**Official** 2015 Washington Redskins Thread YOU LIKE THAT! (3 Viewers)

I'm not getting my hopes up. I think the Giants take care of us Sunday and don't look back. There'll end up being alright and a hard out in the playoffs. I just hope they don't make another run.

This is problem the most confident I've been all year that we could possibly make the playoffs. Dallas is done now with Romo back on the shelf. The Eagles look totally lost and Kelly is definitely gone after this season. It's a 2 team race with us and the Giants now. If we win on Sunday, we have a good shot going forward since the Dallas games just got a lot more manageable going forward. Never would have thought we'd have a real shot to win the division, but its there for the taking now.
Really hope Kelly isn't gone at the end of the year.
Just like how the rest of the division feels about Gruden I guess?Lines up nicely for you guys although whoever wins the division is getting smoked 1st round. What a division.
Possibly, I'm just happy our mediocre coach isn't also the clueless GM.

Whoever wins the division gets a home playoff game. Doesn't guarantee a win, of course, but could reduce the probability of getting smoked.
Those crappy division winners who end up as home dogs in the first round always end up winning that game.
It's happened twice in recent years and it had more to do with the opponent. The Seahawks beat a Saints team that was way less effective on the road than at home. The Panthers beat a team starting a third string QB. Doesn't really indicate anything about what this year's NFC East winner will do.

I think Sunday we'll see the Giants are the cream of the crop in the NFC East, and we'll be left trying to be the best of the 3 crappy teams in the division. That's just who I think the Skins are this year. I don't think they have the personnel or the coaching to equal the Giants. Anyone think they'll hold the Giants under 140 yards rushing? I don't. Anyone think they'll get 100 yards rushing on the Giants? I don't.

That being said, somewhere between 12:45 and 1:00 pm Sunday my mind will blur, things will start to get hazy and rosy and I'll end up thinking "you know, we can beat these guys".

With the Eagles destroying themselves and the Cowboys destroyed by Romo's injuries, if Gruden just manages to keep the team from giving up he can point to a second place division finish as a reason to keep his job, if the front office is unhappy with him.

Dallas gets a pass.

Giants could and is likely to still end with a winning record.

Skins are almost credible and average, season outcome unknown.

The division really looks bad because the eagles ended up being the suck.

NFC east can blame the eagles for any perception of or for actually being bad when the season ends.

Its their fault.
I disagree that Dallas gets a pass. No team expected to win like they were should lose 6 or 7 straight. Even with Romo back he threw 2 TDS to the wrong team.

Agree about the Eagles, I thought some pullback was realistic but thought at least 8-8 potential.

Gruden is mediocre? What's his career record again?

Spurrier was 12-20, what would that make him?

Fair enough. To your point, thinking about it, seems the Steelers and colts have done pretty well record wise while having stud QBs out for decent amounts of time.

I changed my mind, Dallas is the suck, too.

By season's end, everyone in the east other than the giants will have stinky W/L records I think.

I think I'm going to go instead of selling the tickets. We're playing for first place and the best offer I've gotten on Craigslist is $40 per ticket for 2 lower level seats. I officially hate selling tickets on Craigslist, everyone low balls like crazy.

Chris Culliver tore his ACL and MCL in Thanksgiving practice

Why the #### are they practicing on Thanksgiving? :wall:
How high would you rank Eli now? I thought the Skins D was improved but this has to hurt.
I'd rank him a good bit higher than before Culliver got hurt. Randle gives the Skins problems anyway, and their pass rush is lousy. Eeyore should have a good day against them.

It's rainy here and has been since yesterday so players should be slipping and falling a lot. You can never tell who that will help, though. The Giants secondary is pretty bad, and if somehow the Skins can keep the pass rush off Cousins he should have a pretty good day too. If the rush is getting to him expect turnovers.

The Giants should win this game fairly handily, but the Skins are at home, it's rainy, and you never know. This is the game that determines whether they'll have any more meaningful games this season. I'm hoping to see Sad Eeyore at the end of the game.

Love this:

Redskins end Ricky Jean Francois had a message for his teammates after the game. We dont need to look in the rear view mirror to see what we did before. Were in the drivers seat now. The only person that can mess that up is ourselves."

Things you didn't think you'd be reading:

"There’s a lot of football to play between now and then, but the Redskins know they are going to the playoffs if they win their remaining games."

What the Redskins did today is the equivalent of an earthworm crawling upward and getting its head out of the ground. And it feels like such an awesome victory.

I am thoroughly enjoying today.

There were a ton of contributors today so here's one: without Alfred Morris's 23 carries (and at least one reception) they don't win this game today.

Or possibly as long as they win the same number as the Giants. 9-7 is basically a lock for winning the division. That will require 4-1 vs Dallas, @ Chicago, Buffalo, @ Philly, and @ Dallas. 8-8 could work, too. Unfortunately, three road games in there.

we need more of this from here on out.

With the Falcons loss, only one game back of the wild card spot. Nice to have two possible paths to the playoffs, although the division is obviously the easier and more-desired option.

Awesome game. It's still going to take a LOT for us to make the playoffs but no matter what, you have to give this team credit for continuing to fight hard.

I agree with the comments above regarding Alfred Morris...he gained the tough yards when we needed them. When Jones was in the game, everyone in the bar was just waiting for the ill timed fumble...glad they stuck with Morris in the rain.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I believe our secondary has actually become fairly decent. It was disturbing to give up those late bombs to Eli but overall they played a heck of a game.

Odell Beckham Jr. is just completely sick. That catch:

I was totally worried with 19 seconds to go that the Giants were going to find a way to win. Then, after they didn't, i told everyone that I knew we would win. lol.

Cousins = 5 games with zero interceptions, 5 victories this season. He has only had 2 interceptions in the last 5 games. If this trend continues, my inclination is that they should re-sign him. No, he's not a world-beater, but without the interceptions he's definitely a guy we should go into next season with, considering what the alternatives are likely to be.

When DJax is healthy, he is a difference maker. The problem is he's not healthy all the time. But, watching him the last two games it's clear that we need that kind of deep threat from SOMEBODY on our team, because it makes a difference.

Ryan Kerrigan showed his beast self today...it was good to see it.

That one dude in the secondary is a converted Wide Receiver...and he got the big pick in the endzone I believe. Pretty cool story.

We tackled much better today than we did last week.

Eli Manning is strange. One moment he'll look totally inept, then he gets his back to the wall and he's slicing you up. Watching that game, I never relaxed. I knew "Eli Time" was coming.

I hate to see anyone injured but with Romo out again, the next game is winnable once again. Monday night in Dallas will not be easy no matter who the QB is, but at least now I feel that we have a fighting chance. The Giants play the Jets next week; that is a tough matchup...and the Eagles play the Patriots. We have to keep our foot on the gas and try to steal this game in Dallas...

I'm still considering us long shots but you just never know what might happen...

Redskins-Cowboys Monday night last year. Away team starts their 3rd QB of the season. Wins.

No easy games in this rivalry.

Who the hell would have thought this team would be in 1st place going into December? I thought we'd be lucky to win 4 games all season and at best we would win 7. Here we are at 5-6. It's not pretty, but it's good enough right now.

The division is there for the taking, if we can win a couple road games. The Giants still have to play the Panthers and Vikings, which certainly won't be easy games. We don't play a team with a winning record the rest of the way.

Great performance by the defense yesterday!

The Giants also have to play the Jets. They actually have a really tough schedule.

The Eagles have to play the Patriots next week, but they are apparently catching the Patriots at a good time, with no WRs and no Gronk. It will be interesting to see if Brady can pull that game out...hopefully he can.

FYI, I sold those tickets for $75 a piece (face was $125).

Now I have to sell Dallas, which fortunately should go for well above face, given we're in 1st and its Dallas.

If you want to know why I'm selling, long story short, wife had to quit her job and hasn't found a new one yet. We're fine with her not working for at least a year, but since she was the one who paid for the tickets (via her side of the family), she wants her money back so she can Christmas shop. No joke. :(

I shouldn't complain though, I got to 4 games this year and it didn't cost me a dime.

Damn sorry man. Hope she finds something soon.

May have some interest in the Bills game if you're going to sell those.

Maybe they could try hypnosis with Cousins. "No Kurt, this is not Chicago/Philadelphia/Dallas. This is FedEx Field. Go light it up." Probably be looking at 10-6 if that worked.

Well, somebody has to win the division. Giants sure as hell don't want to, so why not?

Dude, sorry to hear about the financial situation. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Though, if it looks like the Redskins are going to make the playoffs, you may have to tell the wife to cancel Christmas. jk, man. Hang in there.

Doc Walker this morning: "I want to see Pot Roast bullrush the center right into the quarterback and get disqualified for unnecessary roughness."
