Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

Why is that funny? I mean if I’m the event of a penalty, an opposing player is ruled out, it should disqualify the offender of the penalty. He’d still be in now until Texas had to rule Ewers out though.

Because it shouldn't have been a penalty. Not even close to targeting. Fell with the Ewers because he jumped as he threw the ball.

I didn’t say it was targeting though. I’m suggesting if a player is injured as the result of a penalty that they should consider a harsher penalty.

Think along the lines of a DB horse-collar tackling a WR on a deep pass and knocking him out for the game. Toss the DB for the game in that situation too.

You can't do that unless you have a new NCAA medical status official/referee that can make that call.

I don't think it's a very good idea regardless, but you'd have to really codify the terms of an expulsion.

If there is malicious intent, ok. Otherwise, no.

Bama was in danger of losing this game before Ewers was knocked out with the dirty Bama hit.

Nobody outside of the state of Alabama is rooting for the Crimson Tide now.

Bryce Young better have his head on a swivel.

Card has no chance to help Texas win this. It’s beyond over if Ewers is out. He’s just not good and everyone knows it’s Bijan all day. Bama stacks the box and there’s nothing Texas can do about it

Leinart confirms at halftime that hit on Ewers should have been a penalty.

Bama gets away with murder that first half and the game is still tied.

Kicking a FG at home, as a 21 point dog, with a backup QB, against a team that will likely score 30 points, is an all-time wuss decision.

Bama secondary and WRs are in a slump. Young has hit all of his passes except 1. Secondary isn't in the same category as Texas fast WRs. Texas backup QB will continue to have success.

A few minutes ago the analyst actually said, presumably with a straight face, that Alabama is not used to playing this early in the day. As if that excuses their terrible play that included nine penalties in the first half.

Gus Johnson is funny because the ball can be laying there next to the receiver and he’ll be like “first down” and then 20 seconds later when the punt team comes out he’ll say “they’re calling it incomplete.” Pretty sure he doesn’t have 20/20 vision.

Usually a cupcake timeslot. Big games are primetime.

And?
Just a little info on how Bama games usually tend to get scheduled.
Yes, I have a TV. I didn’t really need any information. But, thanks.
