*Official 2017 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Parade of Champions Down Broad Street! (3 Viewers)

Don't see Gronk retiring.  This was an end of an emotional game response - dude just wants to exhale a bit.  He'll be back.
I agree. Chris Rose and the guys on Gameday Prime said the something however said do to Gronk's Injury history the fact he has multiple SB wins seeing him walk also makes sense and wouldn't be a huge shocker when looking at everything

Here's a list of every quarterback in NFL history who's had a game with 3 TDs, 350 or more yards and 65 percent accuracy in consecutive postseason weeks:

Nick Foles

@Insein I have a request for the thread title. I really REALLY want to see “Official Super Bowl Champion” in the title every time I come into the FFF.
Done

I'm biased on this but I think others would agree Burton is a nice insurance policy when Ertz is banged up or misses a game. He also contributes on special teams. He's gotten a bit better as a blocker too. I just don't think you can let that go. He's a nice #2 TE. I was simple saying Celek do to the money he's owed and the cap hit to let him go is well worth cutting him. I love Celek and what he's done for the Org but he's had his SB and that money can be better spent else where.
Honestly I think Celek retires. What else does he have to prove. He finally reached the promised Land and had a good NFL career. Keep Burton and Ertz. That's a helluva combo.

"cut their hearts out" - Kobe Bryant

I don't care who you are; if you say that to Philadelphians you're gonna get a reply... especially if you are from here. Yeah, I get that he was going for a championship, but you don't say that to your hometown. He deserved each and every one of those boos.

He was finally dead to me when he was wearing a Dodgers' jersey at a playoff game.
He's competing for a title yeah if I wasn't in my hometown I'd probably be the same way. I'm trying to work and if it interferes with my money gain beaitng my hometown then so be it.

Well, the season is over and time to focus on the off season and the draft. Things aren't that great there.... we have no 2nd rounder AND our 1st pick is number 32.
We have great depth, and FA's are gonna want to come here.  If you were a FA right now, and if it wasn't all about the $$ - how is Philly not a top choice?  Super Bowl aside, you know this team is special, serious chemistry, they take care of their own.

Tight against the cap though - some hard decisions will have to be made.

Easy decisions:

Torrey Smith is gone - will save 5 mil, with no dead cap money.  No brainer, as much as I like him as a human being, he's not worth it, and Mack Hollins is waiting.

Brent Celek - 4 mil cap hit if cut.  Love the guy, but we need the cap space.  He got his ring, no hard feelings imo.  I'm glad we got him a ring though, will make this easier.

Hard Decisions:

Jason Peters - coming off an injury, with Vaitai playing decent - worth it?  8 mil cap savings if cut.  Tough call though.  Dude is an Eagles HOF, possible NFL HOF.  I'm hoping for some kind of restructure to help out and let him retire an Eagle.

Brandon Graham:  1 mil dead cap if cut/traded.Last year of deal, and we have promising Barnett in the wings, with Long as a backup too.  Don't think he'll want to hang around without a new deal.  Gut says he gets traded, although that being that one play in the Super Bowl might change things up!

Vinny Curry:  6 mil dead cap, 5 mil savings if cut.  This tied to the Brandon Graham decision, imo.  We keep one and cut/trade the other.  Not sure which.  If I had to bet, I say we trade Graham - might get more compensation, he needs a new deal.  Could go either way though.  I don't see us keeping both though....

Michael Kendricks:  3 mil dead cap, 4 mil cap savings.  I think we move on, but we need to get some LB help then - we cannot count on Hicks to stay healthy!

Not many other places to save money, unfortunately...

Looking close at the numbers on Foles - it doesn't look likely we trade him this offseason.  Next year, yeah.  This year, almost no cap savings.  We'd be eating a lot of his salary...

he might.  hell of a career, way to go out.   Glad we got him a ring.

Agree with most, but not all:

How much in savings if they cut Celek?
I'm keeping Graham and letting Curry go. What's Long's contract looking like?
Thought Foles was only under contract for next season and then he's a Free Agent.

Well I'm one guy who's always believe in BG so I can't say I'll eat crow but I will say I was wrong with Agholar to an extent. I think we found our #3 WR.
i was definitely wrong on Kelce last year. i know there was maybe 2 of us still with Agholar, but i was thinking Kelce was holding the line back for most of last year. man, never been happier to be wrong

Long is staying.  2 mil cp hit for a release, he's worth it, and not that expensive.

Cap hit: $2,350,000

if cut -

2018 Dead Cap: $400,0002018

Cap Savings: $1,950,000

no clue on Curry/Graham - I can can certainly see them keeping Graham.  Just don't see anyway they keep both.

foles has a weird contract - it's a 5 yr contract, but voids after 2018 if he's on our roster.  So we can trade him, and the next team gets him for 3 years I think?

The thing is...you think about the people who are fans of this team....people who lost loved ones who loved this team. It's perfect.   It's awesome.  The Old Guard......I love that they got this Super Bowl before they left this world.  I love this win more for the people who have suffered longer than I have.  The media show the younger crowd out there......but hell....those 60-70-80 year olds who have been crushed year in and year out...... who are just sitting home watching......this is theirs. It's all of ours.
yeah, that was awesome being out there. i live in Manayunk, and main street was packed. was talking to 2 guys who were alive for the '60 championship and saw this. 60-70 year old women hooting and hollering.

but your 1st part was true too. My wife was bummed most of the night because she lost her mother a year ago who was a huge Eagles fan. so many mixed emotions and a weird night. Was awesome!!

I think they keep Graham cut Curry. Curry has been way too inconsistent where BG has really thrived.

I think Kendricks is underrated and this year finally showed what we can do. It's hard to cut him with the thin depth behind Hicks who's injury prone. They need to Resign Bradham IMHO though.

I'm more so hoping if Peters isn't back I hope it's more so it's retiring because that really helps the Cap. Though I understand him if he wants to come back.

Then if Sproles wants to play he's done on his contract so what do we do there? Clement/Ajayai are definite keepers. Would love if Blount came back on a team friendly deal if he wanted to be back and team wanted him. I think Smallwood is gone possible Pumphrey cut after camp.

Give Mac Attack Torrey's spot.

Bring in LB/S depth and someone to be mentored by Jenkins.

Some Oline Depth

Better Returners as well if Sproles doesn't come back.

Kelce was held back by whats his face at LG. Allen Barbre. My old Gym teach who coaches the HS Football team and played Oline at Univ Tenn said it to me all last year. My Personal trainer who I've been seeing to help with my lower body strengthening played the same position and do to his smarts was offered a job with the 49ers maybe 10 yrs ago doing video/film work but turned it down do to the amount of $ he'd get plus the amount to move plus the bad pay wasn't worth the long work hrs. He said the something about Kelce/Barbre. Always thought Kelce was underrated but I was ok trading him if Isaac Seamulo (SP) played well enough or developed better.

Just got back to the hotel from US Bank.  Oh.  My.  God.  Just an incredible fun weekend up here capped off with THAT!

I can't even describe the emotions and the mental exhaustion that I'm sure you all went through too.  It was at least 2-1 eagles fans in the stadium maybe 3-1 and we were LOUD.  So proud of the fans.  Felt like the Linc in there. I had an out of body experience on the Graham strip.  Life felt like slow motion and I couldn't even process what was happening.  At the end tons of hugging total strangers, high fives, eagle chants.  Unforgettable.

I don't post in here as much as some of you but congratulations to all of you.  We ####### did it!!!!!!!!!!
:lmao:  same here. i literally got light headed and had to sit back down. had people around me jumping and i just sat down with my jaw hanging just staring

seriously. trying to strategize this parade, no idea what to expect
I took the Broad Street line from Fern Rock for the Phillies parade and it was so packed at Fern Rock, it couldn't make any stops.  We just zoomed past every stop and each station was filled with PO'ed fans wondering why we weren't stopping.  I can't imagine what its going to be like with a projection of 3x the people.  Since I made the last parade and we already had a blast celebrating at the NFC Championship game, I may just stay away and watch on TV,  But, I may try to find a place to drive within (long) walking distance early in the morning, grab breakfast, take in parade and try to find some of that free Bud Light after and hang around until the crowd clears a bit.

I wanted to wait a bit but I just couldn't.

The Eagles have some serious discussions coming up about Nick Foles. Since taking over for Wentz he has played at an MVP level just like Wentz.

Season stats including playoffs but omitting the Rams and Cowboys game due to not a full game sample.

5 Games Played: 1427 Yds - 11 Tds - 2 Ints

5 Game Average: 285 Yds - 2.2 Tds - 0.4 Ints

16 Game Projection: 4560 Yds - 35.2 Tds - 6.4 Ints

I'm not going pull Wentz's number for contrast because IMO it's easy to see. We must keep Foles another season and allow Wentz to heal on his own time frame. We are actually in a great position as we don't have to rush Wentz back into action.

I posted this on Reddit but I still feel the same in that Foles needs a certain coach and team structure. I could see Frank Reich getting a HC job in 2019 and taking Foles with him. IMO that is best scenario for both Frank and Nick.

:lmao: Yeah it is!!!!!!! Can't believe you saw through my "fake out!"
:lmao:  We do have a couple curmudgeons around here so I wasn’t 100% certain, but I thought it’s the damn day after we win the Super Bowl he can’t be serious! :lmao:  Nice work.

This is my thought as well. Foles will stay for 2018 because of the uncertainty about Wentz and his knee. I was thinking Reich and/or DeFillipo may well get head coaching jobs in 2019 and Foles may well go with one of them if their team needs a QB. Heck, if Schwartz gets a head job, I could see him hiring someone from this staff as OC and possibly taking Foles.

And so the poaching and attempts to emulate the Eagle’s and Pederson’s formula begins.

Adam Schefter

@AdamSchefter

Vikings would like to talk with Eagles’ QB coach John DeFilippo about their OC job but cannot do so until 10 days until after Philadelphia’s season ends, which would be Feb. 14, per league source. Right now, Vikings appear willing to wait.

Guys I could see being let go are Brent Celek (save $4M), Torrey Smith (save $5M) and Chance Warmack (save $1.1M).  I expect them to give Brandon Graham a new contract that may lower his cap number next season from $8M.  I also think it makes sense to explore trading Foles as it will save $5M.  Chris Long is a guy I really want them to bring back.  When the lights shone the brightest, he played his best.

I'm driving down.  Hopefully going to find a space at the lot across from Hahnemann Hospital and walk down to the Parkway.  Then when it's over walk back and it's a one block drive to get back onto 95.

@The Noid you end up making it to the game?

@fred_1_15301 Thanks for coming along the ride with us this year.  You should hop off the steelers and join us for good next year!
Haha - It was a fun ride and I won a lot of money off of them as well (bet the money line all 3 games for the Eagles).  Appreciate the offer but my loyalties will always be with the Steelers.  I can't and won't ever change that.  However, I do love this Eagles team (from the players to the coaches) and I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't envious of your future.  Just don't turn into the Patriots or the whole world will hate you guys        ;)

Don't they already all hate us?  We all we got, we all we need!

Oh man, I hope you do that Wednesday night or extremely early Thursday morning. There’s going to be at least 3 million people crammed into center city!!

Right now my plan is to drive down and park on Race and take the subway into City Hall.  I think I'll head down at like 7 and hope I'm ahead of the crowd.

Im thinking I'll drive down to the stadium complex at the crack of dawn, park in one of the lots and catch a few Zs until it starts. Then I can get out of the city earlier, ahead of the mass exodus later. Go home and watch the Art Museum speeches on tv.

I'm pretty sure I heard or read that the Eagles will NOT be opening up any of their lots for parking

Hard to imagine a scenario where Burton is back next season. I love the way he fits in our offense, but he's going to be one of the top 3 free agent TEs available. He'll get a fat offer from someone. Our #1 free agent priority should be Bradham.

Not sure of it’s authenticity and not real thrilled that it could be out there for all to see, but it looks legit. Supposedly this is Doug’s playsheet from the Super Bowl. Zoom in to middle bottom, “take a shot” is noted under reminders and Philly Special is in the column right next to it.

Don't know if this is frowned upon, but you can download the full playoffs games off torrent sites like pirate bay.  I may or may not already have all 3 games.  I also ordered the Super Bowl blu-ray, so I'm not a complete thief.
