The Brewers come back from 8-1 deficit to win their 13th straight. Its uncanny now. The first round playoff exit is going to sting way more than usual this fall. I thought the upcoming 5 game series at Wrigley would decide the season, but it may not even matter.

I appreciate the attempt at the reverse juju. We definitely need to pull out all the stops...

I liked it for what it was. It was a song about a ball player. He’s probably not going to write “Mrs. Robinson” but it’s still a cute, well-done song. Why the thinking?

This is just an absolutely terrible song, but I figured you Ms fans would enjoy it.

Death Cab and Postal?
Ben Gibbard opened solo for Death Cab and Postal Service last year. Strange that he and Death Cab were awful, but Postal Service was great.

What a massive ego to open for yourself.

I wonder how they split the gate?

Craig Counsell is saying that he is going to sit Kyle Tucker for a few games. The times have seriously changed. It wasn't that long ago where he was being compared to Larry Walker and was predicted to get a 500 million dollar contract.

The dude seems to be genuinely trying, but something is just not clicking.

Roberts needs to step up and make some decisions based on performance and not hoping that players will come around.
Good luck with that
Go Padres!

That was an absolute embarrassment. We lost that series far more then the won it. Simply folded like a lawn chair. Bad managing, bad defense, bad hitting, bad starting pitching. Super frustrating b
I went to Sat nights game and it was a big letdown. Cease just couldn't throw a strike, they ran themselves out of the first and second, and Merrill drops the ball.

It was my first game at Dodger stadium which was sort of a bucket list thing to do with my son while he still wants to be around me. Beautiful location, fun vibe especially pre-game, traffic getting out was atrocious. Basically everything everyone says about the experience. I also know I won't be going back with drive home from Petco being shorter than how long I stayed in the parking lot after the game. I was little surprised Petco tickets are more expensive than the Dodger ones I got for similar locations. It made me realize how great the Petco experience is. Relatively easy in and out. Great stuff to do within walking distance of the stadium both before and after the game. It was cool trying to explain to my son why the concourse was so tiny.

I went to a Dodger game when I was out in CA on business. I got a ticket on the secondary market in right field for $7 including fees. I Ubered out and back (each way was slightly more expensive than the ticket).

Leaving the stadium was a breeze. The ride sharing companies had (have?) a zone in the parking lot that's well marked and very easy to find your driver/car. I was back at my hotel in around 10 minutes.

(Similarly, on another trip, I hit an LA Kings game. Tickets were dirt cheap compared to other arenas I've been in, even though the arena was packed. Are the Lakers the only expensive tickets there?)

Was the Dodger game sold out? The cheapest ticket Sat was over $100. Lakers are definitely expensive. Kings I find are hit and miss in terms of price based on the size of the fanbase they are playing and the day of the week. There are lots of fan (or were) that use coming to LA (or Anaheim) as a good excuse to get out of the cold for a week in the winter; Utah on a Tuesday and its dirt cheap. I have no idea on the NFL prices (my son always has a hockey games on Sundays so haven't gone), but from everything I've heard the top bowl is cheap while everything else is corporate.

Hitting my 2nd Mariners' game of the season on Sat. Talk about a GREAT fan experience, Seattle has a terrific setup. Options to bus in, take the light rail or walk from downtown, all nice ways to avoid the agony and frustration of post-game traffic. Beer selection is off the charts good, I think they were the first MLB park to offer sushi and the views of the city skyline, the Sound, all magnificent.

I'm sold.

Moving this to the top (#2 spot) of my ballbarks to be visited.

Just visited San Francisco and caught a couple games this weekend. I could easily adopt that park as my home park. The Giants got beat by a really weak-hitting Tampa Bay. Both teams are thin and stink. They're going absolutely nowhere. Devers had a golden sombrero on Friday night. Justin (1-9) Verlander turned back the clock Saturday and dominated the Rays for seven strong but the bullpen blew it.

It was a beautiful park, even if it was freezing-*** San Francisco.

I took my four sons and my eldest son's BF to a game in early July. 78 degrees at first pitch, no humidity and it was Bark at the Park night, so lots of good doggos soaking in the ballgame too. Ages of the boys ranged from 10 to 22 and they ALL had a blast. My oldest and his BF know next to nothing about baseball (seriously, we were in RF a few rows up, and my son's BF though the three guys in the OF were 'Catchers' because they were catching all the balls) but just enjoyed the vibe, the sights and sounds, the food and drink. Top notch all the way around.

I think I paid $35 per ticket with fees. Considering a Blazers' game in comparable seats would be $100+ for a crappy team in a stuffy indoor arena that's outdated, $35 to sit outside super close to the OF is a bargain. IMO.

I was trying to get up there two weeks ago to catch the White Sox (they got swept - lol) for the Thursday day game. Work got in the way and had to cancel at the last minute, but I really want to get up there again.

Maybe we can see if there is a good series in town right before the end of the season. No more tournaments for me after this weekend.

LA Kings ticket pricing is directly proportional to how good the team is. During the Cup run years tickets were real expensive. As soon as those ended prices dropped significantly. In LA it's a status thing to go to a good team when they are winning especially for hockey. Then they price out the real fans that go through the bad times. It's unfortunate.

This is especially true for the Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver fans. They can come to LA got to a game or two and it's barely more than the ticket prices just for the game back home. When I had season seats we would get some of the Canadian team fans in our area some times. I asked them about this and that was what they said and why a lot Canadians do this.

it was Bark at the Park night,
I would purposely avoid this if I was buying tickets. Seems like a terrible idea having dogs in stadium seats that are already tight to begin with. Unless there are banks of grass around the stadium to set up lawn chairs and blankets this just seems like a terrible idea.

They contained them to one section up in the 300 levels and on the concourse around there, they had pools set up for dogs, areas for them to roam, etc. It wasn't a packed stadium either on a Tues night in July vs KC. I think the marketing team knows what they're doing. There are 23 teams in MLB that have a variation of this.

I wouldn't bring my dog (even though he's the best dog who has ever been a dog) but my youngest sons loved petting all the well behaved dogs before the game. I don't know, I thought it was cool.

@Eephus

The Cubs are in the midst of their final West Coast trip of the season--9 games vs. LAA/SF/COL. I had thought that San Francisco was going to be the soft part of the swing.

That was a poor thought. I know the Giants have struggled since June but over these past three days they were a fantastic ballclub. Good, clutch hitting. Solid pitching, and absolutely excellent defense. They turned multiple double-plays in the series, and caught stealing several of the Cubs best baserunners.

The Giants gave the Cubs a good smackdown.

Tough two days for the Red Sox. I'd actually been dreading this series and the Orioles series, and this one looks like it bit us right in the butt.

They scored 2 yesterday and 3 today. That's usually sufficient to beat the Pirates.

Other than their mustachioed rookie yesterday, pitching no bueno.

@ChiefD !! Second place in the AL Central!!
We are still alive for a wild card at least!
Are you a Brewers fan yet??
I’ll root for them in the playoffs.

The part that sucks is I subscribe to mlbtv to get the royals. But I’m blacked out up here for the brewers. Would love to watch them more but I’m not spending the dough to do it.
Especially when every bar in northern WI shows the games :)

The funny part is the two bars that are literally 1 mile from my house hardly ever shows sports. And people rarely ask. Of course I do now that we know them but they never show anything.

It’s downright weird.

I live an hour north of Santa Barbara. Hundreds of miles from either LA or SF. But for some reason I am blacked out for Angels, Dodgers, Giants, and A's. I just don't get it. In all the years past I was blacked out for Angels and Dodgers but never the northern guys (they are further from me by a little bit). But about half way through this year all of a sudden I am blacked out on A's and Giants. Strangest part is that if I watch on my phone the No-Cal teams aren't blacked out. But on my TV they are. Same app, same wifi, same location. I just don't understand. So frustrating.

It’s so stupid. I’m blacked out for the Phils, Pirates, Yankees, Mets and I believe Orioles. The closest of those stadiums to my house is a good 3 hour drive
