Two orioles fans I know, who wouldn't bet with me on the series, are now sending me texts proclaiming victory. Lol
Typical Baltimore fan behavior. And if they lose Sunday, they will be swearing at Buck for being a moron and proclaiming doom and gloom.
This is probably the most positive fan base I've ever encountered. Even Ravens fans take #### from Redskins fans in stride.

Plus they are all drunk.

I certainly am. Sunday is going to be Ravens at 1 and then Orioles at 3:45. I will be drunk then too.

For real. And this is far from over. The Tigers could've won both of these games. That's a damned fine team with a frightening middle lineup and stellar starting pitching.

I ain't counting no chickens. I remember 1979 when Earl over-managed the Orioles out of a title.

No reason to get mad, this was gonna happen regardless. Soria who has been one if the best relievers in baseball for years comes to Detroit and sucks. Doesn't even make sense.

Bad managing, bad bullpen, bad bounces. You don't win in the playoffs with those things.
I think there is a lot of justification to be mad. Ausmus should go on the Sanchez move alone.
Brandon, Hoke and Ausmus. There are some buffoons in the Detroit area as of late. Put Dave Clark on the list as well.

Clarks blunder came back to haunt the Tigers. Like Eck said "Why send the teams slowest runner, put the teams best player`s ailing ankle at risk trying to score from first with nobody out??"
That was absolutely the key moment in the game, though the decision to pull Sanchez - who was unhittable - in favor of anyone else in that dumpster fire of a bullpen was mind-boggling.
Both decisions still have me steaming. Cabrera's run mattered much less than the out did. They could have had another huge inning there. And Sanchez? It's the playoffs! Ride him til it hurts..

It's being reported that Cabrera has been talking a lot of trash to Orioles players the first two games and even the fans. I don't remember him being like that. Is this new for him?

He was hollering towards the stands yesterday while scoring during Martinez's home run. I'm not sure of the exact target, though.

Earlier in the thread, Detroit fans were stating that is just him, and it's not trash talk. He just likes to have fun and interact/talk #### to the fans, but all in good fun.

I kind of thought his body language said otherwise, but I suppose what they're saying could be the case. Without being there amd hearing him, there's real no way to know.

Lions & Tigers have the same exact schedule. :o

I miss Leyland
He did/would do the same ####.
I disagree, I remember a couple years ago when Velverde blew a save in the post season he pulled him and he didn't pitch again in the post season.
Valverde was pretty terrible in September, almost blew game one of the ALDS, blew a two run lead in game 4 of the ALDS, then blew a 4 run lead in the 9th inning of ALCS game 1 before Leyland decided he wouldn't be the closer anymore.

I think the problem with Ausmus is he is exactly like Leyland, too stuck in his ways and too loyal to certain ideas and players.

It does seem like MLB managers are stuck in a rut and label pitchers. 7,8,9, inning guy. Pitch Nathan in the 6th if needed. Just get 27 outs.

Wall Street Journal had a feature sports article Friday on the use of starting pitchers in a relief role in the playoffs. "Such moments crystallize everything that makes postseason baseball so much more exciting than the regular season. After six months of tomorrows, teams have no choice but to play for today....No one has to care about who pitched yesterday, or for how long, or whether the next inning might be the one to send an ace to the operating room." ..."'It's all hands on deck,' said ..Showalter. "'This is a different season.'" ..."Indeed, last week each of the Oriole's top three starters declared himself ready for relief duty ..."

No quotes from the Detroit coaching staff.

So Ausmus challenges the out call and then can't challenge the obstruction debacle at 2nd. Everything going Orioles way, unbelievable.

Guessing Price is going to go 7 or 8 strong innings then Joba, Soria or Nathan comes in and allows 45 runs

That is pretty much what is going to happen right?

Something like that. I'm hoping Price can go at least 8. But Detroit needs to get him a run or two. Bottom of 6th will be their best chance to strike - Norris pitch count getting up there, and the heart of Detroit's line-up coming up. If Norris makes a mistake, they need to pounce.

Yeah if the Tigers get up a run or two in the coming innings, I would throw the pitch count out the window for Price and have him go 110+ because if they somehow come back and take this series, he could start the next one.

I love the Detroit Tigers and I don't care who knows it.

Regarding the challenge early in the game..... does a tie go to the runner or the ump's call on the field? Either way, replay sucks.

Tommy Hunter hasn't been the 8th inning set up guy all season. Drives me crazy that they keep saying that

Lineup: O's have good power, Detroit can outhit them and put more men on base - but very streaky, they're 2nd in runs scored but got shutout like a dozen times
One last shot in the ninth ...but: This.

MAC commented he wanted to punch things. I'll start with the 3rd base coach; Ausmus; and today's 2nd base umpire. Or I'll just give props to the O's.
