Official 2022 college football thread: its conference realignment season. (1 Viewer)

It’s 16 five stars to TCU’s 1 for the record
thanks. it's worth adding UGA has in addition to thos 16 five starts, another 53 four star recruits. I mean it's not a perfect system, but at least 80% of those kids live up to their hype. The depth of UGA, ALA, and OSU is simply overwhelming. It's not a fair fight for talent level outside those 3, except for maybe USC and LSU.

Legendary season for TCU and I get why they made it. And they beat Michigan....so you can't say they didn't deserve it.

But losing to KSU (who then got curb stomped by bama) was the canary in the coal mine here.

Yea TCU caught a lot of breaks with Michigan not converting inside the 5 multiple times and then a pick-6. Georgia is going to absolutely hammer them most likely.
Just like Michigan was way better than TCU and tOSU was meh after Michigan killed them. We shoudl have just had Michigan Georgia and no playoff anyway they were so clearly the best!

Horrible take.

lol
TCU's talent level is significantly closer to Michigan's than it is UGA. That shouldn't be in question. Michigan beat themselves in that game unfortunately.

Michigan might have been able to keep it within a couple TDs, but they weren't going to win this game either

How did this team beat Michigan?

Michigan had the ball inside the 5 yard line 3 times and only got 3 points, plus 2 picks 6s. Right there is 26 points basically given away. Plus had a TD overturned.

Then TCU scored 2 TDs on plays where Duggan was almost sacked and threw it up on a crossing route and it hit.

Fumbled on the 1/2 yard line on first and goal, plus gave up a long punt return. Just one of those games.

Had they played their normal game they blow out TCU, but they didn`t.

Without a doubt Michigan would have been a much better matchup, still think UG wins but it would have been a better game.

I'm not like super woke or anything but should we really be using the phrase "had their way with" on TV in 2023? Just asking.

So if this was next year TCU would have lost by 80 to Georgia in Athens the first week? Where would they have wound up realistically?

Sadly, the dream comes crashing down with an embarrassing showing tonight. Totally outclassed in every facet of the game tonight from player talent on the field to coaching and game planning. I know TCU likes that 3-3 defensive look, but no way that philosophy has a chance against a team like this. I didn't expect to win, but I sure was hoping it would be respectable.

Georgia in non conference next year plays UAB, Ut-Martin, Ball State and Georgia Tech. Lol

to be fair, a lot of those games are meant to help the lesser schools get a check to fund their athletics department. Often the HC knows the HC at those other places (or AD does) and is doing them a favor. Would it matter if they were playing Iowa St or Arizona? It would be the same result.

Up 45-7 and Georgia is still running reverses and chucking the ball downfield. If you are going to run this stuff, at least put a few back ups in and give them a little share of the fun. What are they trying to prove?

They were scheduled to play Oklahoma up until a few months ago but it got canceled as part of the OU to SEC deal and at that point there was no one left to replace them except an FCS team.

They opened against Oregon this year and Clemson last year. Was supposed to be Oklahoma next year.

Michigan plays UNLV, Bowling Green, and East Carolina OOC next year.

I quit watching before halftime. Conjuring up the traumatic memories from Oregon's game against Georgia in early Sept. No need to relive that. Damn.

UGA mostly has all freshmen and sophomores playing 🤣. With 10 mins left in a national title game. And tcu still can’t get a hand on them.
