That's true but let's face it he's was handing them the shovel and the dirt.

Trump was unpresidential, didn't know the issues, offered nothing new and nothing specific, and largely avoided questions.

So he was himself. I turned it on just as the place was howling with laughter, something about Rosie O'Donnell and then Megan Kelly asked him about the WAR ON WOMEN (I miss Fox speak, should watch it more often). What was said there?

Her question recited a bunch of Trump quotes calling women fat pigs, etc.

Agreed. Everyone I know well is empoyed and doing well. Housing market has roared back. Trump and a few others talk like it is 2008 all over again.

Take a look at government debt to GDP. Not good.

I do all the time. For the most part every president EVER has reduced this number except for times of war and the great depression. That was true since WWII until we hit the "tax cuts pay for themselves" guys, or the "voodoo economics" guys.. And dealing with the "great recession" But don't worry, if you change your perspective a bit, narrow your focus you can find a way to shift the blame and take the credit of others. Of course the problem of paying for tax cuts for three plus decades with surpluses generated by payroll taxes starts to become problematic when those surpluses go away, So the answer last night? More tax and regulatory cuts to grow the economy!

The guy is leading the GOP race, that is a hell of a thing. I wouldn't be surprised if his number goes up after this debate, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes down. - But that first question from Megyn exposes an important issue about him - he is so thin skinned. He could have taken Megyn's question like other questions that were posed to the other candidates, that this is a criticism of him and how is he going to handle it, especially facing Hillary Clinton who you know war on womyns and all that. Like I said above he could have taken it a couple different ways, he could have also taken it and said yeah that was when he was a businessman and a reality star but as president he would behave differently in terms of how he acted towards women. But no not only did he make a joke about it he took it personally and then brought Megyn personally into it. - Then it went on, asked about his professional failures and business mistakes, these are things that would be asked when running against Hillary, he took it personally and started talking about Atlantic City. Asked by Wallace to provide backup to his claim that he had proof about his claim about the Mexican government sending criminals over purposefully he says some border guards told him so a few weeks after he made the claim. The Fox mods were almost doing him a favor asking him this stuff, they were saying look this is the stuff you're going to get, and instead of thinking big picture he got very defensive and reactive and acted like he had been unfairly accused when that's not the point at all.

I agree with you about the 4th and general warrants. It's, to a degree, a reason for fighting the Revolution. Paul was right. I thought Paul won the exchange, too, but I'm in the bag for Paul.

That said, CC's gaffe was forgivable considering all the people from NJ that probably worked in NY. The coordination it must take between those two states is probably part of his everyday job, and he can be forgiven for a slip like that, unless it becomes a chronic thing.

Yeah I get that. But sitting there listening as a NJ resident and hear the NJ Gov say the attacks happened in his state jumped out at me. I had the same reactions when I heard NY was hosting the Super Bowl.

Rubio may be the GOP version of Obama as a rising young star, but he doesn't seem ready for prime time to me. And he totally blew it with the abortion question.

Kasich came across as a reasonable lovable guy. I doubt hardcore red meat conservatives are looking for that though unfortunately.

Bush was pretty unimpressive last night. He was asked about how he was going to achieve his promised 4% growth rate and all he said was that it's important to be optimistic. While that's true, it's also important to be realistic and to have specific solutions.

And this represents my problem with the current state of the Republican Party- whether it's the economy, or the deal with Iran, I think they're living in the past, refusing to acknowledge the limitations of the United States in the 21st century.

I think it could be said it was a good debate last night and at the very least entertaining. I think love em or hate em people will be tuning in to the GOP debates moving forward after what will be a lot of water cooler talk on a Friday. The Democratic debates will be show-debates, purely mockups to promote Hillary.

One thing this field has highlighted is that in 2 debates there are some really strong, capable personalities, at least politically. In the past when a George W Bush emerged or others like Kerry say those were not strong fields. Jeb's personality was weak in the midst of those charismas. Trump, Christie, Paul, Fiorina, Rubio, they all stood out, but Jeb either suffers from high expectations or too much familiarity, not sure, but he has go to do something to stand out more in that crew.

Helping our economy flourish: I think his business acumen/experience, and the fact that he won't owe any favors to politicians and/or interest groups clearly separates him from the pack. He can make decisions based on what's best for the country, not based on who he owes a personal/financial favor to.Illegal immigration: Trump brought this issue to the forefront and it's obviously very important to him. He's the only candidate who would be willing to hurt feelings and potentially offend some people in order to fix the problem. I believe that the rest of the field would be too pc to get anything substantial done, just like the last 30 years.

Terrorism: I believe Trump's responses to terrorist attacks would be stronger and more direct than those of the other candidates, and he would take steps to thwart terrorism, both foreign and donestic, that the other candidates would be afraid to take due to political correctness.

Also, Trump won't be the CEO of America. He can't just bark orders and get things done or fire those that he doesn't like. He still will have to deal with lobbyists, special interests, and all the other elected officials that a President has to find a way to work with to get anything done.

"I don't have time for political correctness" gets them all good and moist. Not being an ####### being a very time-consuming pursuit.

His focus is on getting things done. If feelings get hurt in the process so be it. He doesn't have time to waste worrying about that. I love that attitude from a Presidential candidate. The upside far outweighs the downside. If he can get this country back on track I have no problem sacrificing a few hurt feelings. You may think he's an #######, but does that necessarily mean he couldn't be the best choice to fix some of the major problems our country is facing?

What makes you think Donald Trump is the best choice to fix some of the major problems our country is facing? What are those problems, and what sets Trump apart from others?

Helping our economy flourish: I think his business acumen/experience, and the fact that he won't owe any favors to politicians and/or interest groups cleay separates him from the pack.

Illegal immigration: Trump brought this issue to the forefront and it's obviously very important to him. He's the only candidate who would be willing to hurt feelings and potentially offend some people in order to fix the problem. I believe that the rest of the field would be too pc to get anything substantial done, just like the last 30 years.

Terrorism: I believe Trump's responses to terrorist attacks would be stronger and more direct than those of the other candidates, and he would take steps to thwart terrorism, both foreign and donestic, that the other candidates would be afraid to take due to political correctness.
