We are still the champs so stress level is much lower, and I do like that we traded down, but am surprised that someone out there wasnt willing to give us more.  Baltimore must be thrilled with how little they gave up.

I''d like it better if we're not giving up the fourth AND getting their fourth. 

 
I get where you guys are coming from but I think this was a solid move.  Still a lot of RB, Secondary, OL value in the 2nd round and they'll get an extra pick next year.

One thing you have to remember is that after 2019 a lot of contracts are up on some pretty key vets.  Plus the Brinks truck is starting to back up to dump the humongous pile of money Carson Wentz is going to get.  We'll probably have to rely on some rookie talent to keep us in the post season conversation for awhile.

This is how I feel as well. I have no problem with moving down 20 spots but doing so in 1 move and only netting a future 2nd seems like below value, especially when the target is a QB. Didn't Houston do something similar to get Watson last year and had to give up a future 1st?

yes but that was pick number 12 not 32.  and we did move up in the fourth 12 spots.  just saying

 
I'm glad we won the super bowl. All of this is stuff I'd be fretting over last year. I don't give a f about any of it this year. So nice.

 
I think it comes down to they valued the 2nd rounder next year very highly.  2nd round picks are important, we didn't have one this year - if a team had offered us 2 2nd round picks this year, we'd all be saying it was a great deal.  Howie just looks long term and doesn't discount the fact that the 2nd is next year.

And it's the best deal he could get.  We had to trade that pick.

2 2nd rounders this year certainly would be better than 1 2nd rounder next year, yes.  We only got 1 for the drop down.

We got 2 2nd round picks for our 1st rounder.  I'm saying if they were BOTH this year, instead of one next year and one this year, we'd be happy.  the Eagles are saying it doesn't matter that one is next year - and with a good core, stocking up for the future is not a bad move.

Sometimes you have to take what you can get.  What we got was better than making the 32 pick.  Without knowing the future of course

If there is one thing I don't like about it is we traded far enough back that we are going to be on the ### end of a RB run I think.  Maybe not though.

The most obvious step to do would be to trade Mycal Kendricks to possibly move high up in the 2nd.

I see a ton of good players that will be there in 20 picks.  

 
good deal for the Eagles really .... no sense over drafting a player they like when you can pick up additional picks.... the 2019 2nd Rd pick could be in the 30's looking at the Ravens woes.

Really?  THey finished 9-7 last year... you think they got significantly worse this offseason?  How?

Lots of RB needy teams too.  Could see Cleve, Den, Indy all go RB and eat that tier up within the first few picks of the 2nd round.  (Denver needs to draft Chubb, that would be awesome)

 
I can't really judge the trade down until we see what the Eagles do in the second. We could very well trade back up in the 2nd to get the player the Eagles would have taken at the end of the 1st without the initial trade.

If Jackson is there at 52 I hope that is the pick.

Think Guice and Jones will be gone but if one of them is there @ 52 sprint to the damn podium.

This right here. Honestly, I believe a fair number of NFL GMs would have held onto that pick out of spite rather than accept a merely good offer when they were hoping for a great one.

It's possible we could get back up into the early 2nd at the cost of a 4th to grab someone we'd have taken at 32 anyway, in which case Howie would have effectively landed a free trade of a 4th this year for a 2nd next. Hard to complain about that.

wouldn't have minded a Hernandez pick.  It's possible they aren't enamored with this draft and preferred an extra pick next year, too - or just thought getting younger and getting that players and his cheap contract from 2019+ when we're going to be paying Wentz $$ was preferable.

My buddy who is kind of arrogant and acts like some draft expert asked me if I'd trade a whole bunch of picks for Barkley. I told him no for the exact reason here. I'm also of the opinion with @babydemon90 that RB in the 1st isn't great value. I was harping on getting Wentz 2 yrs ago when it seemed many wanted Elliot for this very opinion. Hindsight is 20/20 and people will argue but maybe we get Prescott as well. I'm not a huge fan at all of Dax and quite frankly I loved Wentz and his upside over anything Dax could provide. I'll take the franchise QB who can play possible 12 plus yrs and possible win multiple SBs over an RB who maybe has 6 yrs of great football and by 30 is on the verge of going down hill. The Eagles overall need to get younger and cheaper. We are at a great point right now where our franchise QB is in his rookie year so we can spend money else where but in the next year or so is gonna become pricey with that soon to be extension.

The opinion from the beat guys and fans is due to Ajayi's knee problems he's probably not being resigned unless Howie works his magic and gets him on an incredible team friendly deal. Clement would become our only RB and you need 2 RBs in todays league. I like Clement and think he could be a lead back in this league however the team could use another bruiser type back like Blount or a HR hitter that can get the ball and score anywhere on the field.

I was thinking Johnson but surprisingly for as much SEC I watch I know very little about him over the other guys. I think its more of what my schedule at work was like and what games were on at the time I was able to watch. At work I only saw bits and pieces of games not enough to make.a great opinion on anything though

I wasn't even as mad at the Flyers losing. Probably more upset how the refs made their mark on the series when they had no need to since the Pens were the better team. Their impact in game 5 was the difference Two missed Penalties led to two Penguin goals in the 3rd of the last game. Even that didn't upset me as much as I use too.

My cousin in Sea said the Seattle fans are going ape#### about possible losing Earl Thomas this week. This tweet likely ain't helping

i wonder if Michel was the guy they really wanted, so Howie didn't try that hard to trade the pick, but knew he had something adequate in his back pocket in case Michel went?

I just don't see the value of carrying 3 startable backs when only one can play.  Address the issue next year and add a player who can help this year.

Having 3 backs worked incredible well for this team this past year. Blount, Ajayia and Clement last year. Kept all 3 fresh. plus next years class isn't as deep

I think it was Les Bowen during FA but I think he said teams are waiting and seeing on Sproles status. Probably nothing will be done by mid to end of May maybe June on Sproles. It depends what the Eagles do in Draft and UDFA 

 
Also need to remember there is still Pumph and Sproles coming back from injury.  RB, while it may be a need next year isn't exactly a humongous need this year.

Seems like next year, when you have all your picks plus an extra 2nd,would be the ideal time to deal with that. Not this year when you only have 1 pick in the first 3 rounds. 

And if they want a 3-headed rotation in the interrum there are a whole bunch of solid vets still out there that could be had relatively cheaply.
