*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (2 Viewers)

Wasn't rumors had it he turned down a trade offer this year because he wanted to stay here?
Yes:
"First I heard of it was when someone texted me asking if it was true,'' Foles told the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane. "Trade scenario never got to me, if true.''

Not too upset about that loss. Tampa Bay looks legit, Eagles playing without too many weapons on offense....and STILL looked effective (at times) offensively. Foles certainly ended with a solid stat line, but that was at least a little bit inflated by a softer Tampa defense in the fourth quarter. Anyone who was confident going in might have been a bit delusional. Anyone still confident after Ajayi, Peters, and Wallace all got hurt was more then simply delusional. I was impressed the Eagles were even back in the game after all of that.

That said, why does the defense flop now and then like it did yesterday?

probably best place for him but NE seems like they are in desperation mode. Outside of Chris Hogan who is a #3 at best at WR and Gronk they have very little receiving options outside of their RBs. Plus we all know how business like NE is so if Gordon can't hack it there he's done
Actually in a couple weeks they're going to be potentially loaded.  They'll have Gordon, Edelman and Gronk with a very good receiving RB and Hogan as a 4th or 5th option.

I would rather they just have Alshon back. Any word on his status?
Week to week but will practice this week.  I'd assume another week or two, could see him back for the Minny game for sure and MAYBE the Titans game.

Have a weird feeling we're gonna sign Dez.

They also signed Corey Coleman if he can get his act together. However Edelman hasn't been able to stay healthy. Plus they are taking a risk with Coleman and Gordon. However if it works out yes they are loaded

Man.  So what healthy WR's do we have dressing this week again?

GO GET BROWN!
Antonio Brown isn't getting traded.

This leaves three healthy wideouts on the roster.  You'd have to think Jeffery is going to be activated in the very least.

also, no way in hell Dez Bryant is going to be an Eagle.

i would be very surprised if Alshon is playing this week.  And even more surprised if we only dress 3-4 wrs.

i'd at least give dez a look.  given the current stable of wr's he would definitely be an upgrade.   i think the eagles have leaders in the locker room where he wouldn't be an issue.  he needs to rehab his value for a contract next offseason and with two games vs the cowboys on the schedule you would think he would be motivated.  i think it makes sense on a lot of different levels.   probably won't happen though

May be leadership would work but the guy is just a #### and isn't the same player he once was.

Carter waived and Adams added to the 53
Adams will definitely help over Smallwood, but surprised they waived Carter. Would make you think there is intentions to bring another WR in because I can't envision Alshon is healthy enough to play. My guess is we will see more 12-man this week with Perkins and hopefully Goedart, but we still need some WR depth

Dez Bryant was a locker room cancer when he was good. Why would we want him now that he's not?  I'd much rather they give Corey Coleman look.

Ah crap...some one on Twitter just said they saw Jordan Matthews walking out of Novacare :bag:

Hopefully that is just a troll job.

No disrespect to JMatt as he is a wonderful person, but the guy isn't all that great at catching a football.
If all our slot receivers were hurt, it'd be fine.  he can't play on the outside (despite his frame, you'd think he could), and we already saw what JMatt inside and Agholar outside looked like.

Ya JMatt was there.  Crazy.  At first I was like "HELL NO".  But the more I think about it, who else do we really have?  We need to sign another body by Sunday.

Disagree with the bolded. He was good with Romo. Dax isn't a great QB connection for Dez who needs a QB who's going to take some chances and throw it deep for him. Prescott plays safe. I think he could have a career year with Wentz.

So BGN reported today we had Zero interest in Josh Gordon which I suspected. John Clark on Facebook said the team is working out WRs that know the system already.

Maclin apparently has a workout for the team. Sounds like they are trying to bring in guys who know the system for an immediate fix.
Complete ignorance here but how similar is Andy Reid's system to Doug Pederson's?  Are they so similar where it would make sense to target guys who played for Reid?

ETA - I understand that Maclin played for Reid when Pederson was the coordinator but I assumed that was mostly Reid's system and Pederson has implemented his own system in Philly.

Aside from the heavy usage of a pass catching rb, I see no similarities in their systems.

The system is definitely different but the terminology is most likely the same.  Makes it a little easier to come right in.

I would think it's from a terminology standpoint. Easier to bring in someone even if they aren't as good as some others who know your system already terminology wise. I remember some of the guys still here from Reid when Doug took over talked about the differences and similarities and a lot said the terminology is the same.

Eh....Mathews is the Bob Backlund of WRs. I’m not nuts about this at all. He’s slow, not the best hands and often injured as of late. I imagine Agholar is gonna go outside now?
He probably won't play much.  4th healthy WR, so I'd guess a handful of snaps?  Unless someone else gets hurt I doubt it impacts the gameplan much

Yup, I was just talking about this with a co-worker.  If we have no receivers then where the hell is our 2nd round TE who's supposed to be this big RZ threat?  And who the hell is #83 that was out-playing him?

I think he talked about that - basically when Wallace went down, they moved the #3 TE up to the WR depth chart rather then move the #2 TE up, and also move the #3 TE to #2 TE)  Dunno, seem dumb to not get your better player on the field, but OTOH I don't think it would have changed the outcome any.  Wonder if he's struggling in practice with formations/plays, so they only bring him in on a limited set?

It must be

  He's not ready
