*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (2 Viewers)

I was just coming in here to explain that. Banker you're a good dude. I have no idea where you live but "cockroach" used here in Philly is meant for the locals that root for Dallas. You might be stunned how many of them are here. They hide in darkness when their team stinks but when they are successful they can be quite brazen about it. I can tell you of many times I've been to Eagles games versus Dallas here in Philly and when the game is in hand for the Cowboys, off come the jackets to reveal the jerseys. Takes balls I have to say. It's easier to pull that at the Link than it was at the Vet. I got no issue with a visiting fan wearing their colors. It's the whole surreptitious act the Dallas fans pull that no other team does that makes a lot of us nuts.
These are the Dallas Cowboy fans that I despise.  Also the bandwagon jumpers too.  As far as I heard the actual Texas Cowboy fan is quite nice and cordial.

Banker has been a good dude for as long as I can remember. Never have a problem with that guy. There are a few Dallas fans on this board who are obnoxious and love to troll. The trolling obviously picks up when the team is doing well. I think we'd see more obnoxious eagles fans if we weren't so used to having the rug pulled out from under us whenever we think we have a shot at the title. Every one I know is very cautiously getting optimistic, while also preparing for something to go wrong.

Do you have anything else to add, or do you want to keep telling how much of a disadvantage the Cowboys are at this week while saying its no excuse?  Wasn't this a 5-3 team even WITH all of those guys?  The Eagles lost a bunch of starters this too.  Let's just see how the rest of the year plays out, shall we?
i'm impressed we haven't heard about how Goodell is making the refs call games against the Cowboys yet. I have heard that one floated around quite a bit, thankful it isn't being pushed too much in the FBG threads

Heard it from a Cowboy fan on the radio yesterday. Said the Eagles are 8-1 thanks to the refs not calling penalties against them.

Oh yeah, I have no qualms with @Bankerguy.  Very cool Dallas fan...even though Dallas sucks!

I am not one to #####, but 1 interesting note ... no offensive holding called on our opponents Oline for 5 straight games going against Lawrence and Irving et all.

Guess you have to hope Pete Morelli calls this one.  He'll throw all the laundry on the field against the Eagles.

Obviously that caller hasn't watched an Eagles game this year. We are playing eleven plus the officiating team every game.

Hi Banker,

That title is aimed more at the Philly Cowboy fans not Texas Cowboy fans.
Yeah....I think there's a lot of DAL fans in TX who doesn't understand that there's a difference to PHI fans between a TX DAL fan and one from Philly country.

The only game I can recall that was one-sided against the Eagles (and unwarranted) was the Panthers game.  Certainly a stretch from saying that they're going up against the officials every single week.

Agreed, that game was horrendous but I can't remember any other BS infested penalty games against the Eagles this season.

Every team gets screwed a couple games a season and every team gets some beneficial calls.  There isn't some conspiracy where the league is out to get the Eagles.  Usually the teams that are penalized the most heavily are the ones who are actually undisciplined

I get annoyed when my fellow Steelers fans blame the refs for everything as well.

yeah I can't think of one that was lopsided for the Eagles, but the only one that really stood out to me was the Panthers game. I think with it being a national TV game, there was enough attention on it that it likely won't happen again

Sounds like the caller was insinuating the opposite.  That the refs were out helping the Eagles.  Any evidence of that being the case?

I doubt the refs were "helping" the Eagles.  That seems ludicrous to me.  Honestly I have no clue but I'm sure the Eagles have benefited from some bad calls throughout the season (as has every other team)

Yes, ludicrous is the perfect word.  Can't think of a single example. Probably a Cowboys fan who needed an excuse for Philly to be 8-1.

definitely. The Cowboy fans here most have never been to a Cowboys Home game and root against the Eagles for petty reasons. The only Cowboys fans who have an exception are those who moved from Texas or they were raised by a parent from Texas and keeping the family tradition going. Most would think because I like the Chicago Bulls I'm some bandwagon fan but that's the team my Older cousin watched when we were younger and he was basically my best friend growing up. I tried to get into the Sixers but I was never a Fan of AI and his antics or how the team has been run for yrs. I tried to but it just wasn't happening. I've always stayed loyal to the Bulls even during the Vinny Del Negro yrs and prior. My 2nd cousin who's more of a my cousin do to age has family in Chicago on his wife's side. We're trying to put a trip together as his Father in Law is a huge Bulls fan where I can go with My cousin and his wife to Chi and we could see a Bulls game maybe a Blackhawks but definitely a Cubs and Bulls game. Not sure if it'll happen this year or what but I'm excited for it eventually

I did like how the very next game against the skins the Eagles we're penalized on the first 4 plays though. Almost as a reminder not to complain about the refs.

I mean it didn't hurt that they won 6 titles either amirite.

Zeke stops appeal process.
honestly, i have to think everyone is happy about that. the more he appealed the more it was in the news every week. the criminal (maybe civil, i literally have 0 clue about legal proceedings) case is in December i believe so that will certainly bring this all up again since now it has become a bigger story. a guy like Joe Mixon, who did at least as worse, did a very good PR job of getting it out of the news

My feel for this week is that we win, but it's tough/close. I keep thinking about how we were supposed to annihilate the NYG o-line in Week 3 because of all their issues, and we didn't even get a sack. Expect a lot of quick passes and Dak roll-outs so he can run/escape the rush.

Just checked, the Eagles are (-59) in penalty yards.  They are right in the middle of the league.
I think it was more the Carolina game that I'm upset about.  I'm not at all insinuating there's some conspiracy against us, or that it happens EVERY game, but that game was ridiculous and that crew has a hate on for us for sure.

Yeah but the team didn't realize what they were yet. It's like that moment in the Matrix when Morpheus says, "He's beginning to believe!"

They are going to bury Phallus and the bury the shovel they buried them with.

Douboe digit beat down.

I like the cut of your jib Kwai.  #TexasBeatdownForseen

With Smith our they’re starting Byron Bell at LT. anyone know anything about him, is he competent enough or a turnstile?

With the lack of adjustments made at halftime last week are the cowboys going to game plan that side some help? Alter the offense to quick passes, dumpoffs, and screens? Or they just rolling with business as usual?

Maybe @Bankerguy can help with some insight on their plans.

IIRC, Bell gave up at least 1 sack.  I fully expect them to do as you said and use a lot of the short passing game and Witten's usual "run 12 yards and turn" route over the middle.  Probably move the pocket and use Dak's mobility to the edges.  I wouldn't be surprised if they're successful on their first drive or two till Schwartz gets it figured out.

Forget the article, but a blurb I read today:

"Bell replaced Chaz Green at left tackle last week after the later gave up six sacks and a bevy of pressures with no resistance. Bell performed little better, getting burned as well. Bell last started a game back in 2015 for the Tennessee Titans. Before that, he was mostly a turnstile with the Carolina Panthers in 56 starts."

Bell has a lot of experience & is only 28. Long-term, he may or may not be better than Green.

After the first couple of sacks, I think Green panicked & it affected his performance. Green should've been pulled MUCH sooner.

Bell won't panic which is why he should start this game. After that, we'll see.

From our perspective, hopefully, Pollack has worked his magic with Bell the same way he's done with Johnathan Cooper.

Cooper, once considered a bust, has been a revelation at LG (replacing Green earlier in the season). He was the 7th overall pick in 2013 (Cardinals) & has also been with the Pats & most recently the Browns. Great offseason addition. Most of Cooper's issues have been injury related so it looks like we got a huge steal.

Bell has some tools to work with. I wouldn't be surprised if he performs admirably. We'll see.

BTW, off-topic, but I've never understood why teams struggle with their OL for years.

If a front office can't put together a decent OL in a couple seasons, they should be fired, IMO.

Guys like Cooper are out there. Look what the Vikings did in one offseason.

It CAN be done. There's absolutely no excuse for having a poor OL.
