He's can be a stud when he actually tries. I don't know if DH agree with this but my Cousin's in laws are from Chicago and Chicago hasn't bee keen on Jeffrey's lets just say weren't happy with his work ethic or lack there of. THere's rumors he's been milking injuries because he wasn't getting his way in Chicago. I don't like that type of personality with the younger WRs not the type of role model I want my WRs learning from. Despite that I'd have rather overpaid to get DeSean back not just for biased reasons but because I know what we'd have in him in terms of a person. This Jeffrey thing could blow p in their faceAlshon is definitely a risk, but he's a stud when he's on the field. After the Algholor disaster I can see them being weary of drafting a WR early.
And salary cap be dammed, we can't go into 2017 with that group of WRs. Can't stomach watching all those drops week after week after week.
See my post above....about to be a lot of changeI assume another cut happened, because how can they fit his 14 and Smith's 5 (assuming averagae 3/15) under the cap?
Yeah, how does a bidding war for an UFA result in a 1-year deal? Something doesn't smell right here. What if he has an amazing season and the gamble worked? Now you have to re-bid??? Head scratcher.Don't even know how Howie does sheet like this.
I'm betting on a lot of incentives in other deals. He basically takes the franchise tag to play with a better team and bets on himself.Yeah, how does a bidding war for an UFA result in a 1-year deal? I like it a deal I predicted earlier. BTW your SN looks familiar did you use to go to a baseball board too? A friend of mine use to read a message board with a guy in your SN?Schwartz & Feinsod@schwartzfeinsod

Jeffrey was unexpected deal.I'm more excited about warmack. But Jeffery too. Was not expecting this
Possibly. I've used this name on a bunch of boards for years. Don't visit any baseball boards regularly anymore.I like it a deal I predicted earlier. BTW your SN looks familiar did you use to go to a baseball board too? A friend of mine use to read a message board with a guy in your SN?
I'm liking this ... Hopefully betting on himself will result in a large increase in work ethic and reduction in injuries. Great moves by Howie with something to prove.Rapoport:
Alshon Jeffery turned down a multi-year deal with more security from Vikings, but he is betting himself long term with the Eagles and Wentz
That's the great thing about a 1 year prove-it deal. He's can be a stud when he actually tries. Sounds like the perfect scenario, love our day 1 of FA (so far). We need at least a vet CB and then hit CB hard in the draft still.Rapoport:

I think so too. Would like to see JMatt moved now. With both signed WRs basically 1 year deals, think we might still draft a WR in the first 3-4 rounds in case the FAs don't pan out?
Even as a Titans fan, I'm sad that the state of your OL leaves excited for Warmack. Obviously, there is a chance he gets his head out of his behind and actually start playing up to his draft potential, but I'd not put money on itI'm more excited about warmack. But Jeffery too. No, not with both these deals being 1-year, basically. It gives them a year to see which, if any, they want to extend. If Alshon gets popped foe PEDs and Smith lost a step, you're left with nothing if you traded J-Matt.I think so too. Would like to see JMatt moved now.
He's not the answer long term though. If those 2 don't turn out, and we want to extend jmatt to be our wr1 long term, we're in troubleNo, not with both these deals being 1-year, basically. If he's the BPA.I'll throw it out there now: do you go best available RB with #14?
ETA: CB would be nice here as well, depending on how it shakes out.
I threw that out in a group text and got the "chill on that" vibe. Which means while uncomfortable, might be a possible play.If he's the BPA.
I know it's not popular, but I think I'd like to see them go for Mixon later in the draft.
JMatt is never going to be a 1, but can be a solid slot guy to complement your outside guys. If he wants to get paid like a 1, then you let him walk. He's not the answer long term though. If those 2 don't turn out, and we want to extend jmatt to be our wr1 long term, we're in trouble
It's what everyone saw. You couldn't have a bottom 3 WR core while developing a QB.This shows what they thought of our wr core. Garbage
It sure opens that door. If DB's are as deep as they say you can surely wait on them.I'll throw it out there now: do you go best available RB with #14?

i live in Chicago. Jeffrey is no more or less motivated than any other established. the disarray from ownership, through the front office and coaches is close to epic. he wants to compete and that wasn't going to happen in Chicago. it didn't happen in 2016 or 2015. he's going to be great for Iggles fans. He's can be a stud when he actually tries. Along with Ertz and SprolesSo alshon. Torrey. Jordam mathews. Dgb. Agholor.
Ya. Can we say above average wr corps now?So alshon. Torrey. Jordam mathews. Dgb. Agholor.
Cb with first two picks for sure. No way to sign anyone good at this point.I'll throw it out there now: do you go best available RB with #14?

And young cbs need some time to develop and make an impact. We're gonna be in a ton of high scoring games next year.Cb with first two picks for sure. No way to sign anyone good at this point.
Howie: Hold my beerCb with first two picks for sure. No way to sign anyone good at this point.
Depends on how they feel about MIlls too. If he can be a solid starter that surely helps. Either way, the pick at 14 is now open to a few directions. DL, CB, RB even OL if we move on from Peters and Kelce or plan to.And young cbs need some time to develop and make an impact. We're gonna be in a ton of high scoring games next year.
