Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (3 Viewers)

So, Ohio and NJ have seen big increases in employment during the Obama administration. Not that either candidate has much of a chance, but that approach won't go over well against Hillary.
I don't know about NJs job growth in '15, but NJ lagged behind PA, NY and DE in jobs during the recovery. Maybe '15 was our best because the bar was set so low.

Cruz is a smart guy, I have to give him credit. I dont agree with his politics but he's sharp.
I agree. His problem is that he feels the need to tell you every ten seconds just how smart he is.
I've actually read many times that's why he's so unpopular. He's the smartest guy in the room, but also the biggest doosh
I've said this on the board a few times, but if you really want to know why people dislike this guy, look up my friend's Twitter account. @clmazin He lived in a room with Ted for 10 months and has uncommon insight into why he's so intensely disliked.
Ha actually I've seen this, great stuff.
I remember talking to him Christmas of 89 and him telling me that his roommate was a soulless creep incapable of empathy. Also that he smelled horrible and left an oily film on everything he touched, to the point that he had to ban Ted from using his computer. I never dreamed that 26 years later, I'd be watching this guy run for President.

Streaming the debate....Brutal...Cuts out every 15 minutes, annoying....

Side note, during commercial break they have some kids commentating on the debate. They just showed a graph where Rubio tweets surpassed Trump around 830pm... They went on to say this was good for Rubio, he never has had that much attention on twitter.... :loco:

Horrible. The red line is Rubio but the red line is Trump.

Christie lying again, the nurse was not showing symptoms:

Kaci Hickox, 34, has filed a lawsuit in federal court – with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union – against Christie and other state officials, alleging she was unconstitutionally held against her will and was deprived due process.
Hickox had been in Sierra Leone treating Ebola patients with the group “Doctors Without Borders.” When she flew back to the U.S. last October through Newark International Airport, en route to her home state of Maine, she was quarantined under a brand new policy under Christie and Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Under the plan, instituted at the height of the Ebola scare, all arriving air travelers who had contact with Ebola patients in West Africa were to be quarantined for 21 days, the disease’s maximum incubation period

This whole women in selective service issue is a joke. We have been downsizing the military significantly. The idea of a draft right now is a joke.

Rubio on rebuilding our military, just STOP. The US military is gigantic, almost as big as its budget. Just total crap, our military needs to be reduced, alot.

It's gigantic now for big government. Literally billions of dollars and thousands of jobs flow from the defense budget to government jobs.

God Kasich is way too positive for this crowd
He is,
I've been saying it all along, he's a prime VP candidate. Ohio would go red in 2016, which is a must win for them. He's also tough for the Dems to beat. Believes in healthcare, amnesty, and has a positive message
would love to see Carson as the VP.
Why?
I like the guy. Not as President, but as VP. I think he'd be good behind the scenes.

been following this guy for a while. He's hilarious. He's a GB of yours? That's cool.
Yeah, I've known him since '86. We went to HS together, he kind of took me on as a protégé when he found out that I (like him) skipped a grade and was a year behind the rest of my class. We ran the school newspaper together and wrote a few stage comedies together for the drama club. We still talk a few times a year. I remember hearing the horror stories about Ted from Craig - he was literally begging them to move him to another room. He actively despised Cruz and would regale me with tales of how socially awkward and entirely devoid of emotion the guy was. He told me that one of their classmates told them one night that his mother had had an abortion and that without a second's pause, Ted blurted out : "Your mother's a whore." Said that summed the guy up perfectly. I think he recounted that discussion recently on Twitter.

no problem. Thanks for sharing that story. Good stuff.

Christie:
''I support Planned Parenthood privately with my personal contribution and that should be the goal of any such agency, to find private donations, '' Christie is quoted as saying in an article posted on Nj.com that was originally written for the Star-Ledger.

''It's also no secret that I am pro-choice ... But you have to examine all the agencies needing county donations and prioritize them. I would consider all groups looking for funding, but there is a limit and we have to pick and choose, '' said Christie, who was running as a Republican in the Morris County freeholder race.
