I have to say, as a long time fan, there is no more difficult time than when the coach has clearly signaled "time to close up shop" for the last 15-20 minutes and then you have to sit and just pray the defense holds.

Zimmerman had one of the most impactful sub appearances for a central defender I can ever remember. Just titanic.

The Dutch have a lot of skill and some speed but not so much that we can’t compete. We will be the underdog but there’s nothing there to be scared of. They aren’t as good as England who we just played better than.

The Moore ahead of Yedlin choices has been so strange. I don't know what Yedlin has done to lose GGG trust.

Jesus. I had a work meeting start at halftime. It was a 6-min walk from my office. Meeting only needed to be 5-10 min.

I sprinted back and walked in front of the TV at the 81-minute mark. My heartbeat is still probably at around 130. From watching the game, not from the sprint.

It’s obvious he has an issue with Gio. There’s no other explanation, IMO. But I’m happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. We’ve made the round of 16 and could have gone 3 matches without conceding without the brain fart.

Honestly* it's hard to argue with anything our coach has done. He's legit put us in position to succeed in every game and we appeared to the better team in each match.

He’s arguably our most skilled player and has played what, 10 minutes? I get that he doesn’t see him as a replacement for any of MMA but to get so little time is baffling to me. But I’m not complaining - I’m one of GGG’s biggest fans in here. I just think Gio is special - wish he could find a way to get him minutes.

Honestly* it's hard to argue with anything our coach has done. He's legit put us in position to succeed in every game and we appeared to the better team in each match.

I'm a big soccer nerd and avowed GGG hater. That said, he's gotten the tactics right for initial setup of each game. I think he's not done well on the subs (at least the timing was better today), but I cannot argue with the prep that he's done for these young kids. Also, swallowing his pride and making Ream the focal point of the defense was immense here.
