Official 2016 GOP thread: Is it really going to be Donald Trump?? (3 Viewers)

By the way Trump still hasn't delivered his millions gotten in the veterans tv fundraiser to any vets groups.

I posted the link but of course that's impossible to find now post "upgrade."
That's what I was saying way back when he pulled that stunt. The trumpforveterans site directed funds to his trust and he'd previously given little to veterans. No reason to think that would change. Then many veterans groups were telling him and others to stop using them as pawns.

After the last two weeks of observing these idiots up close, I now have to question anyone who willfully identifies themselves as "Republican" or a supporter of the party.  It's gotten that bad.  They are mired in political :hophead:  like I've never seen and they all seem to have the combined IQ of a gnat.

I was watching a segment on CNN (I think) talking about the money they are dumping into SC ads against Trump and how they don't seem to be having an effect.  There's a reason for that IMO.  Quite simply, those attacking Trump aren't any more mature than Trump himself.  I often wonder if they aren't farming these ads out to 3rd graders with a desire to be in film making one day.

I feel Jeb! still has a pretty reasonable shot with Rubio having regular glitches and nobody else really gaining traction outside of Trump/Cruz. But his campaign is just run so poorly. It's just a bizarre and inexplicably terribly run. Even if he's doing an awful job delivering the material you'd think at least think the material itself would be pretty solid. He's got enough money and name recognition to think he would have hired the best talent.

I'm not a "supporter" of either party but to lump the (D)'s in with the clown show that is the current GOP is way off base.
Bernie is promising the Sun, the Moon and the entire universe to everyone but the rich and people are buying it.. Hilary is an outright liar, cheat, law breaking bleep.. so.. yea, IMO,both parties right now are a joke..

Some of his ideas would never see the light of day but his Wall St reforms have the backing of many people way smarter than me. https://berniesanders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Wall-St-Letter-1.pdf

I want a legitimate 3rd party to jump in.. something like nolabels.org becoming an actual independent party to vote for..

How about a Jon Huntsman with Amy Klobuchar as VP ticket.. Pull in voters from both sides.. might just have yourself a real  race ;)

I'd vote for Huntsman...and his smoking hot daughter.

This would be the election to try, but they need to start trying to get on the ballot soon.  They're running out of time.

His primary focus is campaign finance reform.  A core issue in our system today.  He wants to expand free public education and wants to provide healthcare for the country.  While we may not see eye to eye on policy approaches, I think it's completely disingenuous to suggest Bernie is in the same boat with all these other politicians.  From moral, ethical and integrity points of view it's not close.

This weekend returned me back 20 years ago when  five or six times per year  Vince McMahon would put on Saturday Night Main Event. So with that in mind we out our favorite candidates into the WWFTed Cruz- Bret Hart

Excellence in Execution has no better comparison in the senate than what Ted Cruz is doing today and we’ll see him pull every string to make sure that Obama can’t get anything done..  He was immensely popular amongst a certain fringe who believe that he is the best there is, the best there was and there best there ever will be when it comes to fighting for the constitution..

Oh yeah, that and he is a Canadian..

Trump- Ted DiBiase
Is convinced he can buy the WWF belt and even if he can't, he will buy his own better one. He is more interested in doing it his way than ever thinking he needs to work it through lime everybody else does because he is just that brash and that rich...which makes

Ben Carson –Virgil

Carson is worth so much more and early on he could have been Rick Steamboat or something but lately he is just sucking up to Donald that this is really all that is left of him

Ronald Reagan- The Hulkster

Every kid in the 80’s knew that there were two people looking out for them, who spoke about and for American virtue..Ronald Reagan and Hulk Hogan.. Both spoke about prayers yet neither ever made it into a church, both draped themselves in the flag to get their audience to believe and both were actors who proved to be phonies who played to their audience.

Rick Perry- Hacksaw Jim Dugan

Kind of like the Hulkster expect dumb as a 2x4, draped in the American Flag although you’re not sure he isn’t wiping his ### with it when he’s not in public view..
Chris Christie -George the Animal Steele
People will tell you that George Steele was a Harvard professor but all you knew about him was he was a walking talking Cookie Monster

Mike Huckabee – The Honky Tonk Man
The Honky Tonk Man never had realistic aspirations past the intercontinental title, like Mikey Huck never had any real hope for president but embraced the roll like nobody else ever could..

George W. Bush- Macho Man

The Son of a Wrestler who everybody hoped for greatness.   Nobody expected Macho Man to win the title in Wrestemania IV but the most unlikely combination happened and he won what was supposed to be the next great champion.  Problem is that he listed to too many people who never had himself, or the WWE’s interest at heart and everybody suffered because of it.  When he spoke, you kind of cringed and you never felt his relationship with Miss Elizabeth-Condi, was all that clean.. That plus there are a million not so quite whispers that the Macho Man was high-as-a-kite for his entire reign. Which makes

Jeb! – Leaping Lanny Poffo

The much less energetic, much less fun brother of Macho Man.. later became known as the Genius! which is about as laughable as calling Jeb! one.

George H Bush- Angelo Poffo

A noted wrestler in the the 60’s and 70’s who spawned a couple of wrestlers and carried his carpet-bagger title proudly..

Obama- The Iron Sheik..

no comment needed

Bernie Sanders- Nikolai Volkoff

No comment necessary

Rand- Kurt Angle

There has never been a better technical wrestler than Kurt Angle, even if he did it with almost no flare or excitement..  The guy was boring as a personality because he took himself way too seriously and refused to come down to anything entertaining.. Smug as all hell but nobody would ever accuse him of selling out.

Rubio- Ricky Steamboat

One of the more talented guy on the roster but always doomed to be the second fiddle because he just had no real personality.. Maybe America just wasn’t quite ready for him or maybe the idiots that pay $45 to sit in the nosebleeds don’t know any better anyway..

Peyton Manning- Jake the Snake

Loves throwing his snake on some unsuspecting person’s face

Hillary Clinton- Linda McMahon

Wife of the guy in charge but we all know who wears the pants, because the guy on top really can’t keep his pants on..

Lindsay Graham- Greg the Hammer Valentine.

Like The Hammer, there are tons of rumors out there implying that Greg likes to get his hammer polished in the sauna at the New York’s Sports Club

Howard Finkel- Bill O’Reily

Jim Powers and Paul Roma..   Pataki and Jindal.. just a couple of goobers needed to keep the undercard going
We need a Carli and a Scott Walker

Somewhat typical of the comments: I can not wait to vote Nikki Haley out of office.  She is as big of a disgrace of a Governor as Obama is as President.

What baffles me is that this is the sort of thing that fuels his followers.  Between her comments and Obama's he's all set.

So we get back to the question of IF Trump wins the nom does one of the other bozo's break their pledge and run 3rd party?

I doubt it.  Time is running out to get on the ballots as an independent.  And I know there are some "sore loser" laws that could pose a problem, although I've heard different views about their impact.

Here's a link with info when Trump was "threatening" including a link to the sore loser law. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/10/politics/donald-trump-2016-independent-presidential-campaign/

Not that it would happen, but couldn't one of the "losers" jump on one of the other "major" 3rd party tickets? Libertarians don't run their primaries until May.

he's not, but it's all they have left.  and i'm not voting for Bernie.  the incessant attempt to equate anything else with this GOP circus is absurd.

This link shows the "earliest" deadline to be around June

Granted there is a LOT of ground work that would be needed in the next 4 months,in each state since there isn't a "National" ballot procedure, to get on the ballots, but 4 months is 4 months..

"We are one vote away from the 2nd Amendment being erased from the constitution."

-Ted Cruz on filling the Supreme Court scene

No one fear mongers better than Ted.
What a weird presser... guy is not conveying a sense of being presidential in the least.

Ted, you're a liar, live with it it... Iowa, the gig is up.  Whining doesn't look good.

Geez and now he just stormed off.

He's the only guy that could make me vote Hillary, heaven help us.

Can't remember who but someone had such a perfect post in the debate thread about Cruz sitting his little girls down to tell them they've lost their liberties. So funny.

Has this ever happened?

Comparable situations are few since a brokered convention hasn't happened in the primary-era.

I do know there are cases where candidates have probably been within 5% of the number of delegates after some rounds of ballots and failed to get there.

Trump's not saying anything that I haven't heard him say before at least a dozen times. In this sense he's really no different from every other politician: stick to the stump speech as much as possible. He just makes it seem a little less wooden than Rubio does.

Uhm he's different than any other politician. He's very different, unless you include LaRouche and a few others of that ilk.

Let's try this again:

I love [foreign country's citizens], why I rent some of my best properties to [millionaire from foreign country], I think [foreign dictator] and I will get along fabulously, we will respect each other.

Good format for Carson.  The 30 second soundbite-TV style-debate is certainly not his format.
Much better.  He comes across as an intelligent, thoughtful man, which I believe he is.  His demeanor and style doesn't show well in the debate format.  He's not good at the one liners.

I wasn't a big Rubio fan before tonight but he really impressed me with all his answers and has great electability in a national election.
