*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (4 Viewers)

What a win, what a team.  Exciting stuff going forward.  This team is pretty close to clicking on all cylinders.  Now the players get a week to rest and get healthy.  They just seem so focused right now.  Lot of talk for McVay getting Coach of the Year but Pederson has to be right up there with him.  He's doing things his mentor would have never done.  He can adjust on the fly and figure out what is working and what isn't.  Our soon to be franchise QB is playing just about as good as Brady or Rodgers has in their careers and it's only his 2nd year in the league.  Wow!

Coming out of the bye it'll be a Rumble in Jerrah World.  That will be a fun game to watch.  Really think we can take it to any team in this league confidently now.  Who would've thought that after Pederson was hired??  #FlyEaglesFly

Yeah, this has been one of the best years to be an Eagles fan that I can remember.  During the run where they made the championship game every year, we knew we were a contender and we had some great players, but that's not the same as discovering that the QB you traded a bunch of picks for is not only a franchise QB, but may be a top 3 NFL QB already in his second season.  The 'Eagles fan' in me is still waiting for the other shoe to drop. It seems too good to be true right now. Everything Howie does turns to gold. Acquisitions are all playing well. Past 'failures' (Agholor, Burton) seem to have figured it out.  Subs are filling in nicely for injured starters... It's just been a great season.   Beating Dallas in Dallas will be huge. The Cowboys are starting to put it together.  It would be great to have that huge cushion at the top of the division.  It's also a great time for the bye. It seems like our bye has sucked the last few years. This one comes at a perfect time.  Allow Ajayi to learn the playbook. An extra week to scout and prep for Dallas...and to heal up some bumps and bruises as we get ready for the homestretch.

I live right across the river from Fargo, seen about every snap wentz took in college so I am a pseudo eagles fan along with most of the town here (you should see the eagles section of jerseys and such in the bigger stores here, just as much gear as Vikings stuff).  So fun watching Wentz tear up the NFL!

He seems impressed to me:

"They knew everything that we were going to be doing [on defense]," Harris said. "They had a great game plan. Carson Wentz is a great quarterback. It seemed like the Chiefs' offense. They just executed a lot better. We played a great offense. It's the best offense we've seen."
Not the quote I saw and I forget who it was who works for NFL Network who posted it but he basically called it a college offense. Maybe I read it wrong but he was asked what makes it so hard to defend Wentz He said its a collage offense kind of what the Chiefs run. Option to run and option to pass. They run the read option the Real Option. He's checking to a lot of Things. It's a a college Offense and he's just executing it very well."

I don't know about everyone else but I hate the term college offense as that seems like something that is used often to describe QBs or offenses guys aren't impressed with. The Eagles offense has College options and offense in it yes but it's a hybrid offense that uses many of the Andy Reid/Mike Holmgrin WCO in it that Pederson took with him to here. Also the quote came from Jesse Palmer the NFL Network guy who covers the Eagles.

I've seen the Dolphins a few times now. Man, that Gase looks like some sour####. Do I remember this correctly, was he not Lurie's most coveted candidate until he asked for too much power? Egads this dude is Chip 2.0. Only because Miami knows about Chip's act up here, I wonder if he lasts as long? When will these egomaniacs learn that it "ain't the Xs and the Os, it's the Billys and the Joes?"

I'm so happy we got a coach with "emotional intelligence"!  ;)
I believe that's correct. Yeah Gase I'm surprised because he's the guy many people in Den credited for helping adapt the offense to Tim Tebow when he was there because Fox was not playing well with others. From what I remember Elway forced Fox to play Tebow after how bad Kyle Orton was doing. Fox apparently wasn't a fan but Tebow and Gase met a lot together and got an offense that both felt comfortable with and could teach the other guys quick enough. It had some success and yes their Defense was a huge part where they got too but there was a lot of praise in inner circles of coaching towards Gase for adapting like that and putting his job on the line when his HC was not about any of it. While the media credited Fox for it many fans and Den media were praising Elways for making Fox play Tebow and Gase for adapting. And quick Edit he was the QB Coach at the time he became OC when they went to Chicago him and Fox.

Here's a post by Dave George of the West Palm Post where he says Gase got more production in Den with Tebow at QB then he has with Mia

Gase got more done with Less in Den

Our ceiling is ________

Ive been struggling with this answer since the 3rd quarter of yesterday’s game. Whenever I worry about a close game or think we peaked they do something like this.  We actually had a few drops and could have had 2-3 more interceptions yesterday as well. It’s crazy how good we are.
Jeffrey had at least two balls he should've had no excuse for the drops. Defensively yeah they should be caught but that's why those guys are on that side of the ball. To be fair Osweiler did throw a few with a lot of hot sauce that if they were thrown with a little less are probably picked off. That ball Douglas Missed and probably takes in for 6 was a missile that I'd have been wowed if he caught it. I'm just shocked Douglas wasn't drafted sooner though. Guys like him with big play ability out of a conference known for Offense I'd have probably had him higher in the draft. He's a great value where we got him though. I still hope I'm wrong about Jones but I think Tony Romo made a great point yesterday. People are comparing Jones to Marcus Peters which is great but Peters doesn't like the tackle and neither does Jones. Deion got a bit upset with Romo's comment where he basically said Peters makes Sanders look like a good tackler and Peters wants nothing to do with tackling. To me that's something I think Schwartz and myself would want from my DB's. Guys who want to tackle. Watching Peters I never noticed it till Romo said something about it but now watching him he reminds me of Deion in that category. Great cover CB but shied away from the physicality.

With the Super Bowl in Minnesota this year, I wonder how many North Daktoians would make that journey to watch their boy.

Denver had not allowed a team to gain over 300 yards of total offense this season, until yesterday. Eagles gained 419.
Also hadn't allowed a 100yd rusher all season. Team wise Eagles had 198 on the ground and that's with a Back up LT and without your first ballot LT. BTW Lane handle V Miller like a rag doll yesterday

I apologize in advance if some of the your friends and family ditch the Minny Gear for the Wentz and Eagles Green  :D

Either way I've been a huge Wentz fan since College myself. I accidentally came across a ND game maybe his JR year and can't remember the game but after that game instantly fell in love with Carson and been a fan ever since

Oh god, there would be thousands the way Bison fans travel and spend money (hell I made the trip to Texas twice for the championship games and I'm not even one of the geeked out fans with a painted up bison bus or what not). There would be bison jerseys all over Minneapolis if that were to happen.

And Eagles Jerseys of Wentz.

I'm a Giants fan and I'm sickened by the lack of respect from NFL network. If you said I had to throw my 10 units on a team this very moment, it would be Philly without a second thought.

Disclosure: I married a hot Roxborough chick who bleeds green and I love her, but I'm not prejudiced on this point. I'm loving watching this team play.
Roxborough in the house!  Nice.

Will be tested the next few weeks with Zeke Howard and Gurley

Wanted to throw my hat into the Wentz #1 fan club.  Life long Eagle fan. Went to school at NDSU. Saw Wentz win all of his college championships.

I dont live in Fargo anymore but I know what your saying. The stores now have a whole section dedicated to Eagles gear. So strange to see. Also I was back in Fargo a couple months ago at a sports bar the Eagles game was on the big screen. Back in the day I would have to find the 32 inch screen in the corner of the bar and watch the Eagles game with no sound.

Sometime hard for me to except all these new Eagle fans as I don’t think they have struggled through the tough years. But I’ll give them a pas.

Totally forgot about McVay for some reason.  I thought Doug had it in the bag (so far).  Just based on how the criteria usually works, if the Rams get a bye I think McVay would win it.

If the Eagles go 15-1 or 14-2 and Doug doesn't get it, the award is meaningless.

I'd like to agree, but what is more impressive?

Team A:  Expected to win 5 games and winning 13
Team B:  Expected to win 8 games and winning 14.

Of course I'd rather Doug as a coach over McVay and think he's better.  But as for the award, I think we need to finish with 2 more wins than the Rams for Doug to get it.

The Rams also went from dead last in PPG last year (14) to first place in PPG this year (33).  That's nutty.

She's got to be a Dalessandro's fan, correct?

Dalessandro's & Chubby's for cheesesteaks, Marchiano's for tomato pie.
Chubby's is right across the street from Dalessandro's, correct? Somehow, I have never gotten a cheesesteak from there. I will let me brother know about the tomato pie, he still lives in the Philly area (I live in Houston, but grew up in Philly)

They can call it a CYO offense for all I care. As long as Wentz is running it well and they are winning I'm happy.

True story-Chubby's is better.

Delco’s  .  One down here in FL too.

I don’t think I’m crazy when I say that I am happy for the Eagles just to be righting the ship after a number of dismal seasons.  Anything more than that moving forward is gravy IMO and I’m happy for the organization and all the fans.

I guess it’s subjective but Dalessandro’s has the best cheesesteak in the city IMO. And I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

I agree I just feel the College Offense comments are usually meant as pot shots and such.

Grew up in Philly and cheesesteaks always seemed the same wherever we went.  Never did Pat’s or Geno’s ever.  I was more of a Lee’s Hoagie House kind of kid.

Geno’s and Pat’s aren’t bad at all. They’re good too just more touristy, if that makes sense.

There’s so many places that make a good cheesesteak

Ive always had a lot of  respect for the great Eagles teams of the early 90s Jerome Brown ,Reggie ,Randall Cunningham , etc..gave my Giants fits!! possibly the greatest team to never win a sb. they were just incredible..so were some of the Saints teams with Hebert and Swilling and Montclair State's own Sam Mills..The thing that bothers me about this current Eagles' team is the coaching and in particular Doug Pederson..he comes from the  Andy Reid tree of inept coaching..with all the chips on the table is he going to choke it away like Reid always does??  thats the important question. the Rams have experienced SB winning coaches..and I  wonder if Eagles are  just front-runners ..they have 2 games v. dallas ,at seattle , at rams, host oakland ,chicago, giants etc..theyre likely to lose 4 or 5 more games..shades of 2016's massive collapse.. theyve played some easy games against some really bad teams. struggled to beat nyg and sd and carolina among others..they blew out a hapless denver team. who hasnt dome that to denver??? dallas nyg and eagles have spanked Denver..i feel like the eagles are the Andy Reid Chiefs of the East..good at the start but teams catch up with what theyre doing with the cutesie 76 pre snap shifts and bubble screen looks and other gimmicks..

we'll see how it goes ..theyre likely to finish 10-6 or 11-5 at best..#2 seed...just cant see them winning the remainder of their games

I don't think the Eagles will win the rest of their games either. But to finish 10 and 6, they would have to be 2 - 5 from here out. Only way that would happen is if Wentz was injured. I'm thinking they finish 13-3.

Also, lol at saying they're successful because of cutesy gimmicks. They have the best defense in football right now. And with the exception of possibly Brady, the best quarterback play in football. Nothing gimmicky about that. Will the rest of the league catch up? They always do. There are 31 other teams full of professionals and great coaches. Oh, and by the way, to say who else hasn't blown out Denver? No one had ever put up 300 yards against them this season. The Eagles put up more than 400. Must have been a gimmick. LOL

It's an odd year in that most of the teams are just mediocre to awful.  But there is absolutely no mistaking that the Eagles look to be the most dominant team in the NFL this year.  I would bet a lot of money that they will finish better than 10-6.

ETA - But I'm pretty sure you're just trolling coming into an Eagles thread with that garbage.  Now back to cheesesteaks.............
