*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (3 Viewers)

Yes I read the quotes.  The context of those posts was mainly in jest.

And the Dodgers were mentioned because it's clear you came in here with a purpose to troll or get a rise.  Funny you can dish jabs at Eagles' fans and past success' but get defensive over anyone saying anything about your teams.  But hey, Cowboys fans gonna Cowboys fan I guess.
JFC.  ?

Bye

I'll admit I didn't see Carson as a high QB1 this year from a fantasy prospective.  Saw him as a low end QB1.  @Bigboy10182000 was pretty vocal about him being a top 5 fantasy QB this year from the start though.
I went into the year with Wentz as my backup.  He earned his way up to starter for me, but no way did I enter this season thinking he would be this good, this soon. I was just hoping for this production in another year or 2.

Was half joking but thanks for answering the call! Was just curious if it was part of the software. I know some boards can ban individuals from certain threads, pretty cool feature.
I don't know that the software can do it, or at least if so I wasn't aware of it.  But I recall some verbal "Don't post in this thread again" given out to people who were ruining any positive discussion.

Would you guys hang on to Blount in FF at this point or let him hit the road?
Depends on your options and waiver wire. Mine aren't good and, with bye week situation, I am playing him this week. Ideally, I would keep him,but bench this week to see how Ajayi affects things, but that will probably take until after the bye anyway.

I'm really confused as to why their are people in here now bashing Eagles fans.  Did I miss something or is just the cool thing to do?
It's just the cool thing to do. Take it as a compliment. When your team does god there's people who hate you just for your success. Take this from a guy who's a huge Florida fan. When they won Back to Back Titles in Basketball as well at the National Titles in Football it seemed like people hated Florida just because of their success or because Tebow played there. Plus theres a lot of folks who still believe the fairy tales of our fanbase so they just hate us because of those myths. I usually get a great laugh when fans of opposing teams are talking s*** that their team hasn't been in successful for yrs. I post at a Phillies board I remember some fan out of no where who was a Cubs fan talking ish. It was quite funny. My all time favorite was on the same board at the Time the Flyers were really great and year they lost in the finals to Chicago we had for some awkward no rhyme or reason a Toronto fan came over and was talking trash on Philly and the Flyers. Either way winning and success brings out all the haters.

Get ready. If the Eagles stay hot and continue to contend, it will get worse. If they have nothing bad to say about Wentz and Co., they'll remind us that we took out Rafeal Septian in 1988.  :lmao:
Or cheered Micheal Irving being injured and then booed despite the fact we cheered the Hauck hit on him and we got quite after realizing MI was hurt. We then booed because Deion was doing some stupid dance while his teammate was down. Two key parts many fail to point out.

There were plenty of people bashing Michael Vick when he was an eagle. And deservedly so. We took our lumps. Jerry Jones has made the choice to disregard character and go after the Greg Hardy's, Gregory's, and Elliott's in his quest to try to regain greatness. And it may pay off eventually. BUt doen't think those character issues are going to go unmentioned.
There were a ton of Eagles fans including myself who did not like the move to sign Vick. Not to go into too much detail glad he turned his life around but IMHO I feel like if any athlete in any sport is arrested for a crime like his they should be banned for life. Playing sports at a high professional level as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Soccer, etc is a privilege not a right and you mess it up you deserve to lose it. Either way yeah we had a ton of people bashing the Eagles.

Ok guys I have a serious question more so for fantasy next year since it's more of an eagles question then anything else. I have a keeper league PPR league where we keep 4 players and typical roster starting 1QB, 2RBs, 2WRs, Flex, Def/ST/K. I have Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Melvin Gordon and Gronk. I also drafted Wentz as my Rodgers insurance (Boy that has come in handy recently). I'm actually looking to possible get rid of Rodgers and keeping Wentz as I know I could maybe snag two draft picks pretty high from someone who would maybe take him. A 1st and maybe a middle 5-7 round pick. The Thing is for as good as Rodgers is do I want to pass up on a long term possible Keeper QB in Wentz who is much younger? I have a feeling the league I'm in could go another 10 or so yrs if everyone pretty much stays. Do you think at this point Wentz is worth my 4th keeper or should I keep the consistent top 3 QB almost every year? I obviously won't make this move till the offseason but it'd be good to get some opinions on it before our leagues trade deadline as a move or two I might make could determine my offseason moves as well.

Hope Darby comes back so the trade can at least be good for us - but Jordan Matthews in prime time tonight made it look like the right call to move on from him.

They did get a full year out of him despite how much you all wished it would be a complete failure.

The Eagles fans wishing other teams are so poorly managed is something that I hope comes back and bites you. Its really unnecessary salt in the womb Dbaggery on some of your parts.

I guess your team doing well isn't enough.
Seriously? That was intentional, right, Bia?

Otherwise :lmao:

Hands down I keep Wentz. Rodgers should bounce back and have several more years but you should have Wentz much much longer. And maybe it's not the coldly rational thing to do but if I'm faced with nearly equal decisions, I'm gonna keep the guy I love rooting for especially on my home team.

I feel like it’s going to be one of those AFC type games. You know Like a Baltimore/Pitt 16-9, 3 yards and a cloud of dust type slugfest. Not a lot of high flying offense, two real good D-lines but we have the QB.

Eagles 16-9.

It will be ugly but a “good” win. Lots of punts and FGs, a few sacks, but our QB makes the plays to get the Home W.

Wentz has taken a lot of hits, so I'd be happy with a running game slugfest, screen passes, and limited shots downfield.

Side note:  Remember last year (when we still picked at #11) when there was speculation about US picking Paxton Lynch?  whew.

Not to worry fans, I'll have my kids at the game this weekend and the Eagles are 8-0 when at least one of my kids are there.  Rest easy, enjoy the game, and you're welcome!

Here's a thought, call out those guys in those threads.  Personally, I don't do any of that crap, so I don't need to see this garbage in this thread.  Thanks.
Actually, thanks to this awesome ignore feature I don't have to see that guy's garbage ever again.

I'm going to say 13-3 Birds.  It's going to be very tough to score on that D.  This will probably be a pretty forgettable game entertainment wise.

If Brock Osweiler can beat us then maybe we weren't as good of a team as we thought.  But seriously can't see this happening.

I predicted 20-10, but I agree with you on Osweiller. I could see a few of his mistakes giving us some real good field position.  I just hope that the line (and backs) have a good game blocking and protecting Wentz. I cringe every time I see him get hit.

If the O-Line has the same showing they had last week Carson probably will get hurt.

The Den QB change has me worried. I always think of the 2010 Joe Webb game when we have to face a "bad" QB making a last-minute start for the opponent. Not sure if it's letting down our guard, not having enough tape to prepare for the QB, or a combination of both, but it always seems like it ends up bad for us.

If we do lose, and go into the bye 7-2, I can live with that and will be optimistic we come out even more pumped/hungry for the game in Dallas.

Exactly where I'm at.  This game has too many things that keep happening that are 'supposed to go our way'.  Denver and Brock are both playing for their seasons/careers.  Don't think Brock is just going to roll over or he's awful and we're going to light him up.  23-20.  Book it.

Only thing I'm worried about with Denver is their defense.  Their offense might be the worst we have seen so far this season.

I just heard Denver is randked second to last against covering the TE. Kelce feasted last week. Ertz and Burton game baby!

The Eagles score at least 20 and may render Oswieler unconcious.

24-6

We'll score. Their offense sucks so their defense eventually wears down. They've let up 29, 21 and 23 last 3 games (not sure if there were any DST TDs in that). We're going to score at least 20.

Not to pick a fight but you don't hear stories like this coming out of Green Bay, Pittsburgh, etc.

Philly fans are loyal, but you can't say they haven't been one of the quicker ones to turn on their team...

In these forums you guys seem like normal fans of any other team, so again, not trying to pick a fight. I enjoy talking with you guys and you seem like a fun bunch. Unlike some of the more negative stories one might hear coming from any city out there.
National media makes Eagles fans sound way worse then they are. Packer fans for years pulled their pants down and mooned visiting player you rarely heard a word about it. They dwell on Santa because honestly there has been a ton of things they can dwell on that would make national headlines.

eh, he's had that longer than u think. why can't someone be a fan of more than one area for different sports?

you guys criticize him on antagonizing and then you post stuff like this...
he came in here talking trash yes Im sure he has been a fan a while two top franchise from different parts of the country thats what you call a bandwagon fan. Funny how most people arent Browns and Padres fans when they do that or did he just happen to like the uniforms

He liked the star as a kid.

We may talk sh!t about our front office or coaches, but we are as loyal as any fans in the league. Every one of us is still right here. As I stated earlier, we have grown to be a cynical bunch. Unlike bad franchises like Cleveland, we have been right there. Many times. And we are used to falling short. Either in the championship game or the Super Bowl. It's what we're used to. But I'd take these guys into a back alley or fox hole with me any day of the week. Loyal and tough. That's what this bunch really is.  Not classless and bullying, like some people would like to believe.
it is different with this fanbase then others. i think a great example is that d-bag who beat up the old dude in the Carolina game. you see that video and you see this punk beat up an old man sitting down and everyone looking on, filming it or just in awe. First thing i thought of is that an incident like that would be different in Philadelphia.

It's funny because i assumed other fanbases were like us, but i guess there is something with some groups of fans, and in Philadelphia I would bet the over that there is a 95% chance if that incident occurs that some dudes sitting around and seeing it would have pummeled that kid and held him there for security, or something else. I have never seen a kid turn around and punch an old man sitting, but i have witnessed fan correcting at other events, and to be honest it seems like it is just a normal thing to do. That is why i was so surprised that so many people reacted so differently. It just seemed like a given, and even sort of any responsible adult in that area, to stop that kid from beating the old man up and likely utilizing force to do it.

I know other fans see this as fake bravado, or some sort of machismo, but for the most part it really isn't. It is just kind of a fact, and if that happened in Philly and the surrounding fans reacted the same way i would be hugely dissapointed. It's the kind of thing if i was in the crowd and on tape watching some old dude, who is sitting down, get beat up and people/family i knew saw that, i would catch a ton of heat. Dissapointed looks, etc.

But i think it i a fact that this fanbase (and i am sure there are a handful out there where it is similar. I equate it more to a NE/blue-collar city thing then just Philly) would feel a responsibility to do something, and not really care or think about how it looks or whatever people would do. And i think this carries over to the fandom from the fanbase. I think we would all agree it isn't always positive and not all would think this way (i'm hoping 60/40, but we all know the Philly fanbase has more then their fair share of idiots), but it is a bit of a different mentality

:bag: not all of us did the above. I was young and dopey though, so legit excuse

I actually love both guys. When people ask me who my favorite player outside the Eagles is I always would say Peyton Manning but since Rodgers took over in GB it's been him. It's a win win either way and GB was the one team my Pop Pop didn't mind us rooting for in the 90s as it had a lot of ex Eagles and the two teams are kind historic to each other in numerous ways.

It's just the typical bandwagon fan team picks. Like in the 90s was Yankees Cowboys. Lebron James is a Yankees cowboys fan and given how he's handled his team picking they like to bring up how he's a bandwagon player.
