***Official 2025 Tour de France*** - Come Dope with Us! This Year Prizes!!! (5 Viewers)

Wow, break is sweep up before the halfway point. Alliphippe dropped like a fat guy on a Saturday group ride.

popular pre-race pick for Week 1 because of his recent form, but I wasn't buying it

pre-pandemic Alaphilippe was a joy to watch, though, he's had a great career

Dang y'all have some great squads

I was gonna make a list of teams in the league I liked until I realized I liked everyone I had looked at

I'd estimate 11/14 teams are legit contenders to crack 10K

seriously - kind of amazed at how savvy we have collectively become over the last 4 years or so

the three teams BassNBrew barfed up all suck but that's fine somebody has to finish DFL

Damn, what a crazy sprint for the KOM. Not sure who won, but both were skating on the cobbles and one guys wiped out the other.

Cofidis rider took it

Benjamin Thomas? never heard of him

ETA

won a stage from the break in the ‘24 Giro

definitely saw that, too lol

Probably should be relegated for taking the other guy into the barrier well before that.

Matteo Vercher - finished 2nd in that stage Campenearts won in last year’s Tour

the rare breakaway that made it to the finish line

Pogacar 74.1%
MVDP 44.2%
Remco 33.3%
WvA 33.7%
Healy 26.2%
Jonas and Merlier 26.9%
Lipowitz 25.5%
Milan 24.6%
Phillipsen 23.6%

Everyone else under 20%

Dang...Ganna out. Was on my first build. Really liked him. Selected by 18.5% of the field.

I don’t think I put him in bc I’m so down on the team rn - he was for sure landing a top 5 in Stage 5

8 credits is a lot for an unclassed rider, think Grégoire and Nys were the only two I considered

Had Gregoire in all builds until my last when I decided to replace him and Powless with MVP and Rickaert.

My initial thought was that he could win stage 2 and 5 and collect 5 days of GC points but that only added up to 500 pts. Not a great value proposition.

Powless is so good in non-GT

never seems to transfer to the 3-week races

my last change was dropping Buitrago for B.O.C.

the Colombian is a safer pick I think, went for the Aussie bc he often wins a long solo after he screws up his GC chances

been biking in NYC for 26 years and have never been doored

I always presume the guy in front of me is either an idiot or has bad intentions

had my knuckles clipped a few times and been squeezed between a truck & car a bunch but have never gone down

I'm betting Vingegaard fades and Matteo becomes the guy there. I really wanted Wout instead of Mathieu, but I didn't have the points. I decided to get a couple good 6 pointers instead of Wout and a useless 4 pointer. Really like Vauquelin, Storer, and Simmons at 6. Vauquelin has been lighting it up, so had to have him (which means he'll probably drop out on day 1). Otherwise grabbed the second best climber in the race, Mas, the best sprinter, Milan (if he doesn't tear his bike apart), and a couple really good TTers (Matteo is very good here). Powless just because I like the guy and want to cheer for him.

Which all adds up to being likely dead last, as usual. :p

I'd like to throw some shade on day 1 on Peacock. In an effort to not wait 4 hours after it concludes to get the full replay I joined live and rewound, but couldn't get back to the beginning. ********. Just complete jerks with the way they run the app.

Philipsen now 2nd to Pogi in stage wins

Pogacar 17
Jasper 10
WvA 9
Froome 7
Alaphilippe & Groenenwegen 6
Jonas, Kristaff, & Matthew’s 4

Remco 39 seconds down

:lmao:

GLA see ya in Spain
Most of the top 20 GC guys got dropped.

I don’t think dropped is very precise

Remco decided he’d be safe in the back surrounded by his team

When the peloton split they had no counter - pretty simple trap SQS fell into today

Merlier is faster than Philipsen but doesn’t mean anything if you’re out of position

Milan / Lidl-Trek brought the best sprint train & then screwed up the basic blocking & tackling aspect of tactics

Not really…

Grad party today for our youngest, so I was doing party prep all day. Finally sat down and turned on the tour to see the podium.

Funny how teams with split goals weren't able to accomplish either of them. They didn't protect their GC guys, nor did they sprint to try to win a stage.
Being new to following WT bike racing, it seems to me that in the Grand Tours that it very hard to serve 2 masters (GC and Sprinter) and be super successful, unless you're one of the Super Teams like UAE or Jumbo. But that impression could just be more circumstance and me misreading it as a new fan.

I really think the train thing is over rated. Plenty of guys do well by surfing wheels. More times than not these trains hit the front at 3-5k and are out of guys before 1k to go.

Mark Cavendish said if he’s got a lead out and you’re trying to draft him with no teammates, “I’ll win 100% of the time.” The launch is everything. Bini had no one there with him.

Yeah, if you have a dedicated lead out train and they can wait until the end, it does make things easy. Seems to me that the leadout trains come up short much more frequently these days. Maybe it's the product of the tour putting in more classic type stages and the GC guys hogging the front.

He’s the one rider that Patrick from ow do cycling swayed me on…still dreaming of the Wolfpack days.
