Kasich has acted incredibly irresponsibly as governor with its budget. He got the state finances in order by drastically cutting local funding. It's just a shell game where he cuts the state budget but has worsened our communities budgets.
Additionally, he has a legal mandate to correct the method for funding schools - and he has ignored the problem and exacerbated it by cutting school funding - shifting the burden for funding back to local districts and in turn worsening the problem.
Yes he's cut state taxes, but he's worsened inequities locally. Unfortunately the people don't realize the cluster he's inflicted on our communities.

That was my perception before the spin - the spin was not spin, it just confirmed what most people already thought. And considering the difficulties he had locking down the nomination, it was obvious even Republicans were not that gung ho about him.

I understand why some would give Christie an A last night. But in reality he's more of a one trick pony than Rubio is. Christie repeats the same tired #### every damn debate - "Governors actually have to make decisions and be held accountable". He also mentions every single time that he's the only person on the stage who has prosecuted terrorists. Rubio should have thrown that right back in his face. Watch for it at the next debate (if Christie is still alive).

Trump - Got what he needed from the debate, which was a clusterfudge behind him. Hard to think things will coalesce in the rest of the field to cost him.
Cruz - He has a fan base that is fairly fact-resistant, especially when those facts are coming from CNN. He's a guy who defines himself by who he is fighting. Low-to-mid double digits in NH will be fine for him. The big battle for him is trying to conquer trump in SC. Don't see him going anywhere for a while.
Rubio - His 3-2-1 strategy is in big trouble as he opened the door back up to other Cruz/Trump alternatives. Every other candidate is going to regard him as child and the lack of effective counter by him is probably gonna make it stick. Can he really clear the deck now? Even in a brokered scenario it is hard to think they'll turn to him. Still room to run and maybe NH voters see it differently but badly wounded.
Carson - that his campaign has turned into a run just to hurt Cruz is hilarious. If he is really in it for spite he's got enough dollars to stick around a while. Even if he's doddering around getting 5 and 6% that could be a vital slice.
Christie - First guy not named Trump to really hurt another candidate. But I get the sense he's just spoiling. Not a Presidential temperment. It's one trick to cost an opponent support - it's quite another to add those votes to your total. I remember Iowa on the Dem side in '04. Dean and Gephardt basically killed each other - and ended ui giving it to Kerry.
Kasich - He does seem like the kind of guy that New Hampshire can go for. Perhaps he can pull a McCain and be able to build out after a strong NH performance but McCain already had a network from his prior run. I disagree with him as a strong veep choice - too dishwater - the last #2 to truly deliver a state was LBJ.
And it all comes back to Bush. A terrible candid. Prone to look pathetic. But maybe just maybe if he can hold off the walls collapsomg on his campaign he may just get there. Moreso as the sort of establishment parking lot with no other alternatives. Like a safety school. Or the unimpressive reliable husband that women settle for. He does have money and the name and network. He should be able to outspend Kasich and his NH numbers are way better than his national numbers. In a field where Rubio and Christie disqualify each other and Cruz Trump and Carson are all unacceptable and Kasich is out of step the R's go with the uninspiring but thoroughly known choice. Stranger things have happened.

PS - Christie's performance is really the kind of attack dog style that is desirable in a veep. 4 years ago this possibility surely didn't appeal to him but after this laggard run it could be the only conceivable way he could get to eventually be in the job that he wants (which is all about his personal vanity)

What a ####### idiot. That was Palin-esque.
Honestly, Rubio has been the GOP candidate that has scared me the most since the beginning of the campaign because I thought he was the most "likable" of all of the GOP candidates -- which I think is unfortunately often the major driving factor for many undecided voters. But I don't see how Rubio could possibly come out of a debate against Hillary Clinton looking like he is better prepared to run the country.
Rubotio has to be his new nickname going forward.

Trump: 30-36% of the vote depending on the poll but unanimously he is running away in NH.
Rubio: 14-17% and in some polls he is running third. The next several are interchangeable.
Kasich: 9-17%, he has 3 polls with 9, 11, and 11 so his floor is below Rubio slightly at the moment.
Cruz: 9-16%, 9, 12, 13, 14...he is all over the place, maybe should have him bumped ahead of Kasich.
Bush: 7-13%, his numbers are low but if he withdrew I think most would go to Kasich. They are both successful state governors.
Christie: 4-6%, again where does his 5% go when he drop out?he and Bush are really not much more than 10-15% total. I think most would flow to Kasich, that would put Kasich as the establishment front runner. People will get keyed into Rubio looking like an idiot and eventually a couple of these guys need to go.
Bush is in until South Carolina, Christie could exit on Tue Night or Wed Morn. Cruz has little support outside of that early win, he might get a couple on Super Tuesday but it's not likely.

Id love to see it too, but the problem is the result of that will be nobody gets out. Jeb will continue to campaign all through the South and Super Tuesday, and so will Rubio, and so will Christie if he has a decent result. Which means no unifying the establishment wing, which means Trump wins most of these states with 20-25% of the vote.

Disagree. Kasich getting that much of the vote should preclude Christie from getting it. IMHO. Rubio is staying in already and so is JEB because of his money. No matter what happens in New Hampshire, Rubio, Cruz, and JEB are staying in. There is a small chance that Trump would bow out if he lost New Hampshire but I doubt it. The remaining majority of the votes look like they are breaking to Kasich for the most part. Carson will be done, Fiorina is done, Chrisie unless he gets over 10% should bow out as well.

Christie has put all his eggs into NH - ala Rudy in FL few yrs ago....if he finishes anything but top 3 it's time for him to go.....he may get some consideration as VP but not sure his strong personality fits that job spec.....I agree he's take it at this point though.

Maybe but Christie doesn't bring anything to a ticket as a VP except attack dog. He so thoroughly made fun of the idea of being Romney's VP that it is going to come back to bite him, he won't carry New Jersey either. I don't know if he would be a good VP choice.
Cruz can't pick him because that team would never work. Trump couldn't either. If Kasich gets the nom he needs someone from the south (Rubio is perfect at this point, although I still like Suzanna Martinez for the VP slot more than anyone. If Rubio gets the nom he would be foolish not to pick Kasich as that would be a formidable team and look a lot similar to Obama Biden with the VP bringing a ton of experience to the ticket and is also someone that knows how to work with Congress. Christie doesn't do that for Rubio, and I'm not sure Rubio could control Christie - which is another problem with him as a VP for anyone.
