Been watching this from a distance and it's really spectacular how bad Trump is at politics. I think there's a legit chance he will just quit. I am amazed how deeply we've buried the bar of qualification for our politicians. I'm a little embarrassed.Trump or no Trump, I'm amazed at just how blue Virginia has gotten in presidential elections. Hillary is already pulling her ads there because she doesn't need them.
I don't anyone is beating their chest in patriotic pride over this election.Been watching this from a distance and it's really spectacular how bad Trump is at politics. TimmyDown?I don't anyone is beating their chest in patriotic pride over this election.
Wish I could share in your optimism, but it's tough to watch all these fringe goobers and believe this.I don't anyone is beating their chest in patriotic pride over this election.
As was said before, Trump doesn't/didn't have the ability to do those things. I think we can all agree on that now, right?I don't think Trump has an actual economic plan. Can we talk about the economic plans of each candidate please? Is it just me or are these plans in the same vein as those when manufacturing was big here in the US? Every commercial or comment I see seems to be a nod back to the 50s and 60s as if what we need now is what we needed then. Do they understand times have changed and what we need to be talking about is how to get people back in the workforce and how to make wages less stagnate when they do get back in the work force? Seems like this "middle class manufacturing jobs" shtick has jumped the shark just a little bit. I don't need a plan for what you'd have done 50 years ago, I need a plan for what you're going to do in 2017 and beyond.....TIA

And while Hillary's plan has lots of noises about restoring manufacturing glory her policies will likely be driven by the Podesta Group and like minded international trade interests. I don't believe for a minute that Hillary will halt the TPP. I also don't think penalties are the way to keep manufacturing from being exported. My guess is the Clintons fall back on their pro Wall Street policies from the 90s but I don't expect wages to increase. This really isn't a goal of the Clintons IMO. Ideally lowering unemployment will be but Hillary doesn't really seem to focus on that.
Yes.I've paid little attention to Trump, so I'll take your word for it as it pertains to him![]()
Agree all around on Hillary. Do people really believe her proposals will be net helpful to individuals or are we at the point where "not Trump" is enough and it doesn't matter if throwing kittens in a fire is part of her platform?
Yikes....fair enough. This brings up a question I've been thinking about for a while though. Given the media is what it is, how's the best way to properly educate our electorate going forward?Yes.I've paid little attention to Trump, so I'll take your word for it as it pertains to him![]()

over this as if the exact same thing isn't true for their side of the establishment. With a few exceptions here in the FFA, is there anyone out there that really believed money didn't drive politics and that "pay for play" wasn't the standard in 99% of what goes down in Washington DC?
Nice, start with an easy one...Yikes....fair enough. This brings up a question I've been thinking about for a while though. Given the media is what it is, how's the best way to properly educate our electorate going forward?

I know...but that's where we are isn't it? There's a reason I haven't posted these sorts of questions in the
threads. Yeah, I like to watch and
some of the insane mental gymnastics in those threads, but there is little substantive debate in there. I figured I'd ask the question here in hopes that we might begin the discussion. Doesn't seem to be going too well. Much easier to be all
trying to "win" arguments on things that don't really matter.knee-jerk republicans are always going to vote for their candidate. same for knee-jerk democrats.Debates begin in a couple weeks, but a buddy and I were talking yesterday and wondering....how accurate is the polling at this point? How honest are people being for voting for Trump? It got me thinking. Who in their right mind would consider admitting they were voting for Trump?
When the democrats nominate a Kardashian or some Trump equivalent let's talk.knee-jerk republicans are always going to vote for their candidate. same for knee-jerk democrats.
we have a lot of knee-jerks in this country.
if you had told me last election that Clinton was going to be the candidate- given the hate for her (right or wrong I would've figured it to be a slam dunk for whatever Republican they trotted out. When the democrats nominate a Kardashian or some Trump equivalent let's talk.
And this is pretty much, in a nutshell, what I talk about all the time in these threads with respect to our continued lowering of the bar. Just doesn't make sense to meWhen the democrats nominate a Kardashian or some Trump equivalent let's talk.
Beat me to it......We can't make this #### up if we wanted to. Never in a million years could I come up with a story as unbelievable as the reality we are witnessing.
It would probably be pretty close to those percentages regardless of who the nominee was. Those people vote for the party.http://www.people-press.org/2016/09/21/in-their-own-words-why-voters-support-and-have-concerns-about-clinton-and-trump/
A third of Trump's support is based on the fact that he's not Clinton....one third. 32% of Hillary's support is based on the fact she isn't Trump. :smh:
Right there is a percentage of the population that would vote for a syphilitic, mentally challenged goat if it had the right letter behind it's name.It would probably be pretty close to those percentages regardless of who the nominee was. Those people vote for the party.

pretty sure he's (eta) still black.
We were watching the post-debate coverage on MSNBC and they went to a reporter onsite at some location in Ohio. By show of hands, they had 4 people who were planning to vote for Trump before the debate and 3 who were voting for Clinton. None said the debate changed their minds.Right there is a percentage of the population that would vote for a syphilitic, mentally challenged goat if it had the right letter behind it's name.
Team before country. It's shameful. We were watching the post-debate coverage on MSNBC and they went to a reporter onsite at some location in Ohio. The reporter asked one woman who was voting for Trump what she thought. She said "I'm voting for the conservative party, and if this is the jackass running the show, so be it" or something close to that. There wasn't the same quote from a Clinton voter but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find one.

My dislike for Hillary is well documented. But she has a right to be happy. The difference in expectations was so wildly different for the candidates and she still came out on top. If she had sighed or smirked or interrupted Trump 51 times she would have been in big trouble. She had to walk a fine line and did so. Credit where it's due my friend.Unfortunately, this is where we're at as a country. My favorite part of this whole thing is Hillary's ear to ear smile today....I think she really believes she accomplished something unattainable last night with a win vs Trump.....sad state of affairs.
Oh, I give her credit for winning....it's in direct proportion to the task at hand. Reality is, she didn't have to say a word last night as evidence of exactly zero new information from her on any of her plans that we didn't already know.My dislike for Hillary is well documented. You have to remember though we aren't the general population. For a lot of people this might be the first time they heard any of that. Low information voters totally outnumber folks who know what is what.Oh, I give her credit for winning....it's in direct proportion to the task at hand. I wonder...Why aren't they (the candidates) or the media not talking more about what's going on in North Dakota? Seems like a prime opportunity for one of these clowns to show their ability to lead if they are so inclined, yet, nothing.
Well with Jeb out the donor class wants to make sure it gets at least one of it's bought and controllable candidates in.Our current President has a pretty good dose of himself bottled up it seems. Apparently HIS legacy is on the line with this election. He's even telling Americans if they are voting for anyone but Clinton they are voting for Trump :smh:

I don't recall Reagan doing much but then he was dealing with Alzheimer's as we now know. Gore pushed Clinton away. Gore was still pissed that Bill lied to him and made him look like an idiot for repeating those lies. W stayed away because he was toxic.Carter has never really campaigned for anyone. Certainly not Nixon. Maybe Ford? But my memory could be off on that. You'd have to do some research to see for sure.Who was the last President this involved in an election?
