***Official 2017 NCAA Hoops Tourney thread: Congrats UNC, all the refs from NCCG should be banned for life*** (1 Viewer)

Wichita State showed once again they belong in the tournament even without an automatic bid. With everyone coming back should be back, even better next year.

Maybe one day someone can explain to me the physics of how you jump "straight up" and land 18 inches away from where you jumped.
Well his hands were straight up. Of that I think we can all agree. And I guess the point is, his jump was not in the offensive players space, therefore he is entitled to that space as much as the offense.

"The player with the ball shall be given no more protection or consideration than the defender in the judging of which, if either, player has violated the principle of verticality"

Offensive player is not supposed to be able to initiate contact that is not incidental. I guess you could argue him jumping into him was a normal basketball play but he didn't invade Shamets space kinda just flew by him.

Jackson is a detriment for Kansas so far.

Blocked by the rim, gaggle of turnovers, missed layup...

Got feet for hands today.

MSU gets off to a nice start and then its best player gets injured. That type of season.

If Bridges doesn't come back (and it doesn't look like he will), this game will be a blowout.

You do realize the earth is rotating and the surface is moving faster than 1000 mph.   It is a miracle he only moved 18 inches after jumping straight up.

Like that Sparty isn't too interested in crashing the offensive boards.  Their transition D has mostly been effective, but KU can be beat on the glass and will commit fouls battling for boards.

And now a stupid foul going for a steal to pick up his second foul.

Does this guy normally play this boneheaded?

He was up pretty high.  I'm thinking maybe he actually stayed in the air long enough for one full rotation of the earth plus an additional 18 inches.

MSU with Ward +9, without -16.

I think they gotta leave him out there the rest of the way and gamble that he won't fatigue or foul out. You can't compete with Kansas with Kenny Goins at center.

Good game, Sparty.  Closer than final score will indicate.

Lots of talent returning.  Hope y'all win your Champions Classic game in Chicago in November, and I hope I'm in the stands to see it.

That ####### Samsung ad with the thumpy noise make my dog think someone's pounding on the door EVERY DAMN TIME.
