Such a shame. Not a starter and never will be but he was nice on STs and good enough in the open field to be a viable/decent #4Damn dude. Huff is toast.

By turning it on I would mean playing like the top 10 talent he could be, being the wr1 and dominating the RZ and being a deep play threat. Now the odds of that happening are debateable but that's the only wr they have that looks to have much upside. The rest are what they are.If DGB turns it on (still a big 'if' IMO) that gives the Birds a decent RZ threat, a B+ slot guy, possibly the most overpaid TE in the NFC, and a pile of hot garbage otherwise. That's still a bottom-10 NFL receiving corps, and that's the best case scenario. Right now they're more like bottom-5.
Having said that, I'm actually glad Howie didn't panic on the Huff news and overpay for a guy like Smith because, let's face it, this team ain't making a SB run this year with or without him. Better to see what falls to them in FA and the draft and keep some cap space freed up for '17 and beyond, when it might matter a bit more.
Not shocked at all. No sentence pending. NFL has said nothing. Guys gonna play. That's standard for all 32 teams. It's only when you get into the domestic abuse area that it gets a bit shady for teams now. They don't want the public appearance that they don't care.Huff is some serious serious trouble. New Jersey has strict gun laws. He's looking at 5 years for the gun and 2 for the bullies. Mandatory minimum.
Is is anyone shocked that Doug is letting him play? Some coaches would have cut him outright. This team is getting a little like Cinicinatti.
Just seems crazy that a guy might be heading to jail for 5 years and he's just suiting up and playing a football game like its no big deal. How does that not get in his head??And FYI, unless its a guy beating his spouse (or anyone) I really don't care anyway. Smoke weed, with a gun, while speeding is fine with me. Just catch some damn TD's

No one said it wouldn't bother him. The game might be a welcome distraction I would think.Just seems crazy that a guy might be heading to jail for 5 years and he's just suiting up and playing a football game like its no big deal. How does that not get in his head??
Might be his last game as an Eagle.
That didn't work out for Plaxico Burress. NY and NJ do not mess around with gun laws. Maybe you're right but I'm not sure how he beats this, these gun laws are super strict.need2know said:He won't see one day in prison
Yea there's pretty much no wiggle room if a judge wants to apply the letter of the law. That didn't work out for Plaxico Burress. NY and NJ do not mess around with gun laws. Maybe you're right but I'm not sure how he beats this, these gun laws are super strict.
I don't think anyone is mentioning that Huff also got a DUI. He was stoned and had two ounces of pot with him. That's not exactly a small amount. So he's already going to go into the league program for that alone. I'm kinda surprised Doug is letting him play. Andy likely would have cut him and someone like Belichick definitely cuts him. These are catastrophically poor decisions this guy has made. He's been here three years and most of the players live in jersey. I guess it's a giant assumption but doesn't he know the laws? Guess not. The other idiot Bradham walks into an airport with gun. What the hell is wrong with these guys? I get they often come from terrible bacjgorunds and many have learning deficits but doesn't anyone council these guys on the laws? I guess they do but falls on deaf ears...Yea there's pretty much no wiggle room if a judge wants to apply the letter of the law.
Wrong thread to be sure, but there's something to be said for Huff's argument here. Regardless of what side of the gun debate you're on, it's insane that we have vastly different gun laws from one locale to another. States rights meant a heck of a lot more in 1800 when it took a couple of days to travel from New York to Baltimore, and the overwhelming number of people never lived in a state other than the one they were born in (or migrated to from Europe) instead of today where you can travel 2000 miles in just a few hours or instantly communicate with anyone virtually anywhere in the world.Few key things from the ESPN Article:
Huff confirmed that the gun is licensed in Texas, and acknowledged that he wasn't as familiar with the New Jersey laws as he should have been. He said that he felt his life has been threatened in the past, which is why he chooses to carry a gun.
"I'm a professional athlete. What professional athlete don't have a gun?" Huff said. Asked if he believes if everybody in the Eagles locker room and around the league carries a gun, he said, "I do. Yes, I do."
Coach Doug Pederson said that there would not be any immediate discipline as a result of the arrest, and that the plan as of now is for Huff to play Sunday at the New York Giants.
Agree 100% and had the exact same thing occur to me when I read the details of Huff's arrest.Wrong thread to be sure, but there's something to be said for Huff's argument here. Guess Sproles will be doing return duties now?Eagles release Huff.......
Unless Agholor is released he isn't going anywhere.Maybe Huff's mentor Chip Kelly is looking for some high character, culture guys and will give him a job. And Toad Kelly is welcome to Nelso "I can't catch a football but I can grab an ### at a stripclub" Agholar.
I know man. But I can dream....Unless Agholor is released he isn't going anywhere.
I don't even want Desean back. I'm just over him. Jeff would be the dream for sure though, we definitely need some help and hopefully not through the draft. Don't want another young guy that's gonna take a year or two to develop. Feel like we can win next season. It means we'll be paying big $$$ to Alshon Jeffrey this offseason.... Not much else out there... DeSean or Garcon from Washington maybe, they aren't bringing both of them back.

Among the guys he drafted (or at least drafted during his tenure), here's the complete list of those who've played for the Birds this year ...how many chip guys do we have left?

... minus Hollowpoint Huff now, of course.
Sproles, I think, is the only one left that Chip acquired via trade. And incoming FAs from the Chip Buys the Groceries Era? Hoo boy. There's Mathews, Carroll, and ... ummmm ... probably one or two more that I'm forgetting, but yeah. Overall not a great look for the ol' Chipper.
I'm not an insider by any means but everything I've read suggests the Bears are expecting to be without Alshon next year. There's even a conspiracy going around that that's the reason he wasn't getting a ton of targets like usual, that they wanted to bring Kevin White up as he's their future #1.That is if he isn't tagged by the Bears again which is very likely.
And there he is - outta nowhere. If nothing else good comes from this at least we can look at Treggs. Maybe a winning lotto ticket. Kid can run.
At some point when this keeps happening you have to accept you're not the better team. The rookie QB and coach are both acting like rookies. They both have to show they can learn and grow and improve. The receivers are still a hot mess, though today was an improvement for them. The defense is only at good as the line, and today they disappeared for too much of the game. There's potential there, and I thought they could take advantage of this garbage division this year, but for now with their inconsistencies, they're part of the garbage. So yeah, I've given up on this season with playoffs but not for watching them grow and build.Once again we were the better team and we beat ourselves with horrendous play calling, drops, and poor time management. Deja vu anyone?
Lighten up Francis.Terrible coaching/play calling. Bad QB play.
Blocked FG actually ends up costing us the game too. Horrible day, season is over.
Atlanta will beat us by 30.
Carson threw high and tossed 2 picks right off the bat. Put us in a big hole.Missed the game. wtf happened? I can see we made a run late. I'm more interested how we got that down. and Eli threw 4 tds? cmon
we are just the least-clutch team ever. So frustrating when all our wins are convincing wins, and anytime we are in a close game we NEVER get the win. 0-4 in 1 possession games is brutal especially when we're 4-0 in 2+ possession games. Absolutely no finish.Back to back road games against divisional rivals coming off byes, both with winning records....two close losses.
All is not lost. It ain't pretty, but it's not lost
