I did well in our last 6 big 200+ entry pools…not this week. Hoping winners with Scottie / Bryson bails me out…or long shot Hovland. Tough tourney!

Less than half of our entries this week had the required 4 of 6 make the cut. A handful had 5 of their 6 cut.

Well I’m glad they released this information after I made my bets  This explains Rory’s inaccuracy off the tee

with the news of Rory’s non conforming driver his Masters win and all the others this year are now a little tainted until they release what the non conforming specs are

Meh same thing happened to Xander and many other golfers. Nothing nefarious imo

This tends to happen after lots of use. Similar to softball/baseball bats. They get super "hot" near end of life. Bats usually crack eventually

I don't know for sure but that was my guess

The fact it was not kept confidential is also an issue. Xander had the same complaint

*I reserve the right to change my mind ;)

I agree, I just wouldn’t have put money on him had I known Wednesday :lmao: :bag:

Who is the redneck with the nasal voice that chirps in with stupid one-liners? It's like I'm at a bar with no other open seats and the guy next to me thinks he's broadcasting a Nascar race.

Is it PeeWee Herman?

The biggest difference between Scottie and Rory (and everyone else) is that Scottie avoids big mistakes better than anyone. Someone will have to go low to beat him.

The worst part of this tournament is Pavons polo. A Walmart blank w screen print. I thought Frenchman had style.

Is this not aging well? Just watching the scores and saw Scottie was +2 and then +1.
3 bogeys (and 2 birdies)…no big mistakes there. But there are still holes here on the back that can create blowups.

Great to see Rahm getting his major game back in shape…he belongs w Scottie, Rory, Bryson, and Xander.

I’m 99% sure Scottie won’t do what Rahm just did…

Scheffler took a strange path to go from leading by 3 at the start of the round to up 5 with 3 to play. It's incredible how he always stays calm.

In Rahms defense. He knew he probably needs to be aggressive

‘I’ve got something up my sleeve…some equipment coming’ - Bryson on prep to defend the US Open.

God Wyndam Clark is such an unlikable little baby. One fluky US open set him up for life but man he is a clown. Apparently came within 5 feet of hitting a volunteer with that driver throw

I know he's allegedly changed his image and is popular on the line . .... But I still loathe him 😂
He was so unlikable. Then became likable. Then going the other way. Blaming everything on the wind. Dude.
Just feels phony to me ....
I don't think it's phony. I think he's a really weird dude.

Scheffler has missed 5 of 9 tee shots left plus 3 second shots. Somehow he is only 1 over for the day.

His driver was non-conforming and ruled unplayable so maybe it was the new one he played with instead. From an ESPN article:

"He tied for 43rd in driving accuracy among the 74 players who made the cut Sunday, hitting 7 of 14 fairways. In the first round, he hit only 4 of 14 fairways."

What I don't get was why Rory's driver news came out earlier in the week. The first I heard of Scheffler's was after he won. Did they really release the news of each separately? If so, WTF?

Also, why they only test 1/3rd of the field makes no sense. They said that drivers tend to "thin" over time, giving them more spring. Knowing that, all should be tested, period. Especially for Majors. This isn't difficult.

Xander took heat when this happened to him. Rory too, to a lesser degree (I think). I'm assuming there won't be much outcry or hear any fans calling Scheffler a cheater, which happened to Xander. Nothing against Scottie, I like him, but it sure seems like a F'd up way to handle a fairly simple issue.

Sounds like the Rory news was leaked, as the PGA says results are supposed to be confidential. PGA also noted there is never any intent and it’s a very routine process and result. Scottie agreed it should be more thorough.
