***OFFICIAL Amazing Race 29 - Matched Strangers Teams Edition*** (1 Viewer)

I'm a couple of weeks behind but how in the hell did Floyd and Becca take the Fast Forward and finish 3rd on the leg?

from the editing, they did nothing wrong on the fast forward.  It just took longer.   If something did happen to delay them, it was not shown.

It's happened several times before. A couple of times the Fast Forward team came in last and got eliminated.
I remember recently, one team (I think it was a dooshy green t-shirt guy with hot wife) went to do a hang gliding FF in Brazil, but it was too windy so it was closed and they had to go back to do the regular tasks. So sometimes the FF doesn't even happen.

Does it seem like the speed bumps are tailor made for the team that has to do it? Tying up meat for a butcher? Really? And three double U-turns in eight legs. Wow, they're really increasing the hate potential. Glad to see that Liz and Michael are leaving as friends. When they were fighting it didn't look good.

It did seem that way on the Speed Bump.

Also, if Michael hadn't driven half way to Bulgaria before finally agreeing to turn around, they might have survived.

How long were each of them driving the wrong way? Seemed like Team Fun wasn't driving as long before getting directions. Other dude drove up a "mountain" before finally agreeing to turn around... #######.

And, the black guy on Team Fun reminds me of the black kid in Can't Hardly Wait.

Too bad Becca and Floyd were eliminated. I so hoped it would be Brooke and Scott. Is there ever a challenge that Brooke doesn't say "I can't do this..."? So tired of that whining.  Floyd sure looked in a bad way. Just too much heat and exertion for such a small guy.

Should be a pretty good race from now on. At least the teams are fairly competitive at this point.

Wow, that Vietnam leg was no joke. Not only did it seem longer but that heat is no joke in that area of the world. I'm almost mad that they didn't have Gatorade or some energy type drink instead of just water. The producers should have known better because that heat is no joke especially if they were doing that task midday. Also kind of bogus that they couldn't just redo what they were missing. Tough leg for sure... I wonder if that may have been the toughest leg ever on the show.

 Brooke

That one bad decision about taking the train instead of a cab put Matt and Redmond so far behind that they couldn't recover. Too bad because it looked like Matt did the best on the video game challenge. Still don't know how Tara lost so many times to the kid when he was blindfolded. I'm hoping Team Lolo does well next week.

Tara's pro was blindfolded AND one-handed at one point. He was just spamming fireballs and she didn't know how to jump kick.

I so much wanted her to keep losing and lose that leg.

Just so I could laugh my ### off at her.

at first, I was annoyed by Brooke. but now, I love her. she needs MORE screen time. her lack of confidence and ability at ANYTHING is entertaining as ####.

when the amazing race is over, some channel should give her her very own show where every week she tries something new. Brooke goes sailboarding. Brooke wrestles a sumo. Brooke enters the mathlympics. best show ever.

They should title it "Brooke does... Or doesn't". With each failed attempt, she'd be forced to remove an article of clothing. It'd air on PlayboyTV or Japan.

I was getting annoyed at Joey being upset with the gamer for beating Tara (tbh, I had to look up their names) It's what they do. Do you really think they want to lose to a middle aged woman.

London is very cute. She's got some crazy eyes, killed on the video game segment and seems kinda fun.

Rooting for Brooke and Scott at this point. There's no way I thought they'd make it this far, especially with her playing with a broken elbow the whole time...lol And Scott has kept a good attitude dealing with Brooke's histrionics. I like Brooke though but I tend to like b*tchy women. It's fun to watch her suffer.

:goodposting: on the Bold part... The gamer had one hand behind his back and was blindfolded.. WTH did you want him to do just turn his back and not play??

Can't say I'm happy with the winners but they were pretty unstoppable in the last two legs so props to them. I was pulling for Team Lolo but they were never really in it. This was one of those finales where the order never changed during the show. Still, on the whole it was a pretty interesting season. I saw that the show was renewed for another season.

Pretty good. She's one of the most unlikely winners ever. But he carried that team. He knew the game inside and out, recognized landmarks from previous seasons, and had the strategy and patience needed to drag her to the end. Almost literally. He would have won with about half the partners he could have matched with.
and great idea to ditch the backpacks on the last leg. I'm sure it's been done before but I don't remember when.

Not happy with them winning, especially with the two guys making the stupidest mistake ever. Another team a while ago did the same thing and lost the finale. Never take the subway over a cab, it never makes it there faster, especially when you have to switch trains. They would have blown through the finale.

That said, the finales are just getting stupid lately. Remember when the final puzzle challenge would actually take some teams forever and teams that were behind would be able to come from behind? Scott and Brook got out of the airport the fastest and the challenges along the way were so simple that even if the old couple didn't make that one mistake, they still couldn't have caught up. Phil said at the beginning that it would be a tough leg. LOL, so easy. Hot dog eating challenge becomes deliver 10 hot dogs across the street? The finales have just not been fun to watch the last few years, I start fast forwarding because in the first 10 minutes you already know who wins. It's not fun to watch when every leg so far had harder challenges than the finale.

At least have them make the hotdogs!

I ended up really rooting for Brooke and Scott.  Glad it was renewed.

Brooke reminded me of the most irritating winner ever, Flo (from Flo and Zach). Flo whined on every task and her partner did nearly everything. In fact they changed the rules after that season so that partners had to split up the detours.

I liked the idea of the 1st day picks to form the teams.

I also agree that the final was pretty dull, with almost no chance to pass anyone.

Generally, the first episode of the season and the last episode, both end up being pretty weak. That's just how it goes.
It didn't used to be that way. The challenges (been a while since the finale's been good) were sometimes things that took hours and teams that remembered better* could come back. Also, remember when teams could somehow be a day behind? Just seems like they stack everything up way too much and then go easy on the finale. Just sucks when something as simple as getting out of the airport first or getting one good taxi driver is what separates the winners from 2nd place.

* Last night was only each team's own finish. How hard is it to remember that? I seem to remember those two burnout guys losing because the end because they literally couldn't figure out the challenge. That was also earlier in the race's history when people didn't know what to expect. Now they do and unfortunately, they have just decided to make the finishes ridiculously easy. Maybe to make it possible for the OK teams to overcome the juggernauts.

No kidding, they called it a hot dog eating challenge and it was a put hot dogs in a box, walk up stairs and give them to other people to eat.

That would've been really cool to drive the car and do all that stuff at Wrigley from a players perspective. Pretty boring to watch though.

Why not a real hot dog eating challenge or a batting challenge? The hardest thing that whole episode was changing the tire and even that just took a few attempts to get it. I love the show, but the finales have been ruining it lately. There are times where managing who does which challenge that can make a team get eliminated. If the tire challenge was legitimately hard for the ladies, that would have been interesting if they hadn't managed who does what detour correctly. I don't care who wins, but handing the million to the team that gets out of the airport faster or gets the best first taxi just makes the finale just suck.

Except for the locations they go to...the show has really jumped the shark in recent years.

I've always liked the show, and even though it's been renewed, it wouldn't shock me if they put it on the shelf. this season was actually supposed to air last September, and they let is sit in limbo for 6 months without too much of an uproar. an underwhelming final episode won't exactly get people drooling for the next season either.

That was a pretty good show. Brooke hit a home run on that scoreboard challenge. They deserved to win since Brooke and Scott were pretty 50/50 the whole race. Scott had the knowledge while Brooke kept the motivation going. MomDad was a good team to watch as well. London looked to be the love child of Ellen DeGeneres and Sarah Jessica Parker.

I was happy that he won, her, not at all.  I really like the teams that seem to just enjoy themselves.  Her constant #####ing and crying got old fast.

I really expected her to have another meltdown at the scoreboard, and the fact that she didn't is what won it for them.

I thought she looked more like Patricia Wettig from 30 Something. At least back in the day.

Scott is still a tool though.
This.

I liked this season overall. Good format.  I just didn't like the winning team. Scott was a dooosh to other teams and no surprise that he jumped in front of Brooke to get on the mat first.

OMG... :lmao:

Season 30 cast

If anyone watched Big Brother this year, you know Cody is a ticking time-bomb and is a risk to flip out at any moment and murder an entire village. Can't wait.
