***Official AFC Championship Game Thread*** (1 Viewer)

This may already have been discussed in this thread, but does it look to anyone else like the Chargers RG is rocking back on every play before the snap? Why aren't they calling that?
I've noticed that too. Been waiting for the flag all day.

:tinfoilhat:

NFL to the Patriots: Hey, uh...yeah...can you guys play like ### for three quarters for the good of the league? You can turn it up in the 4th and win by 28 but we need you to keep it close for three quarters for us. Thanks.

The wind is at SD's back once again in the 4th quarter. Can't help but think that'll be a factor in this game.

I've noticed the same thing several times. The pats linemen aren't even pointing at him when he moves.

I know injuries are part of the game, but you can't help but wonder how this game would be going if Gates and Tomlinson were both healthy.
And Rivers.
True. And I said over a month ago that to be the best team ever, the Patriots needed to dominate in the postseason. They didn't come close to dominating the Jaguars, and have not come close to dominating the Chargers. Teams like the '85 Bears, '91 Redskins, and '98 Broncos dominated ALL of their postseason opponents. The Patriots have not.

I was thinking the same thing...win or lose this is not the greatest team ever.

hey sd, the hitch is open all day. this will extend drives. pretty simple. & where's the screen play? terrible playcalling imho

Yeah, I've noticed that too.I bet NE isn't complaining though as it's a perfect "tell" for their snap count. He always does it right before the snap.I'm sure if we've noticed it, NE's coaches have too. I just can't believe SD's coaches haven't noticed.

If it's a "tell" though, I must say I haven't seen a lot of D-lineman for NE appearing to be anticipating the snap with an early jump. Strange all around. :tinfoilhat:

Even when they blitz Brady has all day to have a cup of coffee and find the wide open guy.

That offensive line is insane.

Plus, the hitch is easy to throw and gets the ball out of your gimpy QB's hands quickly.
yep.hey i know, run turner up the middle on 1st down!can't believe i'm rooting for the freaking chargers :tinfoilhat:
:wub:I seriously thought about starting a poll in the Shark Pool today asking Raiders fans who they were rooting for.

They've gotten a REALLY good jump (to the point where it almost looked like it was offsides) on several plays, and I think most were 3rd downs.

they aren't calling lining up in the neutral zone or jumping the snap on either team.

Tactical change

posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff January 20, 2008 05:27 PM

One tactical change from the Patriots offense over the last two drives has been the usage of a 3-TE package.

The offense has utilized the 3-TE grouping, with Stephen Spach joining Kyle Brady and Benjamin Watson, in an attempt to establish the run.

The second-half plan has also included a steady diet of 2-TE packages with Brady and Watson.

IBT Pats score again and all the annoying Patriots fans check in.
That's pretty much a lock.
Doesn't make it any less sad though.
Frontrunners are pathetic, not sad.
Can you be a frontrunner if the team is in your local market?
It depends IMHO on whether you've been rooting for them all along, or only when they're winning. We have a lot of new "faces" around here who suddenly are football geniuses because their favoritest team is the Pats. That of course doesn't apply to all Pats fans.
