***Official - 2024 Major League Baseball Thread - Tigers/Guardians at 12:08 Tomorrow Because MLB is Scared To Show Game Against Ohio State?*** (13 Viewers)

Experienced Houston team with a ton of sluggers taking on an upstart Tigers team with the likely Cy Young winner on the bump. Gotta think this one will be played pretty tight and with two aces on the mound, I kind of like the Under 6.5, even though that's a really low total.

Does tbs not do baseball anymore? I always enjoyed their baseball coverage. I see all of todays games are on one of the espns.

I love how MLB basically screws 4 fan bases by putting their games on in the afternoon so kids in school and people at work can't watch them.

When are they going to realize baseball is now a regional sport. Put the games on and stagger them (all times central):

4:30
5:30
6:30
7:30

Base the start times the best you can on location of teams involved. Do it like the NCAA tourney where you can watch them all at once or flip back and forth based on the game flow. The endings of playoff baseball games are the best part! Show them like this and it would just be wild watching all this going. You would create way more buzz for MLB.

Meanwhile, let's once again alienate an entire generation of potential baseball fans. Between this and Bally Sports the MLB owners are effing idiots.

Sweated this one out at the end. Phew.

Not sure I’ve been this excited about baseball in a long time. When Tatis crushed that HR my entire neighborhood heard me scream.

This should probably go in the pet peeve thread but.....

Going to Phils game Sunday. Wife had plans in the morning, I say plan is to meet my dad around 2 to go over to the game. (Game is at 4pm).

Her: why so early?
me: huh? You've been to a play off game before. By the time we drive over, park, get in the stadium it will be close to 3.
Her: Really? I don't recall it being that crowded last time.
me: Because we left our house 2.5 hours ahead of time to get there 1 hour ahead of time. (I live about 20-30 minutes with no traffic)
her: that just seems early, I'll see if I can make it work

THE RAGE I FEEL RIGHT NOW@#$!@#$@#$

She has been to games before but she is THE WORST at arriving at proper times GRRRRRRRRR

First round playoff games have always been like this. It was like this when I was a kid (and that is a long time ago). Doesn't make it right but it's not like they used to do it right and then changed it.

Although I am surprised that they haven't changed due to money.

Just got to Minute Maid Park. Got tickets in the lower level just beyond 3B for $65. Astros fans are too complacent.

Go Tigers! #blessyouboys

That's a bargain! So awesome, enjoy the game. My MIL/FIL borrowed our car today to meet some of their oldest friends from Michigan who now live here for the game at a really cool sports bar and I'm super jealous.

Today is the day the O's break their playoff L streak, 8-3 gOOd guys...book it!
Agree. Seth Lugo has not been as sharp coming down the stretch.
Your Royals are the new Tampa it appears, Chief, small market that finds a way then tears down and rebuilds another championship level roster a few years later. More than one way to skin a cat. I'm pulling for a game tomorrow but good luck to the Royals no matter what.

Thanks.

The good part of this Royals resurgence is they are doing it with a new GM. He was on the staff as the previous one but has completely revamped how they do things and how they look at things. They have invested a lot of money behind the scenes in scouting and technology and such. Should be an interesting 5-6 year span here. And ownership (who is new) has also committed tons of dollars to the payroll as well.

Locking up Bobby for 11 years was an excellent investment.

That's wild. When SF was in the playoffs a few years ago it was at least double that for a standing room only ticket.

Heading over to the ballpark later to watch my team get put down. I don't know why we Brewers fans do this to ourselves. It's so predictable...

that strike zone was fat af last night at petco. there were like 95% bets on that over and it not only never budged it was seeing ALL the juice on the under. lightning doesn't strike twice but it looks like the same situation all over again tonight. but this time at 6.5! what! oh boy here we go.

Pads u6.5
O’s -1.5

Welcome to Big League ball, Jackson Jobe. :bag: First pitch a HBP, and ends up responsible for two runs in the 7th. Tigers go down 2-1. But they get one back in the top of the 8th on a WP, and then Ibanez clears the bases with a pinch-hit double down the line for a 5-2 Tigers lead. Yes! Now they gotta hold on.

Kinda rooting for the Orioles and the Brewers this year as it's been a while since they've been to the top. Hope I'm not gooching them.

I just looked at tickets for Royals/Orioles. You can get in upper deck for $14.

Sounds like you need to pony up some cash and head to the ballpark
100$ for nose bleeds at Petco for tomorrow’s game (if there is one).
Not to look at me but I'm very blessed to get tickets face value or free because of connections. Don't think I'd go to another game if I didn't have that

ESPN is trying to promote the Brewers/Mets game by showing "11 Adames SS" under him playing. Who needs to tell them he wears #27?

For sure. The ones I’m referencing are at face value, I too am getting a hook up

Nice. I usually get pretty good seats so that's a bonus
