time for you to stop defending Foles man. You've lost. You'll get through it eventually.

7 for 50 on third downs. Wow.

Didn't know Keenum was the punter. News to me. Guess it's you that didn't watch the game and are only looking at the box score :wall:

I have to remember you have no sense of humor. The game mattered at that point? Buy hey, as long as I can say he sucks it doesn't matter what the Eagles do this season.

Well they can trail the Giants by a game going into week 17. More than likely they'll lose other tie breakers so won't matter as long as they stay within a game.

Ya. But that would have really stung. Especially since we have a fairly tough schedule coming up after the next 2 weeks. Going to REALLY need to go 2-0 here. Hope Sam is back or Sanchez can step it up. If we lose to Tampa I'm ready to dial it in.

Blocked punt is a fluke. Ending a drive with a snap over the QBs head is a fluke. Missed FG is not exactly a fluke, but you get the point. You don't out-gain a team by 150 yards and lose very often in the NFL, even with a turnover. The better team doesn't always win in the NFL. Heck,,the Giants ALMOST beat New England today...and they aren't remotely in the same class. Jacksonville won a road game today. Stuff happens.

Maybe the team was hung over from last weeks win, I don't know. But it's too soon to go all doom and gloom.

Yes the season is not over, but do we really have any faith in any game they go into regardless of who's at QB?

Sanchez sucked but we had 16 points in the first quarter and 3 the rest of the way against a pretty bad defense. Do we have any hope that we can beat any team any given week or do we just cross our fingers going into any game and pray we make less mistakes then the other guys?

The latter.

If you'd have told me at the beginning of the season that the Redskins would have been tied with the Eagles after 9 games I would have said you were crazy. Football seasons are crazy. Welcome to 4-5, and being half a game out of the division lead.

The Eagles still should end up ahead of the Skins in the division, but I guess that could change if Bradford's out a long time.

With the way we make mistakes eah week, I don't have confidence even if Bradford is the starter.

yes. /renesauz

We need a #1 receiving option in the worst way. We have NO ONE on offense that scares defenses.

I didn't realize just how much Hicks meant to the team until today. I know I said previously he would be considered one of the best MLB's as soon as next year but it would have been this year.

What are the odds Landry catches that BS TD? Whatever.

F you Sturgis

Murray was a really bad signing. He looks like a 34 year old RB. His vision is what makes him get yards at this point.

MILES AUSTIN-- You SUCK

I'd like to see the safeties blitz more too

Been pretty damn impressed with Maxwell and Carrol lately. All the db's actually.

Another pass rusher would be nice.

Kelce looks REALLY bad. Not just the bad snaps either. He needs to put on 20.

Do you tie big money into Cox? I feel like you have to buy he's a 3-4 DL. I'm not sure.

We need a TE too. Ertz has peaked.

Are we ever gonna be bad enough to draft a decent qb?

Just some random ####.

I'm too blah to even complain right now. Maybe later in the week the anger will come back but we're a less than good football team. Good enough to give you hope, bad enough to never fulfill it.

St. Louis journalist Bernie Miklasz checked STATS, and going into this game, reportedly the Rams have the worst third down conversion rate percentage as far back as he could check (early '70s, so 40+ years).

Miles Austin and Riley Cooper were on the field a combined 97 snaps. This resulted in zero catches and effectively eliminated two touchdowns as Cooper negated Ertz's touchdown and Miles didn't realize that you need to get 2 feet in at the pro level

The Eagles should be better with Sanchez than with Bradford. Still like the Eagles in this division.

You know what the longest word in the English language is? "If."

Every week it's "if" with this team. Good teams just don't fond ways to lose like they do. I admire some of the optimism in here but just the WR core alone is a fatal enough flaw.

And for Christ's sake already can we stop talking about the ####### rams already? Both teams stink. Who cares anymore?

We have 2 guys (Cooper and Austin) that I feel as if we cut today they wouldn't be on another team.....and these guys saw 97 combined snaps yesterday

Still don't care. That's what the team has done to me. They pushed me past anger to depression. So who can we beat rest of the way. I have no faith in any of these games. He'll we may lose to Tampa and Detroit. That'd be fun. Maybe we can get another couple TDs called back for some new and interesting penalty. I'm tired of just having them called back for holding. Illegal procedure was a nice change. Maybe illegal formation or roughing the defender, that'd be neat. Also can we sign James thrash and Todd Pinkston? I know theyre 40 years old now but I feel like I need a nostalgic reason to yell at the TV. Miles Austin doesn't do enough for me. Cooper is so last year to get angry about. Plus they may catch a few passes. But even with everything going so well for us, at least we have the future of Bradford to look forward to. Ye of the 1.5 quarters a game of good play followed by the most mediocre to awful display of quarterbacking that's never his fault we've ever seen. And if he gets hurt, we have the best backup in the league!

Great time to be an Eagles fan!

Every week, every season, they come up with a new way to tear your heart out.

Doesn't matter who's coaching, who the QB is, the Eagles will always let you down in the same way.

It'd be one thing to just stink. You don't expect much when you stink. But the worst thing about being an Eagles fan is hope. They always give you something to be excited about right before they rip the rug out from under you.

This is not a good team. Yet how many games have the been blown out in? None.

We had a decent chance to win every single one of them. And that's being an Eagles fan in a nutshell.
