Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (1 Viewer)

You know....if the GOP isn't careful, they are going to piss off a lot of Christians with this nonsense about the refuges. Perhaps this is happening at the perfect time. it'd be the last swing of the axe to sever the tie that binds. Now, if only we could get some movement on the dem side to move away from the establishment SSDD politicians. That'd be a wonderful step in the right direction.
I don't think they will piss off too many christians. Turns out that alot of them believe and like to say they are christian, but when it gets right down to it, that's usually not the case.
WTF?
i have met many extremely devout Christians who are some of the most intolerant a holes I have ever met.
so you met a few Christians, so "alot of them" are like this. i guess the same can be true about the islamic terrorists? i have seen a many on TV that kill innocent people, so i'll label it as "alot" of muslims (as you have done above) are radical extremist terrorists who want to kill the infidels.

Ted Cruz to Obama's criticism re Syrian refugees: "Come back and insult me to my face" -- just now to TV cameras
The President is kind of busy but maybe he can send a three year old Syrian orphan to insult Cruz' face.
On the other hand, the hilarity that would ensue if Cruz said that again at a rally, and Obama walked up and tapped him on the shoulder, would be almost as epic as the pile of feces that would immediately emerge from Cruz.
Because I'm sure Cruz is very intimidated by the buffoon Obama.
Really? This is what its come down to, school yard bullying? "Yeah, well say it my face!"We need some adults to choose from.
Well Obama is literally going around the world attacking the Republicans at every turn, what the hell do you expect? I know a couple you get a hard on when Obama does this but most people just find it embarrassing.

I didn't vote for Obama. Gary Johnson 2012. Possibly 2016 as well. But Cruz sounds like an immature bully.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of our politicians could discuss their differences like adults? It all been reduced to fear-mongering. And the GOP has completely wet themselves with joy over the timing of the Paris bombings.

This would be awesome, but i'm not holding my breath. It hasn't changed in the last two decades, I don't see why they'd change now. Politics in this country are flat out embarrassing. There's no question, but they are doubling down and now we have this situation between Obama and Cruz. I get that Obama shouldn't be airing our dirty laundry all over the world and I get Cruz's anger in that, but come on....SOMEONE is going to have to be the adult first.

What if all refugees were forced to eat a piece of bacon to get into the country? That would keep out all the muslims and orthodox Jews.
Not to mention those pesky vegans.
I think we can all agree vegans don't really need to be in this country in the first place. "No meat" is simply unAmerican.
I wouldn't kick them out, but they can't have any pudding.
If we aren't kicking them out then they don't get any cake either.

Even when Harry Reid was screaming "the war is looooost" on the Senate floor in 2006 Bush didn't run around screaming about it in every foreign country. Obama Is the problem here, not Cruz.

Do you think Cruz looks presidential staring into a camera and telling Obama "say it to my face"? But I get it, because to his supporters he's looking like a tough guy. And you know who else looks stupid is Christie, all of his tough talk. "I won't let a 3 year old in". It's chest pounding, tough guy talk. And it comes off as childish.

So damn dumb.

No, this time it isn't Carson...

"Well youre a Christian," Jeb Bush started off saying to reporters. "You can prove youre a Christian. Its-"

"How?" a reporter asked.

Bush gave a shrug: "I think you can prove it - if you cant prove it then, you know, you err on the side of caution."

"Ask them what their favorite bible verse is," Bush replied. "If they can't name one, they're obviously not a Christian."
Missed opportunity here imo

No one's voting for Obama in '16. Maybe some of the people who DO want us to vote for them should act like they're grown ups and not 12 year olds on the playground. This crop of GOP candidates has done NOTHING to sway me to consider them in '16. I'll most likely go 3rd party again.

It's irrelevant to this thread, but he shouldn't be airing our politics overseas. That said, Cruz came off as an immature bully. There are ways to handle things.

And it wasn't besides the point - this thread is about '16 GOP candidates. One of whom is Cruz - and he looks anything but Presidential.

And you're sounding like you should right there on the playground with them. "yeah but he started it!". Can someone please be adult and convince me why I should vote for them?

So when he demonizes opposing viewpoints and clearly and purposefully misrepresents their positions to advance his own you don't find anything wrong with that?

I agree, Cruz didn't handle that well but Obama was JUST as un-Presidential.

Well that depends. I believe that certain viewpoints deserve to be demonized. Specifically in this instance, I believe that the viewpoint that we should shut down accepting Syrian refugees is pretty shameful and it deserves to be demonized. As for purposefully misrepresenting what somebody says, nobody should ever do that. Can you give me an example of what you're talking about? Then I can tell you if I agree with you.

Cruz is a paper tiger, a typical right wing blowhard bully. Tough until someone punches them back, then they run home crying that they are the one being bullied. Obama walks up behind him and taps him on the shoulder, Cruz ####s his pants. Bank on it.
Lol puff that chest if it makes you feel better about your hero being called out for the pant load he is. Go on....
Not my hero. If it makes you feel better to tar everyone who is on the left with the same brush, go ahead.

Kasich and Paul seem to act like grown ups. Shame that doesn't get them air time. I could vote for Kasich but he's too moderate to matter in this GOP.

With the current GOP climate you have to spout some gun/religion/pro-life rhetoric to get noticed. Could never happen if he was elected.

20% in the middle my ###. We don't need to get into why Obama won twice.

And seeing as Romney destroyed him in those debates, I don't think Cruz would have any trouble as well. When he's actually confronted and not on his pulpit, he's really really bad.

Romney did do well in the debates. Shows how little people pay attention to those. It would require paying attention to something beyond a sound bite.
