Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (1 Viewer)

Keep your chin up, Republicans, I know you'll find a good candidate eventually.
Well, we don't have to set the bar very high because the Democrats have set theirs so low with Clinton, we could probably put up a Monkey with a banana and still take the election. The monkey would win based on trust alone.

Yet your leading candidate is even less trust worthy than Hillary.
"My" leading candidate is Rubio.

Yeah...ok,.

He isnt leading...and you are a GOP guy, so like it PR not, Trump is leading the party you support.

Hillary and Trump are both at +50% Unfavorable, both are double digits underwater. This country is in some sort of self-hating mode where both candidates are unlikeable and show contempt for their own voters. If countries could see shrinks the US would need therapy three times a week right now.

And the party you support. Still, Rubio is going to win the nomination anyways. That's "my" candidate, not trump.

I dont support either party.

Just funny how quick you jump in to bring up Hillary, yet forget Trump.

Rubio will melt away at some point. While I want to like this guy, he just does not have IT. He's Dan Quayle with an uninteresting ethnic streak, much like ... Dan Quayle.

Nobody is less trust worthy than Hillary.

I am a bit disappointed he hasn't got more traction, but if Trump is the nominee I'm not voting. It has to be Rubio in the end. I don't see any other candidate worthy.

You keep thinking that. Meanwhile Trump keeps making crap up...

Nope.

But I won't ever vote for Trump or Hillary.

Likely Gary Johnson once again.

Still think it's a shame Romney chooses not to run. As the only mature adult in the race, he'd win the GOP nomination in a walk. And as a relatively poor person, I'd still send money to this fat cat if he ran against Hillary.

ETA: my preferences in order, but not rigid by any stretch. I favor foreign policy chops over domestic policy, but not by much.

Webb

Warren

Biden

Sanders

Huntsman

Romney

It sucks to care.

Yeah, I did like Romney too. He just looks Presidential.

Very frustrating that Rubio seems to be stuck and just can't get out of neutral. I will be voting for him too but I'm just not seeing any way for him to win.

Oh Trump is out of his fn mind no doubt, but Hillary is vile.

Using the world "vile" to describe Hillary is probably being generous, too.

Rubio gets endorsements of two major state papers in Des Moines & Sioux City.
Trump and Cruz are very abrasive, Rubio fits a more traditional look and feel for a lot of folks. My argument for a while has been OK, take Trump out and who you got? It's tough and that's why Trump did what he did.

I felt Rubio could have been that guy but he has gotten very little momentum. I don't expect many publications to support Donald Trump.

Edwards got a 19+% bump from his DMR endorsement in 2004. This could help Rubio quite a bit.

Yeah it's nice to think of where the fields would be right now without Hillary & Trump in it.

It's not 2004 and Dems are different from Republicans. I'm doubtful that Rubio sees any bump.
Lol at a paper endorsement meaning anything in 2016.
I know this is shocking but there are a lot of people even today who have no clue whom to vote for until they get a rec from their favorite news site/paper. I wouldn't overrate it and I wouldn't underrate it either.

Christie get any bump in NH for the way he handled the storm?

I thought he came across as very put together, but not sure how much media coverage he got outside of the tri-state area.

Bump?

My impression was he originally told NJ to pound sand, then was ridiculed, then caved and changed his mind.

Jeb is praising Gov. Snyder for his handling of the Flint water crisis. Seriously.

"I admire Rick Snyder for stepping up right now," Bush said on CNN's "State of the Union." "He's going to the challenge. He's fired people and accepted responsibility to fix this."

"Heckuva job Snyderie"
Snyder was latest respond, but he has fired people and released his emails which still puts him a leg up on Hillary...

"Whether it's an impending storm or whether it's the scourge of radical Islamic jihadist terrorism, you have to make people be safe and secure," Christie said. "I’m proud that we didn't lose one life in New Jersey yesterday because the people of New Jersey, as crazy as it seems, they listen to me."

Because dealing with ISIS is exactly like dealing with a nor'easter. Note he's already back in NH. Thanks for stopping by, Chris.

Since most of NH didn't get any snow people ignored the storm. I guess it was a "once every 50 years" NJ storm but just a typical "big" storm here. I can't see much of a bump from claiming "we got the roads plowed".

But but but it snowed really hard...
