*Official 2019 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* - Season's over; Go Away Now... (1 Viewer)

is Wentz awful, he seems awful?
no, but.  He's not good enough to elevate his team, and with the surrounding talent just collapsing around him, he's collapsed as well.

Coaching is horrible. No one is progressing and improving.  Every young player (outside of Sanders and maybe Dillard) just shows no promise, no improvement.  We point to Metcalf and Slayton - they would suck and be catchless here. Sidney Jones might be a legit starter elsewhere.  These guy have no fundamentals and no development and no technique - thats on this coaching staff.  They ALL need to go.

With Miles Sanders in the locker room, a reminder of who the Eagles have at the skill positions...

RB: Boston Scott, Jay Ajayi
WR: Greg Ward, JJ Arcega-Whiteside
TE: Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Josh Perkins

...Only Ertz, Goedert and Arcega-Whiteside were on Wk1 roster.

It's ironic, but I wonder how much that Super Bowl win had us keep players and coaches around far longer then they should have.  In hindsight - I'll still take it of course, we haven't had one ever.  So yea - worth it. But we doubled and tripled down on people that clearly were playing and coaching above their pay grade.

Ya I can see this.  In terms of Doug though, if we somehow win the div, can we fire a coach that brought us to the playoffs in each of the last 3 years??

Not a chance.  But it's a little disturbing that the team has gotten worse each year under his reign.

If we win the division, no (although other coaches need to go). But man, I dunno.  Kinda feels like 2017 was just a freak anomaly.

has the gov not been on postgame live this year?  I have barely watched it, but now I'm thinking that he hasn't.  or maybe before?

comcast is going to kill ray didindger.

Can someone get it through to Doug and Groh and everyone to get Carson out of the ####### pocket more and run no huddle?!!? FFS

Great comeback but the WR situation is comically bad if JJAW is out along with Alshon.

I think it’s everything. You had the brain drain when everyone comes and takes your coaches and scouts because you won. As bad as our offense looks, out personnel decisions are terrible.

Then, we overpay players like Graham because of their performance. Don’t get me wrong, they probably paid him market rate but it was inflated due to the playoff run. You lost the glue guys like Robinson.

And they haven’t done a good job of drafting or finding talent. Give Howie credit, he found an inefficiency in the market, signing vets for cheap. But this year shows you why. Can’t rely on those guys.

Wentz showed he can be an Elite QB with that 2nd half. That's how all the greats bounce back. But you know the idiots will still yell and scream how he's overrated and such.
It shouldn't have even gone to OT.  He had a lot of drops (including the one by Ward that would have been a TD).

Although with all this talk about our players - wasn't Joe Douglas supposed to be the 'football guy' behind our moves? Howie the financials and Douglas (who went to the Jets) the football guy.  Yea there were some financials mistakes - but wtf did Joe Douglas do here?

Doesn't seem like he really did much

pretty funny reading the last page and a half of this thread. the emotional reactions are all over the place.

Still don't have much faith in this team, that 1st half was about as ugly as could be for a team. Don't know if that is to blame for the head coach not able to motivate these guys or what, but i am not overly confident that 1st half team has gone away.
